I've watched only 6 or so Taiwanese dramas so far but I have to say that "Someday or One Day" and "The World Between Us" were both among the best Asian dramas I've seen so far. Cannot recommend them enough.
This kinda reminded me of Anohana or Your Lie in April. The story is not that unique but still very well-written and very emotionally compelling. I didn't cry but it was a pretty close call at times, ngl. The main cast did a really great job, I could feel the angst, broken hearts, grief and all the other turbulent emotions the characters felt. Special mentions has to go to the cinematography and production value; every scene looked pretty af, especially when the local scenery was displayed (kinda tempted to live in Nagano now, or wherever this was filmed). The soundtrack was also very beautiful and really complemented the drama. 8.9/10 from me.
Yes, ep. 3 was amazing. Any plans to sub the rest? They looked interesting and if they have the same quality of storytelling, they'd be worth watching.
Bro, the end was satisfying but kinda open ended. Did Shiori start a cult of her own? Is the nurse Nanami involved or a victim? And what is up with Nanami's new workplace (the woman with the signs of a beating, etc.)? Can we get a second season?
Don't let the weird summary put you off, this is one of the best Japanese crime dramas I've seen. Feels like Mindhunter or True Detective.
The production value is so damn high and each scene looks like a neo-noir painting of dark hues. The music is intense, very classical but modern and conveys the grim and suspenseful mood effectively. The writing is top notch, far better than any Japanese drama I have seen so far and will keep you glued to your screen. Every actor in the cast did an amazing job, except for a few minor characters here and there.
Yes, the first episode is kinda slow, a bunch of seemingly unrelated characters and storylines are thrown at you. Power through that and you will get to enjoy a masterful story. Amazing visuals, OST and well written, suspenseful plot. 9/10.
Okay, so it was a okay movie, perfect to pass the time. Nagano Mei did a really great job here and she had major chemistry with the ML. The production value was really quite good for a Japanese production. The plot was nothing special but as a previous commentor noted, the banter and the cute moments between the main characters were great.
