I like Choi Soo Young ..she should play as first female lead next time
She actually has been playing as the main lead for many dramas already, so I suspect her choosing this drama as a second lead is because of how unique and charming the role is so she is willing to back down in this. (Which I agree it totally let her shine cos she’s born for the role)
I am on ep6 and I think I really have to drop this :( Was so excited for NGM’s new drama but this drama just has feels pretentious with so many plot holes and logic failures. The love interest was forced and unnecessary. I am sorry NGM, he really is tend to pick dramas like this. Sometimes it works well like Stove league but sometimes it really doesn’t work. Will wait for your next project!

It’s about the way it’s being handled. Assault case is often but a male lead trying to make himself being punished correctly is rare. The way how he calculated the situation and decided to beat them up was a set up to achieve his goal - this is pretty rare. To perfectly show how he is as a person and his background story, his values and how both ML FL and even SFL go about this situation tells you a lot about who they are.
I personally think it’s a good decision to focus on one couple at a time. Giving equal time might mean you don’t get a good result on both. They are all very interesting characters I would hate to see any of them being built up insufficiently. It’s better to finish setting up one couple before going onto the second.
It’s 3-4 hours to cover one couple - normally you have 16 hours to talk about one couple and just 3-4 episodes how can you expect to share that time equally on 2 couples? Let alone they are the “main” leads.

It’s his way of telling his Junior that it is necessary and as the senior he wants to change the situation. The Junior understood what he wanted to achieve and doesn’t take it too personally because even like the SFL said to the Junior, ML doesn’t want to get away from this. By proving if you have done something wrong, you will be punished.
The FL said she pity him meaning she is falling for him. She is feeling she wants to treat him well and protect him because she is starting to fall for him. She said she likes him tho? Is the translation in English different than in Chinese? The Chinese subs said she admitted that she likes him and confessed. Hence she is jealous. And she wanted to let him know that she did indeed accept the money at first. It’s not as important that she ended up returning it, but the fact that she accepted it in the first place is why she wanted to come clean with him.

I think part of the reason is because even though she returned it at the end, she did accept it at first. So I think for her, accepting in the first place was “wrong” already so it’s less important that she ended up returning it
