you can just tell by looking at him. first time i saw him in SOTUS he was the most interesting part to me. he's also not afraid to look ugly which i love. i can't wait to see him in more things outside of the genre too and heavier things. starting to think short kings deserve more rights

yes to the person above. it takes about a day for the translations to get to 96% (a day in EST) and they change them frequently after. (viki also got bought so a lot of things have changed and the subbing teams are a mess and they do not get paid and a lot of people have left (or so i've read on here b4).) but also it makes the subs wayyyy better

edit: just watched the trailer and actually finished i didn't expect it to go in that direction. plot could really be fuckin dumb but hopefully not and if it's full of clichés they subvert all of them. it will be...a story! really love to see fiat's fuckin' face he's fun and a confident #shortking. we'll see if it's good or not and hope it's not annoying/cloying. (sidenote na is 2y younger than me but he looks 34 lol but it's good love the mature lookin' ones; you can also tell fiat is older and i love that for my eyes)

i think people look at their generations as pretty good up until the point of millenials and then that entitlement buzzword came out cos the internet cos everyone says a variation of that for things previously. i think it's our fondness of the way we remember the past. even tho millenials don't rly have that same highground we can still feel superior to gen zers bc well being 27+ just means you feel superior to young people because.....they can be so awful!

anyway i am a huge nirvana and kurt cobain fan and i enjoy so mcuh gen x music and comedians and progressives because i think it was a very special and specific time, extremely hard and painful tho, which is why it's a silent one but in a good way. most gen xers ive met are very fuckin cool. i hope you and your kids are doing fabulously today and staying safe and they aren't annoying you with twitch or whatever kids like these days (wow i sound like my mom)

yep! hats off cos it's tough. oh man i love all 4 of them a lot and man i wish danyok had more space and time for what could have been. ver intimate and intense and i love that shit so i feel you. i would honestly love to see the two of them together again in something and in a show that had that intense environment like with NM. even with the things that had to be cut and changed what they did have was good as fuck. i got more attached when i went back to NM bc offgun had more time but the draw for me the first (bad dum tssh) time was danyok which is hilarious that we are opposite but in a good way. i honestly cannot rave enough over them and i know some ppl disagree but for the most part i think watching firstgawin as danyok wassssss an experience for a lot of viewers. a good one. didn't expect that.

you're right abt them breaking away i guess i am less optimistic that this will be in a deep way considering the disparities in support that they receive from production and audience. there's a million shows and media and everything popping up everyday but what's banked on is what will get the most viewers and $, getting known actors etc. and so it's harder for independents to go on their way or try and work for a big company on a project and get adequate support. and i know that means we are in a state of stagnation all around the world. but it isn't a unique problem to media either.

it's hard as fuck in the US (where i am from) and we are a much richer country with a much longer production history and output. that doesn't mean that people shouldn't do what they want, try hard, experiment, and really pursue their artistry; you and i included! but not giving up? i know that anucha almost quit and there's so many artists i love that get so pushed to the brink. but they also don't give up and it's a calling but that's a tough cost. then again even if there's the same generic stuff, or even good generic stuff, there are going to be shows always made that do take chances. i was reading about the director and the party they are in and they really believe in disseminating information which is a big belief of my own ideologies. i am definitely further to the left than them but the belief is to show and give information to people to allow them to explore different things and tap into the broader world and movement for progress and we can build coalitions with that (and they mention this in an episode.) and yea it may not be at the level they or i would love but you're right, it's happening and damn is it a good thing. and even for here ppl were upset it's in HS but it's like...so beyond the typical school setting so ppl got hooked.

what you are writing sounds interesting! sci-fi is an amazing genre and a very cool metaphorical one and those stories are really fascinating. i admire you; i am always jealous that people can execute something to the end. i have never written a feature length film because it requires so much concentration and a clear vision lol so a) wow and b) good for you!!! i hope the process is going well and not too stressful.

re: length oh god i get what you mean and actually agree with the length and longer is most certainly not always better. i think i was coming at it from my editor/director mind: how do we fix the flaws now that come from the script which would be editing and extension but you're right cos uhhhhhh it starts from cleaning up the script lmao.

agreed! i think the ability to overlook is what a lot of ppl have issues with lol. for some of us we can and for others they can't. which is very valid but overlooking doesn't necessarily mean the show is doing its top noch job or viewers are missing the cosmic messages intentionally or not thinking. it's also a level of taste and also your life.

in one of the eps i remember akk asking why they grew up the same but think so differently and wat was like "we didn't grow up the same; we read different books, watch different things, talk to different people" — this was obviously a sadder implication in the show but it still stands on a level of why people are more radical than others but also on why we like (or dislike) the same things in completely different ways in approach, interpretation, discussion etc

lmaooo i am the same for NM i mean i love the undertones but i exclusively watch it for the romance, which is p much what i think most bl is anyways, and i'm not a huge exclusively romantic drama fan which is why i stick to getting romance here since i am not as sold on the ability to deliver a solid story (i would like) as a genre. i mean the whole thing was messy so agreed. i am also a writer (scripts) and a filmmaker so i getcha on that. that's very cool!

sorry i meant that i hope with peoples takeaway they can at least appreciate those undertones and it opens a door for them to explore more about their own history and struggles and other places. i think that's what i meant because as we have both expressed it is more of a romantic aspect and less about those things now which, to me, flattens the point the production is trying to make. i think i finally figured out wtf i meant sry i have learning issues lol

although i don't think this show is supernatural since that's all again just metaphor but the mystery thing for sure. the draw was that the man jumped off a cliff and he knew so that's a big deal to find out why/who/what.

there's a limited amount of space/time in a movie and a film and although i think we, as artists, should expect the viewers to have a more relentless and deeper critical view and comprehensive view that doesn't mean that whole time should be spent, on a show like this, in trying to figure out what all these layers mean separately particularly if you have way less of a background in the political tones which ostensibly younger people who watch do. but i also don't think you or other people are necessarily missing the point or not caring about the more heavy stuff—perhaps you're being too harsh on yourself—since we absorb so much from what we read and see that we don't realize until later so often.

i also think a point i missed is that characters, story, whatever and the politics go hand in hand since no work is apolitical so, again, i think viewers should give themselves more credit on feeling a disconnect since it's failing to deliver that synchronicity the way it should. i wanted to respond because i think some people believe others to be missing some grand cosmic point while actually a large part of it is the work itself, not the individuals watching? and i genuinely do not think people are that ignorant, stupid, uncritical or unaware of what they consume. i really dislike that implication and i'm a pretentious asshole most times! it should also be longer than 12 eps lol

re:other parts; however, i think it's a bit unfair to say that about younger people because we are older, know more, and have more life experience.* i am a millenial so part of that last gen :P

they/we are experiencing an extremely different world ESP since the pandemic (i was 27 when it started and that is hard to accept) and one that hasn't changed as much as it should. their consciousness is raised, as it should be, because of the previous generation (the one i belong to) and our demands and all the previous generations of kids, teens, young adults who refused to be silenced.

they (gen z)/we (as in me and my gen, mill) should be entitled to dignity and not adhere to rules that are harming them. in the show this particular rule that spurred the events (uniforms) isn't one of them in particular but kids will also just be fucking dumb as hell, really awful and annoying sometimes. we were too, you know? but you don't punish that and break their spirit to get them to fall in line. and clearly the problems existed in spades way before. the strike is a culmination of things.

*granted i had really tough parents and relentless environments and my beliefs are not considered mainstream at all though, to me, they are normal. i love the imagination and livelihood of kids and teens and their happiness is tantamount to our own. and i can give them much more leeway for trying to be their own people under an authoritative thumb via the state or the school. this will always color my view.

i've seen people go through that, physically have their bodies removed, i've had friends whose mail has been opened and stolen, lives ripped apart because they refuse to allow themselves to be killed. all because we want to express ourselves and have a better world. and just as kids can be horrendous, adults know the score and have a more developed and less impulsive and mean brain IF they choose to grow up and respect other people, however many /choose/ not to. adults and parents can be controlling because young people aren't appliances that always work. as a parent obviously you know that tho. they rely on us and we exploit that and call it a balanced relationship.

the reason it starts with kids, and then would seem very juvenile to us as adults or adults with kids and way more life experience than me, is because that's easier to swallow than having a whole big picture like with Not Me. the formality in thai society equates into this microsystem, obviously, so i can accept that juvenile aspect. but in terms of story progression not much has happened well i stopped at ep 7 and i want to continue but i, too, want more.
