Actually no. She has been criticized for "going up against the white hollywood" because she was advocating that…
But now if we do the same with 1985 then Marvel 2 has to be a slam dunk lol. 1985 was so bad. Nobody is going to have to worry about that anymore. Also, did we ever really like Scarlett as Black Widow? I dont blame the actress but they've been disrespecting her character since day one. She hasn't had a proper storyline of character build up until(hopefully) her movie. Imo.
is this the lastest dra about wu zentian? i hope they make another remake soon, after watching the story of yanxi…
How is this drama lacking lol? It's gorgeous. I will say, though, the director of Yanxi Palace is more skilled/talented especially with lighting. I would argue the cinematography in general for this drama is amazing and better than Yanxi. That's probably all its got better tho in comparison lol. Still a great watch.
I was going to watch this but then realized too late these are the "half"-siblings in Joy of Life. I don't know what the casting director was thinking putting these two as a couple(and making the ML have literally the SAME personality as JoL) but whatever. Just a forewarning to save anyone some time if that bothers you.
did we watch the same episode bc shiyi did talk to her maids as to why she did those things.
Her husband knows tho. And, technically, she hasn't told them she's pregnant they are under the assumption with good reason but still. I would think it's normal in the first two months with those symptoms they would think she was and the doctor would tell them it was a false diagnosis later. I would also think the doctor would be the one to face the most flack rather than her. Unless you think she's going to keep pretending up until the 9th month lol. Highly unlikely if it goes past the 4th month. I agree it was dumb to sneak into the house but she's doing this to find her mother's murderer. I think we can all also agree that makes it a situation that calls for serious actions.
I would highly recommend you to give Hikaru no Go (c-drama) a try, and then see if you still have the same opinion....…
I think we allow our biases to form an opinion before letting it settle to be unpacked. Like, was it really weird that they do their national anthem or that they celebrate when a territory "returns?
Most US states didn't stop celebrating the bombing of Hiroshima until 6 years ago. And I remember doing the national anthem every morning for school and I'm only 30. Also, it's like ghost make-up because Sai. . . . is a ghost, you know. I've never looked at asian horror movies and went "Why is the dead person wearing powder white make-up?"
I understand your critiques but, like, how do you watch anything? Japan has a loooong and violent imperialistic history. Is that easier to forgive than China's? Just thoughts I'm thinking.
I don't have much to say, but, honestly, if people liked Yanxi Palace they should like this too. I remember actually being unable to watch Yanxi for the first year or two because literally the first 15 episodes of Yanxi have nearly similar if not exact schemes/scheming in Lu Zhen. I like both of them but it caught me off guard because I enjoyed Lu Zhen so much. Both are really good but since this comment is for Lu Zhen--go watch it.
I agree with Sathiperera. If you didn't like *any* of the HIStory series, this one might not do it for you either.
Yeah, I've gotten flack for comparing BL series to straight in terms of proper writing and fluid pacing or storytelling. I love simple storylines(since complicated storylines are beyond most writers nowadays. That's some tea lol.)
The History series was reminiscent to some older japanese series that I've enjoyed but with a happy ending instead of those dumbass sad endings(except for, you know, that one) so I wasn't entirely impressed. Since Taiwanese BL movies were typically my favorite at the time I'm also just not understanding the swinging spectrum of storytelling within the genre in general. Like, you have both examples of competent and bad writing but it's like no one does research or script editing. It's all over the place for me personally.
I just haven't enjoyed most BL in a loooooooong while. There were some I nearly enjoyed but halfway they sunk like rocks.
Man, I remember watching Method and really thinking Korea was going somewhere and then now it's like 2021 to get main lead BL stories lol. That's how I feel about all of this. It's just taking waaaay too long even in the places that do the most to get an average story told. I also feel that it's been forever since SOTUS and, like, History is not better than that first season. Sotus had lack of budget and issues too but at least the writing was consistent in one script. So--opinions all around lol

I might be the only one who agrees with but maybe because I'm old and have been watching this genre for almost 20 years now. There are older, better shows but History was pretty good comparatively at the time. So, I understand why people disagree. . . .
I appreciate this a lot, thank you so much! :) It's indeed a good drama, hopefully you enjoy it on your second(?)…
Definitely! I think I was mildly disappointed with how little Yu Liang(Akira) showed up in some sections but making Hong He(Waya) just as lovable friendly as I remembered made up for it--for me anyhow. Ugh. It really reminded me why I loved the manga so much when I was a teen.
Ahhhhhh, I didn't know about the ending theme! I did feel super nostalgic the whole time I watched but never recognized it. I loved this adaptation so much. It's the best I've ever watched. I didn't know it was possible for it to be so close for things like this lol.
Every time I re-watch this I absolutely stop by the end of episode 64. I have 0 interest in the last few episodes.…
I think it's because we all were rooting for Yingluo to have a new best friend and we were let down like a 50 ton brick. It could've just been me but that entire plotline could've been shrunk to alot less episodes with more of a focus on the kids.
I watched it before Yanxi because I heard Yanxi was better--I didn't want to be disappointed lol. Consort Ling(Yingluo)…
Someone can correct me, but I don't remember Prince He in Ruyi Love in the Palace. And they switched up the purpose of the Eunuch brother but he does exist in both which I thought was interesting. I also think it's suspcious that he was crazy in Yanxi but perfectly sane in Ruyi lol. Makes me think some of the plot to bring down Empress Xian was not all Xian's fault.

Just completed this today, absolutely loved it. Anyone here watched "Ruyi's royal love in the palace" and is it…

Consort Ling(Yingluo) as an antagonist in Ruyi makes the drama a great accompaniment to Yanxi Palace like toppings on a burger. You see Consort/Empress Xian and her life experiences through her perspective. And it really makes me think, especially towards the end of Yanxi, that the truth lies somewhere in the middle. Yingluo has always been inappropriate and daring. We admire it in Yanxi Palace but rightfully scorn it in Ruyi's Love in Palace.
Ultimately, the burger i.e. Yanxi Palace is the main draw. Ruyi by itself is better than something in the same genre like Ming Dynasty or the most recent Xiao Chou(I think I hated it more than Hailan and that was one of the worst dramas I've ever finished but at least I could finish it), but it's not a great one.
Second to Yanxi but not a close second.
I would also suggest watching Ruyi first. The first 10 episodes are really good but it does start to slow. I think fast forwarded midway and then continued to watch closer to the last 15 episodes when things really ramp up.
I haven't watched it yet, but like let me know if all it is, is younger actors taking that one portion out of Love & Destiny and deciding to run with it as a whole drama.
