That unapologetic attitude of Zhanyan and her friend is SO annoying to see. No matter how hard the friend tried to justify it with some solemn exposition on the beach (Ep. 31). Freaking annoying. You two did something bad that directly affected people MULTIPLE TIMES, you need to apologize for it. Can't believe the writers are letting go of them this easily. Annoying, annoying, annoying.

Almost ALL women on this show are SO toxic and all the men are SO passive. God, it's not even healthy anymore. Especially to the viewers. Can't believe they're airing this in 2021, ffs.

The music scoring & choices reminds me of Record of Youth, but I'm so glad the story, pacing, and overall blandness of ROY is nothing like this one!

It's cliche to a fault, but I don't find it abhorrent. I'd watch this any day to kill time. Also, I saw tons of people saying it was cringery, but I don't think it's there yet. Some bits are laugh-out-loud funny, which is surprising, because I never quite saw MGY in that setting before (except Waikiki).

Didn't expect much from the CEW's acting, so I wasn't too disappointed.

Hey, so a couple of weeks ago, everyone was so worried about previews of Xu Jin trying to find a new wife/consort. But since the past episodes, we found out that it was actually a joke he played on Fu Rong (and the emperor, really). So does that mean those previews were DONE and misleading? Am I allowed to feel better now and not anticipate the worst?

At this point, I still can't remember what Fu Rong's friend who became a princess (?) is so mad about? Like why is she still relevant lol (I'm sure it'd be for some ominous reason in the future, and I'm worried). I hate her face.

They finally got married, but why am I the only one happy?! The own characters can't even be happy on their own wedding day, it makes my heart ache.
