Tried watching it but can't get past the first few episode. Just not grabbing me.

Found this terribly bland, dropped @ 4 and I skipped a lot to there.
Didn't care about the leads getting together in the slightest.

I'm just blasting through the Day of Becoming You at the moment which I'm really enjoying. I'll try RRLITP next and let you know how I go.

nice thanks - I should really gen up on some Chinese history, I've picked up a bit of Korean history from Dramas and Japanese from books.

Thanks for the very informative reply - my knowledge of Chinese history is poor so I knew little about the characters and even the era before watching the show. I wasn't expecting historical accuracy and enjoyed the show for the leads acting and relationship. What's RRLITP to save me hunting through the Rs?

I've watched the beginning credits of this drama more than any other I can think of - so many of the scenes are etched into my memory that I would have them as desktop backgrounds. The rest of the show is carried by the actors with a manufactured crisis every episode and a Deus ex machina style escape for the heroine only. The first 40 episodes were the best for me, I've put it on hold at 62. Worth a watch but repetitive when you binge watch.

Well that unbiased and objective review by a connoisseur of Kdramas convinced me, I'll just pop back and change my score.

The only character I liked in the end was I Na which is why it is languishing at On Hold in my queue. The rest of them I ranged from 'I don't care' to genuine dislike.

Got to episode four and this isn't for me. I watched the other outings from this team but this one has defeated me.

I got a little further but the whole sexist controlling thing was too much

I find the school thing uninteresting but I've only watched an episode as I prefer waiting for it to complete before truly launching in.

With the script they use yes I'd say so, concentrate on the main couple and the truth thing and you'd get a reasonable movie. As it is it's notable only for having a black lass who is totally normal and treated as such by everyone.
