Thank you, thank you, thank you! These wholesale comments have been troubling me as well.
I think he doesn't have more children because he finds the whole saga exhausting. He does the bare minimum so that he wont be accused of shirking his responsibility of continuing the family line. The only one he doesn't seem to have favored so far is Qiao and I believe that's because she is already being favored by his mother. If she had a child as well she would be insufferable and he can barely tolerate her now. Besides he offered her a way out to marry someone else and she refused so he has already made a major concession by allowing her into his home.
Am I not used to this type of drama or is the acting a little off in the first episode? I have seen both actresses that play the leads in something else before so I know they can deliver - maybe its the script. I will keep watching because I love the source material this is based on.
Ya she is bloody irritating. Her crocodile tears, smug and delusion. Saw previews of 19 and 20 on Weibo. She is…
I couldn't bring myself to hate her because she is just so desperate but boy is she pushing my limits. I can understand her targeting Shi Yi and even trying to kill the little boy because they are obstacles to her desired wish - so that she can be the main wife. But harming Da Niang who is pregnant is just cruel. I will see how it goes, maybe its an accident and she just shifts the blame to Shi Yi because she is a constant opportunist.
Side note - she probably doesn't realize that even if his son and wife died the Marquis would never take her in/favor her because she so fake and he sees it
i think in china the ratings are really low bc of a scene with a chinese guy in the first episode. but it's ridiculous
I am just guessing here but I think that Chinese citizens would not like that the only Chinese character presented is one who: 1- is building a vault to hide his gold, 2 - chooses to put said vault in Korea as opposed to his home country 3- presumably his doing that to either avoid paying taxes on his wealth or to hide ill gotten gains (either behavior would be seen in a less than positive light), 4- then when the Chinese character dies here comes this foreigner taking advantage of that, 5 - the character was referred by Vicenzo father, the Don in a mafia family..... all of that in a scene that wasn't even 5 mins long.
Just watched ep 15-16, wow! So much is packed in ep 15. Yeah Daddi Tang makes his appearance in ep 15. I wonder…
I am also curios about what shenanigans she was referred but I don't think that it was poisoning the first wife. NVM, I just further rethought it and considering how favoured she is by the MIL she would be visiting often. While I don't think the MIL was part of the scheme to get rid of the first wife (she doesn't strike me as evil she just indulges Qiao who is evil). It wouldn't take alot for one of those visits to get a person in the household that she could influence to do the poisoning.
ratings gonna drop after 20-28arc hmm what a wasted opportunity some drama have great start but they fail flat…
Am thinking that the bandit's sponsor is the major villian in the palace. There is no better way to stop an army from going to war in another country than if there is insecurity in your backyard. I see that, but I still think this arc is boring.
I know, I just wanted to rub it in a little more. I don't like that I want bad people to suffer when they do bad things but I do- Its kind of gratifying to see these fictional characters get their richly deserved comeuppance but I know it not a good trait.

He is like a teenager with his first crush.

Other than that its ok! Not terrible but not great.
