I actually never blamed JC because she didn't know what WWX did for him and even though he acted like a jerk, I could always feel how much he loves him. I think his character is very interesting because multi-layered. He's not a bad guy but his attitude makes him not be a good guy either, he's very flawed but when you think about everything he's lived through, and see the situation from his point of view, you realise he's just quite pitiful and protects himself by being mean

It ends after ep 32. But don't be too much of in a hurry, the flashback provides lots of contextual bg to what happens next and worst, when the flashback ends, the episodes start going way too quick toward the end >.< 50 episodes for this drama is too short T.T

Ahah yeah, over the 200+ dramas I've watched until now, this is the first time I am watching all the drama's BTS and literally stalking all the actors interviews + their songs and dancing videos ^^"

It was hard to show love without intimacy and the succeeded at it so well that now we're all addicted XD

On another note, I totally agree with what you said about the censorship. I really think that the fact that they couldn't show actual intimate moments between the characters really worked in favour of the amazing romance we got on-screen. Not being able to kiss or hug forced the actors to look at each other with such love in their eyes that it has become one of the strongest and purest romance ever (imo) :)

Yes i totally agree ! Historical dramas are becoming a rarity, and when they exist, they face so much censorship that they vcan't even tell their story properly >.< The worse is that korean historicals are also becoming rare, so... what to watch now ??

Yes I totally agree ! The problem is also that lot of drama watchers mostly care about romance and happy endings, while CHD don't always have both elements. They often focus more on political stuff or martial arts/cultivation stories. But for me that's why they are so amazing ! They have such intricate and interesting stories ! Honestly, part of the reason The Untamed is so popular is also because the story is so good. Romance in one thing, but there should also be a strong plot-line to make the drama worthwhile :)

Yes I totally agree. Chinese dramas are often inspired from novels, but to this day I have never found one that was that close to the novel. Or more like, the ones that were also reached an amazing popularity (take TMOPB or AOL for instance). So following the novel content wasimo one of the most important part of maling this drama a masterpiece. And obviously the actors and everything else too ^^

We have the same taste then because they both are my favourites after Chen Qing and Bu Wang ! Especially Jang Cheng's song, as you said the lyrics are so sad ! This character had a lot of faults but he really suffered a lot, he was quite pitiful T.T

Even though I watched the drama before I read the novel, which means that I didn't have any expectations on how this would come out (and actually I didn't even know the story because i didn't check the plot), now that I have read the novel I think that we didn't lose that much of the nuance in the drama. I mean yes, for WWX they clearly made him less "evil" than in the novel (even though I never thought he was that bad anyways but it's true he lost control and is responsible for quite a few terrible thingss) and they toned down lots of powers (censorship + low budget make it such). But I don't think the villains were portrayed as extremely guilty or less gray than in the novel. Except for the Wen clan, which already didn't have that much bg in the novel apart from wanting power, the other villains were given a real story and to me the actors were good at making them seem not so bad. As much as I didn't agree with some things they did, I understood them and couldn't hate anyone. Same goes for Jiang Cheng, who is kind of a good guy but at the same time has so many faults that make him very human. That obviously comes from the good writing of the novel author but I think the drama did well in not losing this aspect of the story :)

Lmao Ikr XD People still seeing this as a pure friendship is totally uncomprehensible to me ^^" I watched the drama before readin the novel or watching anything related ans the only pure thing I could see was their love...
But oh well, if seeing this as bromance allows the drama to have even more watchers... why not ?

Ikr !!! I can watch the MV (to read the subtitles) on a loop, it was so well-written ! It sounds so happy when the lyrics are so sad, just like WWX... omg just talking about it makes me want to rewatch/listen to it again >.<

Ikr ! Chinese historicals don't get the love they deserve T.T

I recommend reading the novel (beware of smut though), watching the donghua, watching the BTS, reading the manhua, listening to the audiobook, rewatching the drama.. and then start again from the beginning :)
