'You are my Hero' is indeed a good quality drama. Well-written and well acted. The production put lots of efforts into the action and medical scenes, making it almost real, and I really appreciate that they treat the audience with respect. I wish there are more C-dramas that make quality production and not just crunching out numerous useless dramas just to cast the idols and models actors and earn money.... LOL...

Have you seen 'You are my Hero'? I think it is the same kind of drama, like DOTS, but more cute. IMO, the action and medical scenes were well done, and the romance between the ML & FL are sweet and cute but kind of slow burn.
When I saw the trailer to this You are my Guardian, I was excited because I thought I was getting another drama like 'You are my Hero'. But based on your comments, I am quite worried now. I wonder if I sound start watching and end up cursing the show... .LOL...

While watching this J-drama, and observing the anti-social and awkward but genius mangaka ML, I suspect he has Asperger Syndrome, a type of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). He may looked anti-social and very rude but it is his non-ability to communicate with people. Inside, he is kind and gentle, and even lonely and just wanted to be loved. So far, I really like this J-drama. I really LOL when the stalker was revealed to be the 1st guy the FL dumped; and everyone kept calling him a stalker. I also like the slow burn and subtle affection between the ML and FL. I just hope that the editor (Kogo) will not spoil their romance because he didn't want the ML to return back to normal. :))

I agree with you. It is truly a gem. Awkward, silly but sweet and cute, especially the boy.

I am currently searching for a good C-drama to watch. So far, there is not much that I liked, so I started re-watching Under The Power, and even My Heroic Husband again.... LOL.. Anyway, since this Joy of Life has such high rating, perhaps I will pick it up again. Since I liked the ML, maybe I will just skip the FL scenes, and proceed onwards. Looking forward to see the main ML and FL from My Heroic Husband again, in this Joy of Life. :))

IKR.... I just want to slap the FL and tell her to just ditch that arrogant novelist and take care of her husband. I know the writer wants to portray a working career woman as independent and strong but as a career woman myself, I will not sacrifice my family for work especially for someone unprofessional, arrogant and selfish. Is this how a Japanese career woman should be? I don't know.... SMH.... LOL....

Why does the C-dramas always do this? Sometimes, they give too much screen time to second leads couples, and what is the point? GGGRRRR..... LOL....

I put this drama on-hold for almost a year after dropping it a few episodes into the drama. I stopped watching when the story started to focus on the romance of the ML and FL. Somehow, I just found the FL to be really annoying (maybe it's just me) and I lose interest in the drama overall. I liked the ML and his earlier episodes (which were hilarious), and after watching My Heroic Husband c-drama, I am wondering if I should start re-watch this Joy of Life again.

I know what you mean. I am really not enjoying this silly and stupid drama (terrible plots, over-the-top acting, etc.), but yet I continue watching it just to see how stupid everyone will be in the end.... it is like watching one of those blackhead popping videos, where it is disgusting but you just cannot turn away.... Hahahaha...

I agree with you. We seldom see Liang Ye with Shi Ya, and her ugly wig really was a turn-off... LOL.

There are so many historical C-dramas coming out nowadays, and somehow, I feel that they look almost the same in terms of story, plots and tropes. I was considering to watch this drama because of Xu Kai (I liked him in Yanxi Palace, Legends and Arsenal Military Academy), but after watching the preview, I am not impressed at all. Plus the fact this is a 55 episodes drama, which is really daunting to follow for me. Anyway, I will put this on my Plan-to-Watch list.

I am happy for them. Every couple in love should have the right to be happy in their relationship. I just hope Lee Seung Gi doesn't have any crazy female fans who are unhappy losing their "Oppa".... hahaha....

I come here for Allen Ren because I have been re-watching Under The Power several times now, and I want to watch another Cdrama where Allen was said to act very well. I want to know where I can watch this drama with english subtitles. Please, does anyone know?

I am also doing the same thing. I have re-watched this drama several times already, usually my favorite parts with the ML and FL. Like you, I kept noticing new things every time I rewatch the episodes. The strange thing was I didn't like this drama at first and dropped it because I didn't like the look of Allen Ren and I found Seven Tan to unbelievably as young as a constable. However, I picked it up again when one of the MDL commenters convinced me to watch it. And boy, I am glad I did because now it is one of my favorite dramas of all time.

Based on your answer, it now make sense. No wonder there are many crappy dramas with many episodes.... LOL... I am glad the Chinese government is concern about the quality of the film industry

I like the gaming concept, like the one in Love 020. But if it is so cringey, I will skip. What are the writer and director thinking when doing this drama?

Why did China passed such a law? How strange. I guess shorter no. of episodes is also good so that dramas don't get draggy.

I was planning to watch this drama, but as soon as you mentioned childish FL, I am thinking - Hell No !!, I hate childish, naïve, fake innocent FL. Seriously, this is the 21st Century, as there still women like this walking around the country. Sigh..... time to look for other dramas

I watched the Korean version too, and I actually completed the show but I fast forwarded a lot because I didn't like the male actor but I love the main actress. Looking forward to watching this Chinese version
