Speaking of India, this drama had the budget, special effects and the production value of your avg Indian "fantasy" show on SAB or Sony TV like Balveer (i.e. low on all counts). However, Moribito was quite good. The acting was great and you could tell the writers gave alot of thought to worldbuilding. The pacing was a bit slow though and there's a lot of exposition and flashbacks. If you're into fantasy and action, I'd recommend watching if you have nothing else to watch. 8/10 (asiancrush app).

This reminded me of the East Asian shows I'd watch in between Ninja Hattori and Takeshi's Castle when I was 7-9 back home in India, tbh. Got hit with a strong dose of nostalgia.

It's so tragic how the June 1987 protests inspired so much change in S. Korea while the Tiananmen Square ended in a massacre.

This sounds like Train except with time travel and a mom instead of a love interest.

Also, the guys in this drama are normal-looking but almost every female actress looks like a gorgeous supermodel. Just like your normal, average high school.

This was only my third Japanese drama and I heard so many great reviews. But honestly, it felt like something was missing. The plot was well thought out and Suda Masaki does a great job but I only got invested in ep. 7 or 8. The pacing was off in the earlier episodes and it was initially very slow; the frequent melodrama, crying, students being dumb and beating up each other, Hiraagi and several innocent furniture just got tedious at some points. Nevertheless, the messages the drama teaches are very important and I can't lie, I did like the drama despite myself towards the end. I would recommend watching this for yourself and then judging, maybe you'd like it more than me. 8.3/10.

What an amazing movie. It started off very slow and confusing; I'm not Korean so I didn't know most of the context and the historical figures. But wow, I got so engrossed in this tale of brave, ordinary people standing up against a cruel regime, knowing well that their families and very lives on the line. The last half hour just broke me emotionally, fantastic movie, 9.5/10. I would recommend everyone to watch, this is necessary viewing. Bravo to all the courageous and patriotic pro-democracy activists who risked everything so that their country and people could be free.

I watch Kdramas mostly through Netflix and their translators do skip a lot of the nuances. Sometimes it doesn't matter (have you noticed how they say "punk" a lot and skip a lot of the honorifics?) but other times you might miss a lot of details that are important to the plot. I don't have a lot of experience with these sorts of things but I think Viki has the best model - a team of dedicated fans who translate everything, providing proverbs, cultural context, honorifics, literal translations.

In all honesty, Chinese companies should consider hiring bilingual translators who have experience with the English language *and* understand the nuances of Chinese languages and cultures to create English content for their dramas, the way Crunchyroll does. It'll help them achieve greater popularity outside China.

It also means when something is completed, but yeah the primary meaning is sexual. I want to know the thought process behind the English title.
