Yep, like Navya replied already, in this one, there is only more friendship rather than that bromance feeling. Dramas like Untamed and Word of Honor are more up there in regards on borderline crossing censorship from bromance to romance. But it still is pretty good! Could have been better, but actors played their roles very well and fitted good together

In case anyone is interested in this info, I will leave it here: donghua\animation is up until chapter 58 of the novel; while it skips and seems fastforward at some scenes, it's pretty loyal to the novel as there is no romance until that chapter. It's already complete so if you know chinese, you can watch all 16 episodes. Haven't saw any confirmation for season 2 tho,...Considering the good pace the donghua had, I would say that around 36 episodes for the live action would have been enough. 48 episodes screams for filler episodes which might give some background to some characters.

Just please don't compare S Korea with China BL...South Korea has barely something for BL content...They don't censor it since they don't even film it! If they do and i missed something, then i gladly accept recs with good kdramas that have content like these one ( and i mean dramas, not poor quality made movies). I agree on the Thai BL's, but Thailand has come a great way and has different mentality and they still have long way to reach a good lenghty quality in production drama. While Thailand succeeds in being open minded, they fail on the post -production side and budget.

He truly is flawless! And the quality of the production makes him look at his finest!

I feel like this drama might make Simon Gong even more popular and possible candidate for other main roles for wuxia or historical series! He fits so well in these costumes and long haired..and that flirty smile of his is top notch! He fits this role really really well! Glad that he was casted!

Unless they announced something new in the last few days, Haoyixing is slotted to be aired in mid -to-late March. As for the trailer... China is known for dropping trailer at the same day as when they release episodes, so don't count on a trailer very soon. Word of Honor, which aires now, had their trailer dropped just as mentioned above.

Yasss! Being able to communicate with people who like to watch and read same stuff is fun and nice! Also, yeeess! the audio drama is very very nice. I do feel tho that the voice actor is different from the one that does the voice for the donghua.Meng Xi Shi style writing, for me, is up in the rankings! It's neat and clean! And quite playful also!

Hehehe, Wushi sure is a complex character! Shame that full novel isn't completely translated yet! Cannot wait to read more of this universe as the author has a nice style of telling things.

Based on some articles on Chinese websites, this will air on 23.02. No news of trailer yet tho, so they might make an The Untamed on us and drop the trailer a few hours prior releasing episodes. Since it will be released on Youku..,international fans might struggle with finding subs at release time. And Immortality drama was also mentioned in the articles as being scheduled for March broadcast until April, tho this is contradictory with other info that mentioned that they have a slot for it at the end of February.

Live-action or not, I started to read the novel and it's such a nice feast to the heart! Barely on chapter 26 but Wushi is such a sarcastic lil devil! It would be awesome if we would be able to watch this in live action if they will ever make it.

:) You're welcome! Yeah, unlike other countries, China releases many episodes from the start (at least the dramas released online; the TV released ones are different)! I still remember when all of the sudden, with no prior announcement, The Untamed aired with 6 full episodes! It was a feast!

Probably as most Tencent dramas get released: 2 episodes per day; 3 days per week. For VIP having a start of 6+episodes in the 1st day.

I almost never watch movies, but the trailer of this one made me do it. Gorgeous CGI (which is very rare for Chinese movies), charismatic characters, good actors and perfect music for the background. It has a lil bit of everything: some bromance, palace royal life, fantasy due to the Evil Snake and the guardians, some romance which might have made me a tad emotional and even a tiny bit of comedy. Cannot wait to see the sequel which the ending begs for! Overall, I would definitely recommend to be watched..though I do consider that this whole plot would have been better fitted for a drama with more episodes. It would have been nice to see the background of the masters and the evil serpent:)
