Is it just me, or I just hate the FL & SFL. I can't stand how bitchy and mean the FL and SFL are in this drama. They are supposed to be strong, intelligent and independent working women but they are shown as bitchy, petty, short-tempered and indecisive females in these modern times. The way the FL treated the ML is downright terrible and very rude. There are many ways to show your disapproval and non-cooperation but her methods are just crude, unprofessional, childish and inhumane .... OK, I have finished venting for my poor lovely patient ML and SML.
So far I am not impressed with this Boss & me Thai version. The FL is not convincing or cute as the Chinese drama version, and the ML is not as bossy and arrogant; although Push is handsome, he does not have the charisma of a successful boss or company CEO. Perhaps Mark Prin could have been better.... hahaha... I felt like the Thai version rushed the story through instead of building up the plots together. They didn't write good enough background story for the viewers to understand and endear themselves to the ML & FL. For example, there are no memorable scenes that show how the ML fell in love with the FL, that is, in Chinese version, ML has been secretly watching FL eating her lunches on his private office balcony for many days and saw her pure, bright, candid and happy personality. The ML started having his lunches at same time as the FL, even rushing from meetings, so that he felt like he is not eating his lunches alone. It's these small moments/scenes that makes the drama cute and memorable. This Thai version shows FL eating and sharing her packed lunches with her friends/colleagues. And she only got 2 packed lunches, instead of the one month packed lunches as per Chinese version. There is no interesting scenes that makes me want to stay and watch. Also this Thai version introduced the villain-evil FL too early (in 2nd episode) and she turned out to be such a bitchy & unfriendly person, as compared to the Chinese version. This has become just another typical Thai lakorn, not an adaptation of the Chinese drama Boss & Me...LOLz. Plus, the FL's best friend (the one who depended on her rich & terrible fiance) love story changed - looks like she will end up with the ML's best friend. I guess this is a good change. Anyway, I have watched up to 6 episodes (without subtitles but easily understandable) and I became bored already. I am not sure how they will fill up 40 episodes. Maybe Thai version wanted their own touches in the story but so far, the drama is not impressive or entertaining. This Thai version is not it for me - I will not watch this after all. What a pity because I was looking forward to this Thai drama.
This Thai version has 40 episodes?? The Chinese version only has 34 episodes and it was dragging towards the end. How will the Thai version fill out the extra episodes? I am already bored by the 3rd episodes....LOL
is SHK a good actress? did she act ok at least once? i have never seen her before in a drama so i'm just asking..also,…
I have not seen DOTS full drama but I have seen few video clips. Based on what I saw, I don't like SHK or her acting. I watched a few minutes of Encounter, and I still don't like her. Something about her RBF (resting-bitch-face) and her acting are a turn-off for me...LOL... So I am skipping this new drama of hers. :))
OMG. I was visiting my mom and I saw this drama was shown on the local cable TV and it was dubbed into the local language. I noted the drama looked quite old & I was right. The few episodes I saw was quite interesting but the poor dubbing really spoiled the watching experience...LOL...
This Mr. Queen drama should be on Netflix. It deserves all the attention and love from international viewers as well, just equally like Squid Game, and other Korean drama series that are now on Netflix. I hope in the future Netflix will buy the licenses to show all of Mr. Queen drama series.
WHAT A GREAT SHOW! Loved the ending too, it was perfect! However the story would've been great in a 16 episode…
You should put this as a Review and give ratings so that many will continue to watch this absolutely wonderful drama. I loved it so much that I have re-watched it so many times (mostly the main leads & hilarious parts with Lady Choi and the Royal Chef). I wish there are more dramas like this with great directing, production, acting, and intelligent script and story telling. I am glad that the FL is portrayed as smart, sassy, strong and decisive. Plus hilarious!!
I am very happy that she is doing a new project now. I was scared that she might be delayed in getting new projects because the very popular Mr. Queen drama was protested against & requested to be cancelled by many conservative Korean Netizens. She is a great actress and did very well in Mr. Queen.
The ML, Kim Min Jae, really does look like Yeo Jin Goo (Hotel del Luna) in this Dali & Cocky Prince drama but at least Min-Jae's voice is deep and sexy. LOL... At first, I was not planning to watch this Kdrama because I was not interested based on the synopsis; plus the poster of both the main leads didn't inspire me at all. However, while on a long transit at an airport, I decided to watch this drama because I was bored. I was pleasantly surprised and entertained in the 1st few episodes. I find the FL to be sweet yet naive, without overdoing it, but she does have a backbone when pushed into a corner; and I actually fell in love with the ML due to his visual and smart-ass money-crazy nature, yet sweet & cute puppy-in-love behaviour. This is my first time watching Kim Min-Jae and I really love his acting and deep voice; plus he has one of the best dialogues in the drama. Somehow, the ML & FL petty quarrels & cute reconciliation moments keep me glued to the screen. Even though, there are many evil side characters that are trying to do them harm, it was the ML's resolute loyalty & steadfast love towards the FL that kept me watching the show until the end. I give this lovely cute drama 9/10.
Thank you for your really good article. You have written well and in great detail. I enjoyed reading it as the words and sentences flows smoothly, and not boring. Two-thumbs up!! For me, I didn't like the K-drama version of Bride of the Water God. I didn't understand the story and I find the acting to be boring/not interesting plus the actors were unconvincing in delivering the story. For this fantasy drama to be made into a Xianxia, I think it is an excellent idea, since the C-drama studios will do this story justice. I have watched so many C-drama in the last several years and I am always impressed with the high quality in their production, sets, costumes, cinematography, etc., Let's not forget the stunning visuals too. C-drama has come a long way to be what it is today.
I came to watch this after Happiness!! I still cannot get over that drama so wanted to watch something of a similar…
I have yet to watch Happiness. Yes, Signal is a really good drama, and I watched it for the acting of the 2 male leads. If you can overlook the FL and see her as how the Kdrama represents most FL, then you will really appreciate this wonderful criminal action thriller drama. I love it so much, I was hoping for Season 2. Then I googled about it, and found out that Season 2 may be released later this year or early next year. Enjoy watching. BTW, I am watching Voice korean drama now, and I also liked it (plus I just ignore the FL and focus on the main male lead....LOL)
I saw the trailer and was not impressed with all the drinking and drunk 3 women attics. If this was about women struggles, etc., I don't think watching 3 women who drink on daily basis is really inspiring. Somehow, it shows how pitiful and undignified they become after too much drinking.
I only started watching this drama in Dec. 2021 and I am amazed that it is very good crime thriller Kdrama. Every episode was so good, and everyone acted very well. I was surprised that this drama was aired in 2016 and the quality of production, acting and script were so-so good, IMO. I am glad I managed to watch this wonderful crime-solving thriller of drama. Based on the ending of this drama, will there be a Season 2?
I finally finished this drama today after watching the last 10 episodes at 2x Speed. Oh boy! Watching the number of bi**ches villains trying to bring down the FL is truly excruciating. And the ending episode revealing why the male villain hated the ML is super lame. Sigh... the winning element of this crazy drama was the cute boy. I am giving this drama 7.5 out of 10. :))
This is a beautiful yet tragic story. I am glad I found it so late (I watched this in early 2021). Even though it was produced/aired in 2006, the film was wonderful and the actors all acted very well. Plus, since I had lived in the Netherlands for 6 years, watching this film brought me some wonderful memories of the times I spent there. The best part is watching Jung Woo Sung, the handsome yet deadly assassin in this film. This is the first time I saw him and I will look forward to his other projects.
From all of these comments, it seems that both 39 and 40 should be watched as leads reconcile in 39. Ok I'll bite…
I salute you - you managed to watch until the end. I dropped this after episode 2 because I cannot get into the drama. I tried to re-watch it after 2 weeks break, but still, I can't stand the FL's character and frilly outfit. I liked the actress in her other drama (Legend of Yun Xi as poison expert), but I think she needs a new stylist for her next drama because she looked the same in all her previous dramas...LOL.
