We got the mayhem, now whose body is in the bag that's shown at the start of ep1??? Sooooo many candidates on Hee Joo's sh!t list 🤣 this episode made me crack open a bottle of wine, on my feet screaming, this is SOOOOOO GOOOOD
He's amazing in Soulmate, give it a shot if you haven't watched it. He was also the lead in a few other dramas, more recently Jang Dae Geum is Watching. The scene where he played Freddie Mercury was weirdly spot-on lol
The scene with the dragon screens wouldn't have been out of place in The Throne, in terms of quality of presentation and delivery by the photography, direction, and actors. Everything about it was breathtaking.
This episode was aaaaaall sorts of messed up - loved it. Hae Won continues to manipulate everyone around her, Hee Joo calling her out on her victim complex doesn't get any mileage, she's too far deluded and committed to see anything rationally.
At this point I'm pinning my hopes on Hee Joo's brother to somehow foil Hae Won's plans. We know someone dies from the first scene in the first episode, we know he's an ex con that served time (or was somehow punished?) for a murder, we know he knows Hae Won's secrets (plying Woo Jae with drugs without him knowing about it, saw her at the store where she bought the Dracula mask when he met up with Ho Su in ep 9, etc.) I hope that, if that church lady doesn't let him forget he was a murderer, he goes the whole way and kills Hae Won for Hee Joo, her husband, and Woo Jae. That woman needs to be stopped, and we know we're headed for a tragic ending.
Otherwise, he's a very useless character 🤣 love you, Dong Wook, but it's true.
Bring on the murder and mayhem because I have a Penthouse-sized hole in my drama list right now, and this one is fitting it quite nicely.
I think JKY is good in non-romantic roles but in this, and WWW - almost exactly the same story (career-focused,…
Yeah I agree with you on JKY, he was serviceable in My Mister and The Boy Next Door, and probably is more of a director (and script, please, it's all so cringe) issue here. SHK has no excuse, though, even some Korean media is side-eyeing her.
That scene at the start was bait to get people to watch, it really was unnecessary. The only thing that it contributed was me thinking that SHK's character must be amazing in bed, for this guy to constantly be demanding her attention. Dude it was a 1-night stand, why is he making demands of her. Did he really decide he wanted to keep sleeping with his brother's ex. I mean, come on.
Speaking of soft porn, the soundtrack they use also reminded me of such productions, like something just thrown together because they forgot they needed music playing. I thought Kenny G would start playing at any time. It's all so cheesy.
And don't get me started on the illusion of a strong career woman, who happens to need rescuing by a man in order to get out of tight spots constantly. It's pathetic, not swoony.
The bromance there was a hefty counterbalance, I loved how they built their relationships before everything went to hell, yeah. I'm sure this one will, I'm hoping it will!
It reminds me a bit of how Mr Sunshine balanced out the witty and funny dialogues with eeeeveeerything else. I'm here for the ocean of tears I hope will come after this warm buildup
