Ok You know what was the most fucked up part about it its not the incest but the fact that Yuko shot herself in…
Yeap it was so hard. But no one in this story deserved such an ending (ok except for the ML but still considered his destroyed personality since childhood and memory loss-even his punishment was too much). Sadly, redemption and catharsis can only be done by harsh punishment-speaking in dramatical terms. Great story over all and so beautifully given.
First time i wanted to write a drama review but im still shaking. So i ll write a few things here. Whoever loves greek tragedies, should watch this one. Main heroes in greeek tragedies of classical era same as in this drama, go through: "yvris-atis-nemesis-tisis" (meaning: commit a crime before the eyes of gods-losing their minds and sense of morality-provoke their punishment and finally receive it as the greatest tragedy so that there will come the redemption (or katharsis in greek). It will take your heart and put it gently into a chopping machine. But i ve never watched a story given in such perfect editing and narrative even thoug the production was very low bugdet, the soundtrack repetitive and sometimes off topic, but with such solid performances from the actors. Oh! And if you watch the Korean version too, you can freely spit them at the face for butchering such a great story and make it a parody.
U may find her weird bcz u hvnt seen much of the Japanese dramas lol n its just the character she played ,she…
I recently had a conversation about that supposed "cuteness" of asian depicted characters in dramas/movies. And both my friends and i (also both asians-them-and im greek) we came to the conclusion that its not about cuteness. Its about appearance. Esp women (ok and most Korean actors) look cute. But when it comes to jdramas, when you like dark raw real deep stuff, all this "cuteness" dissapears cause the acting lvl is just above average at the very least. Even here, FL looks n acts sooooo cute like a 10yo girl, but she walked into a cage-like loft, to love a guy who looks darker the the dark itself (and she already had clues when she first did went to him with that bird). Real cuteness (and dumpness) one can easily find in numerous contemporary kdramas-which i love btw- but when i wanna watch something good, i know that jdramaworld will give me plenty.
That's why i said that dramas are not obliged to be anything. No matter how crazy their world is, they have to convince the audience. Some are convinced some are not. As for the dirtyness of the human body and desires, sorry but human history is full of theories, religional/philosofical/cultural that blame the body and sex so to manipulate people. When religions started the dirtyness theories, they couldnt even tell if a symptome was a result of a flu or tumor. Stds and hygiene are not reasons for not having sex or for blaming this natural expression and call it dirty. And you know very well that all the above blamed sex not for these reasons but because of certain morality they wanted to plant into people's minds. Of course there is blame and luckily nowadays people in the civilized world can easily tell whats truth and whats not (at least more than the past). I wont justify religions and cultures who nurtured humanity for thousands of years with these sick theories, the same way i dont justify racists, sexists, nazists etc, Last but not least, our bodies and the way we express love with them, are not dirty, at least not dirtier than life itself. We are born covered with blood and body fluids. That's why sex is not supposed to be clean (and i dont mean hygienic rules and protection). Life itself is bloody and dirty. It is what it is.
I have never encountered such a frustrating female protagonist like in this drama. The male lead, perfectly written...no…
Very bad written character for such a wonderful actress (Rip). I was wating forever to get an explanation about her come back to that sh@tty bf, i mean he could blackmail her, or something to justify her choice...but no! They just ridiculed the whole thing. I fast forwarded to the last scene just to wrap up the whole thing. Such a waste in such a sweet overall drama
Actually she deserved it. Waiting 2 years for that piece of s@ boyfriend and turn her back on Halu to go back to him, hm 3 years wating for Halu were nothing. First time i didnt want the main leads to end up together -considering im a happy ending freak! Such great actress (rip...) and they wrote a completely stupid character for her in such a nice to watch drama in other aspects
As i said previously, i dont blame cultures/religions for every individual that doesnt want or need sex. On the contrary, i said that everyone considers sex the way it fits to his/her needs. Still the blame remains in certain religions and cultures for the rest of the population who thinks bodies are dirty and so as physical intimacy. My comment is placed here and about the certain drama which depicts something unrealistic (not that it has to be realistic, just sayin'). The unrealistic is to show 2 people as virgins to their 30's though when the finally get intimate they show a completely different attitude and you go like: wtf! They got enlightened or something.
Just rewatched it after almost 22 years…I still cried like the first time I watched this whenerver First Love…
I so agree with that: "no dramas have any responsibility....". If you ever read my comment, can you please suggest me some Jdramas from that era you mentioned? Mostly "shocking" ones. Just discovered Jdramaland and im kinda shocked in a good way with the narrative, the storytelling and some very sensitive elementes they dare to touch, digging deep to the darkest areas of human nature (thoug the quality and budget is often low) but still im charmed!
Ok let me ask something: what's wrong with his mother??? It creeps me out even when i slightly think about it! What was that thing she said in 5ep: "i (love you) more (than her)! Bad writing or something else? Anyone else creeping out ???
And...how wonderful her mom is??? I would elope with her mom easily! She is so adorable so kind!
Ugh I lost interest in this drama since when a few guys (if i remember correctly) was going to rape the FL, and…
He couldnt imagine such thing. He saw some of his colleagues asking her questions about a lesson. What did bother me A LOT-i mean REALLY A LOT- was that both times she got bullied (the first one in the toilet) and second when they almost raped her, she didnt report the incidents IMMEDIATELY. Unprofessional, dangerous, pathetic, epsecially when we re talking for the certain school environment. Plus so far away from Japan's strict rules concerning students behavior.
I binge watch this last night but I didnt get any overwhelming feelings on this one. Chugakusei Nikki made me…
My exact thoughts for these 2 dramas. I slightly prefer CN in terms of storytelling. In CN we watched the ML struggling with his emotions (and the FL -less-but we saw that part). Here we get a friendly buddies atmosphere in first 2 ep and than BAM here comes the: "i want to live in a world where i ll be free to say who i love". Ok attraction and love works in mysterious way-i never need justification for emotions, but still when i watch a drama i want to see the inner struggling of a person who falls in love so i can empathize and relate. It has nothing to do with the fact that Majo is that old. Good storytelling has nothing to do with time (netflix thousands of crappy dramas proudly prove that!!) Overall, both dramas have their pros and cons. Majo gives a more suitable age than CN-and i dont mean in terms of taboo etc. But it works better being a minor of 17yo but not that of child of 15, since in that period of our lives, even 1 year makes the difference on the way we feel and react.
I don't judge it like pedophilia, there are many other teacher/student dramas too.I have problem with reason -…
I agree on that "speed" ranting of yours-in terms of dramatization and plotwise-but i dont see how they could make it since Jdramas are so short (chinese got it in that aspect with their 30+ episodes at least hahahahahah). As for speed in emotions, hm i guess that the depiction is quite ok, cause the boy is only 15 and we all been there, in 15 -even much much later on - attraction towards a person comes immediately, no reason included. I mean, the pure animal attraction we ve got as species, the instictive one. As for her, we can clearly see that both her and her fiance, are just "good in papers" as we say in my country. There's admiration, love, but not sparkling enough to be considered as lovers and mates. She smiles with that security smile of a person in a long term relationship, nothing more. There is no passion, no intimacy, more of a sibling vibe than the thing we call "being in love". Its very common after many years together, to make plans for a family without any kind of passion and there's the big trap. So there is already a gap that can be filled by another person-if im allowed to put it that way. I ve watched only 4 ep up to now, i may change my mind a bit, it depends on the story progression.
Another very promising story that went downhill. I dont care being dissapointed while watching a mediocre story, but when it comes to a plot with so many good elements, arghhh its such a waste
I presume you are asking why the kidnapper (who were actually 2 people) kidnapped ML's sister. They aren't shown…
The answer is due to bad writing. The main question when we ve got a murder in a show is: why the killer acted this way? It could be anything, from traumatic childhood which turned him into a monster, to human trafficking, sexual or other kinds of abuse, psychopath/sociopath as a personality etc. But here is pure bad writing.
