I watched this drama and The Dude in Me just now so it's funny to me that Lee Doo Min plays Look Ju-hyun, a vicious bully, while in the movie she was a victim. the fact she's able to pull off both portrayals well shows she's a good actress.
i liked her in Dude in Me, she looked and sounded a lot like a younger Park Shin-hye. she looks completely diff in Revenge of Others but she acts really well. it was whiplash bc in the Dude in Me, she was the victim while in Revenge, she's a vicious bully ... but so convincing in both roles.
why does the daughter - Lee Soo Min - look and sound like a young Park Shin-hye? also it's funny because I watched her in Revenge of Others first and she's the victim of bullying here, not the other way around
one theory about the way evil grandpa speak - went down a Korean history rabbit hole and it seems a lot of the early political and economic elites in post independence S. Korea were educated in Japan (which makes the jokes in Gaus even funnier knowing this now). But evil grandpa was poor before started his business so maybe he's imitating the rich & powerful and speaking a Japanese influenced Korean.
I feel like most of the time, the grandfather doesn't speak Korean but Japanese. Is it a different dialect or…
i had the same thought! I don't even speak Korean, but I can tell he's speaking it very differently. it could be a dialect, but his generation was very influenced by the Japanese, so that also makes sense. it's also very noticeable when his daughter imitated his way of speaking lol
I liked seeing him take apart FL's idea that she's any less privileged than the rest of the elites ... Despite coming from a family of wealthy prosecutors and lawyers
which is a shame, bc I think she's cute, I want to see more of her ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
