Honestly I would ask you to make the judgment yourself, many love him and others don't. One thing that we can agree on is that he is not a simple SML and when you think you know his true agenda/story.....think again. Also, Wang Duo excelled as an actor while playing this role.

Ugh, I know he will go back to her 😫, she IS the FL. For me, her behavior is not acceptable, I hate it when shows use "protection" as an excuse to be a sh*tty person. NO, you don't lie, gaslight and make your partner suffer like that. It really gives me major ick.
Honestly guys, I really don't care what her reason is, he should not go back to her. If it was a man doing the same thing on ep 1 we would be calling him a toxic liar and unloyal a*hole. The ML needs to stick to his revenge plan and not deviate, period!
I hope he sticks to his revenge and locks in, I would hate for this drama to go for the predictable romantic misunderstanding trope. If not, give him a second love interest to help him with his plotting, like in most female led revenge stories.

You and me are on the same page, I really resonated with this part "MXL hates NYX but Pearl loved Fate for thousands of years. I'd be hella confused with my feelings and emotions too if I were her." It was fascinating to see MXL grapple with her emotions after regaining those 10,000+ years of memories between Pearl and TMS, especially as she ultimately chose romantic love over familial bonds.
