this actually sounds really interesting. We need more Asian zombie dramas, I'm really enjoying Kimi to Sekai ga Owaru Hi ni right now, and we need more content like that. Hope it's as dark but deep as Extracurricular.
Now if only Netflix spent so much money, time and effort on making Jdrama Originals. Like, Alice in Borderland, Switched and Erased were all really good, they need to make more like that.
According to a comment on another site: "... Haruto's name can mean Sun and now Sakuya has implications of being a Moon ( his name can mean new moon). So with Ayako he's the moon but with Sakuya he's the sun?... So I rewatched the scene and realized that his name is spelt with the kanji 東朔也; 東 - Azuma means East. 朔 can mean first day or more literally first moon. I also read somewhere that this kanji can also mean Conjunction, as in Astronomy. 也 means the archaic form of the verb 'to be'. So.... to assume that based on him being an astronomical conjunction and the copula verb to be that he is the Eastern tie that binds Haruto and Ayako? Sakuya= √ the switch..."
people think that jdramas are all overacting and cringe and silly storylines bc they watched a LA adaptation one…
People watch anime/read manga, which leads them to live action adaptations, which gives them the wrong idea of what jdramas are like. If they gave other jdramas a try, they'd see what Japan has to offer in terms of dramas. Oh well.
Am I the only one who liked Kim Da-mi and the FL? All the comments on the kdrama subreddit just seem to criticize her. Some of it is fair ig, but I still like Yiseo more than Sooah
I am kinda happy that this drama doesn't have the usual toxic fan following !!! It feels like a hidden community…
On the one hand, it's really sad that jdramas have a very negative reputation among the Asian drama community in general. People think that jdramas are all overacting and cringe because of all the manga LA adaptations. On the other, it feels like we know all the people who like jdramas too bc how small the fanbase is on MDL.
Welcome to the J drama fandom LOL. It's like that on pretty every J drama page. Everyone lets everyone express…
nice to see other people made the same switch as well. I went from kdramas to majority jdramas as well. Weird thing is, I used to be very selective and like only crime or mystery dramas but now I watch jdramas of all genres, even manga adaptations XD Nowadays, I occasionally watch a sci-fi or fantasy or crime kdrama if they even seem interesting,
Are the subs on dramacool good? I might just go ahead and watch it there instead of waiting for Citrine
