I'm just glad that I watch this while it was airing every time after a drama finished airing people will complain…
When a show is still airing people will mostly comment on an episode by episode basis. So during this time you'll only get a snapshot of the viewers' opinions up to a certain episode. Every drama will have its strong moments making it more likely that you'll see balanced opinions. Even if an episode happens to be bad, people will still have expectations that it might get better later.

On the other hand, once done airing you'll get people's opinions based on the complete show. And arguably the ending is a drama's most important part and where a lot of (otherwise good) dramas mess up and become mediocre overall (my opinion at least). Incidentally, it's also the part that leaves the most lasting impression and thus plays an important role on how people rate a drama.

Also, the viewing experience is totally different when you binge watch a drama compared to waiting days between episodes. Flaws will become a lot more apparent when you watch everything in one go. You'll naturally forget some details if there is more time between episodes after all.

In conclusion, I don't think it's generally people 'bashing' finished dramas. Rather that you can't really compare the comments during airing and after airing since they aren't made based on the same premise.

Cha Young Min's and Go Seung Taek's interactions made this a worthwhile watch. Otherwise the drama was quite lacking in my opinion. The two female leads were completely wasted on the story, especially Oh So Young. The antagonists didn't really convince me and a lot of the side characters and their stories felt shallow and were left mostly unexplored. The ending was also quite rushed. Overall the drama gets off to a good start, but then it drifts off not really knowing where it wants to go.

'You Are My Glory' is pretty similar in my opinion.
If you’re not too fixated on older/more successful female leads, there are quite a few C dramas with non-naive/strong-willed FLs and MLs that are not emotionless

Can anyone recommend some similar Cdrama where the FL is the more "mature", successful or older one in the relationship.…

I agree, the rating should be much higher. I've just been wondering about the ratings in this site. I noticed…
It’s a valid assumption on your part, however if you check the ratings by age group (next to the rating at the top there is a button to view the statistics) the data doesn’t seem to support this. In fact, the two oldest age brackets (55-64 and 65+) have the lowest average ratings of 8.38 and 8.0 respectively.

Most comments bashing the FL should mostly come down to her not being your average FL, and this also not being…
Mostly, yes. At least for the main leads. There are a few side characters who have tragic endings though.

What did the FL do? Why do people hate her? Did she cheat? Spoilers please.
Most comments bashing the FL should mostly come down to her not being your average FL, and this also not being a normal romance story. The FL is tough, she's out for revenge and during the first half of the story she believes (for valid reasons) that the ML is her enemy, because he works for the man responsible for her father's death. She leads the ML on, who is in love with her. She uses him to get close to his master. She basically fakes her feelings for him and makes the ML believe she loves him. (I believe she has some feelings for him, but she doesn't let them influence her decisions)

I guess some people hate her because they feel bad for the ML who is innocent but gets used by her. Also, even then. she doesn't really cheat. While being married, she gets close to another man, having dinner with him on a few occasions and leading him on a bit to get information, but imo that doesn't really constitute as cheating (and at the time the ML is still an enemy to her).

I believe it all boils down to what perspective you see the FL's actions from. From the ML's perspective she is a real bitch during the first half of the drama. He loves her while she only uses him as simple as that. However, from her perspective she is using and betraying a man who is involved in her father's murder. Personally, I quite like how the drama puts the viewer in a moral dilemma since both sides technically have good reasons for their behavior.

Btw, the leads become a real power couple during the second half of the drama and their chemistry is great in my opinion.

Is this drama good? Does the leads have great romance and chemistry? I have read somewhere that the fl cheats,…
The ML is the favorite disciple of the man the FL believes is responsible for her father's death. She marries the ML in order to get closer to his master to get revenge on him. The ML is truly in love with the FL while she marries him under false pretenses. She grows to love him later on (about midway through the drama) and they make a very nice couple imo (good chemistry, both are competent and help each other, sacrifice themselves for the other etc.)

Before their real relationship starts, they divorce each though. If you want to count this as a break up since technically it was mostly a 'fake relationship' since the FL didn't marry out of love but for her revenge. They only really fall in love with each other afterwards.

As far as I'm concerned the FL didn't cheat on the ML. While they are married, she gets close to another man to get information from him for her revenge. However, nothing really happens between them, they have dinner together and she leads him on, but finally turns him down when she has what she wants. Not like she had an affair or anything, and you also have to keep in mind that this is during the time when she still believes the ML is her enemy.

As to whether the drama is good, I quite liked it. The story gets pretty dark at times though so be prepared for some sad scenes. Also, some side characters' stories develop very tragically.

I’m at ep 4 and I have a very strong premonition who the murderer is. However, I really hope that I’m wrong tbh, because if it is indeed who I think it is it would be huge letdown. I really hope they are going for something more unpredictable and innovative. Fingers crossed!

I'm sorry but this drama is exactly why C dramas get a bad rep...I love Reba but why, oh, why did she sign up…
Can you elaborate what you mean? Preferably, without any major spoilers since I haven't watched this yet. Still contemplating whether I should. Thanks!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a drama with more toxic characters than those in DYLB.

I started watching this when it aired but put it on hold soon after. Now, coming back to it almost a year later I remember why I didn’t finish it in the first place.

Really?? Don't see him bratty at all. Even when he has moments of acting young.. I think overall how he handles…
I'm on ep 17 already, so by now I'll just grind through it until the end, regardless of the character development. Also, it's not like I'm not enjoying it. To be fair, the interactions between the leads are really good :D In fact, it has all the spice I kind of missed in 'The Rational Life', though I liked the show it was a bit bland in terms of physical interaction. On the other hand, I really liked the ML there.

I understand the reasoning, however that doesn't really add to his personality in my opinion. For the other people he's working with this is not just a game after all but their source of income. He's acting completely irresponsibly not caring about anyone but himself and his lover. Betraying his selfishness and his immaturity.

In addition, how does he want to finance his life as a music major if he screws up all his chances in the industry? Does he want to live off of Lin Yang's money then? Acting rashly and not thinking of the consequences are all characteristics of an immature child.

Of course, everything will work out at the end, it's a drama after all, but I know people like this IRL and despise this kind of behavior. Thus, I'm probably overreacting with regards to the ML.

By now I'm on episode 14, though I was on ep 9 when I wrote my previous comment. To clarify, I'm mostly concerned about his attitude towards his job, not so much how he acts with regards to the FL. Though there are times where he behaves immature when he interacts with her this actually makes sense, considering he has no experience (I'm also no really bothered by this). However, his professional (or rather unprofessional) attitude is very off putting to me. That's what I was referring to / complaining about.

The ML doesn’t behave like someone in their mid-twenties, more like he’s in his mid-teens. Not really a fan of bratty leads, hope this improves, otherwise I’ll have to drop this.

Finished this after putting it on hold for more than 2 years. I don't like overly loud, bubbly and vivacious leads (and the FL here takes this to another level). I don't think I've ever seen a lead character as crazy (while being mentally healthy) as this FL.

However, I'm glad I came back to finish this. While the first few episodes felt like a chore to me, with the FL stumbling from one cringy situation to another, I actually came to love her. Whenever the theme song started playing I found a big smile on my face. I don't even know why, but this drama just made me feel good. Glad I watched it and a real shame the lead actress retired, she's brilliant.
