This has become one of my favourite dramas. Though the last few episodes weren't as good as the first, it was so funny, sweet and romantic throughout. I enjoyed Ashi Girl so much I want to watch more Japanese historical period dramas now XD anyways Yuina Kuroshima and Kentaro were amazing in this, no wonder their careers were solidified after this drama. You might disagree if Yuina is the cutest Japanese actress but her role as Yui in this drama is one of the most adorable character in the history of dramas and I will die on this hill.
Tl:dr: I cannot recommend Ashi Girl enough, 10/10 would watch again
I don't know if I liked the movie. The cinematography was absolutely gorgeous and the OST was amazing (not just the score, but the ending song sung by Kaya was so pretty). Speaking of Kaya Kiyohara, her acting was so damn good as was that of everyone else. The story was extremely slow but engaging. It was realistic and dark but I found it too depressing for just that reason. I would recommend watching this if you like stories that ask questions about morality, family and what is right and wrong, redemption and if you have have the constitution for extremely grim tales.
It took me a long time to finish this. I felt like it would been better if it had fewer episodes and was more fast paced tbh (although the ending was wrapped way too quick imo). Some things didn't make sense, were too complicated or were just not explored at all. Either way, it was an enjoyable drama, one of the first legal dramas I have watched, so for that I'll give it a 8.5/10 at most.
There was no chemistry between Da Qi and Yu Xin at all. They gave off best friends vibes and they looked like siblings lol. I kept expecting Da Qi's supposedly dead gf to come back or something bc the way they wrote the romance did not work at all.
The leads were so so adorable GAHHHHHHHHH from the way he missed her, to their little interactions. So much chemistry,…
Yup, I love how they subverted that childhood first love trope, I am so tired of how common it is dramas i.e. kdramas and cdramas.
Onigawara is a bit of an idiot in that he clearly loves both Ren and Aiko to death but only talks to them with anger and contempt. With 4 episodes left, I hope he grows out of it and they become a family.
And yes, I hated Karen-san for stealing the NAME and I dread what she is going to do now that she knows that her rival mangaka is a woman. As for the mom, if she's trying to get with Karibe I think he's gonna reject her.
The kiss at the end! Seriously, dude, you have Konishi Sakurako as your girlfriend and you have the temerity to cheat... while she's at the hospital...??
I would like to borrow your glasses to see where the 40% of plot went to cuz i can't see it anywhere xD
Listen, at least there was an attempt at a story. They tried. Anyways, like I said, I'll be watching for Sakurako and Renn rather than the nonexistent plot.

Will definitely check out the movies and dramas you mentioned :)
