This drama is so good, so why only 12 episodes, I wonder. Some silly rom-com gets 16 - 20 episodes, so why not good criminal dramas like this one? Anyway, I hope there will be Season 2 of Through The Darkness.

Really liked the 1st 2 episodes so far, and I find it quite funny and entertaining. I hope the drama stays like this until the end.

This is one of the best criminal thriller drama I have seen in a long while. I really like criminal TV dramas that show behavioural analysis and forensic science such as CSI Las Vegas, Criminal Minds, The Mind Hunters, etc. I enjoy watching how the Korean police are trying to down play the behavioural analysis work, and I can understand why they looked down on the profilers in the early years. This type of criminal investigative science was still new then, and was not easy to understand by hard-nose pragmatic cops. Anyways, I noticed that this Kdrama is only 12 episodes. Hopefully, if this becomes a great success, there will be Season 2 in the future.

I tried watching this drama, but after 3 episodes, I just can't continue. Somehow, the FL annoys me... I cannot get past of her image of being the zombie in the Korean Odyssey... hahaha.... even though the ML is hot and handsome in this periodical drama

Hopefully in Season 2, the SFL in the Season 1 can finally be married to the ML, since she loved and protected him all the time.

Maybe she had a secret twin?? LOL.... or maybe she didn't die because she was shot and the bullet didn't kill her outright. So her family members could have secretly took her home and hide her from the ML.

Whenever I watch Chinese historical dramas, I want to laugh out loud at the so-called "hundreds of troops or soldiers". The number of extras acting as soldiers/fighting men are pitiful...LOL...They could at least have spent some money on CGI and multiply the number of extras on screen. :))

The production value of this drama is so high, in my opinion. I am loving it.

She looks very different from when she was in Yangxi Palace drama. She looks much older compared than Xu Kai in this drama. You are right to say that the make-up artists didn't do a good job in making her look better. :((

Here I am in Feb. 2022 starting this drama. I only got interested because I saw bits and clips on TikTok and I got curious enough to try to watch the whole drama. I hope it is good.

I started watching this drama some time in 2020, put it on hold, and restart in 2021 but still cannot get into the drama so I put it on hold again. Now in February 2022, I restart watching and pushed through the 1st 10 episodes (which I found to be uninteresting because I cannot stand the FL). However, after 11th episodes, I found the drama to be really interesting & entertaining. I really liked the ML and his cunning and tricks to get out of every troublesome situations. The side characters also added to the fun of the drama. Now I am on 23rd episode and I am hooked.

Thank you for a well written article. I agree that some of the Kdramas mentioned needed a Season 2. My best pick for Season 2 will be Korean Odyssey (will the Monkey King find his lost love's soul in hell?), Hotel del Luna (the epilogue of the new owner is the bomb!), Crash Landing on You (I want to see their babies!), Signal (the mystery continue), and What happened to Secretary Kim (I want to see their married life...LOL).
