The drama was fantastic until Woo Jae got back his memory and everyone else lost their remaining brain cells. Took me three days to get through the last episode, I'm so disappointed.
- why bother making this family live in a gated complex if they're going to show WJ and HW constantly breaching security? Was someone letting them in or did they keep jumping the fence? This bothered me to no end (I know.. Of all the things to bother me, there you go.)
- once the affair was totally revealed and WJ and HW kept appearing everywhere, why wouldn't HJ or her husband file restraining orders against them? With all the power this family wields, the decision to let them continue harassing them was baffling.
- how did the kidnapper get released to stab HW???
- my conclusion: HW is one petty mf. To be that obsessed over a man WHO NEVER CARED FOR HER, enough to manipulate so many people, destroy so many lives, that's twisted. HJ's husband keeping WJ in a medically induced comma for years was disgusting - effectively no different than a kidnapper. HJ betrayed her family and her friend, but imo the punishment didn't fit the crime. 🤷♀️
The story ended up no better than Swiss cheese, so many holes. How disappointing.
Deok Im is probably insurance. If she can't help get Yi San replaced, at least she can get control via Deok Im.
Yeah, between her desire to live her life as she wants (as far as she's allowed to, anyway), and her loyalty to San, it helped to strengthen her resolve. Idk why she thought Deok Im would play along with her. She seems to think she knows her well enough, she should've known she wouldn't be willing to be a puppet.
he's a damn good actor, but whenever the camera zooms in on him or he makes a cute facial expression the junho…
My Junho journey has been building for a while as both, but yeah back then I was surprised to learn he was an idol 😂
He fits this role so well, his acting feels effortless. His naughtiness, his emperor aura, his shyness they all get to intermingle, right? This is looking like the role of his career, but I hope he gets to shine even more brightly in the future. He's finally blooming 🥰

I was thinking about that.. He is *excellent*, I didn't know he was an idol till my third drama with him! But now my idol fangirl heart sometimes breaks my immersion, which makes me need to rewatch it, it's still a win-win 🤣
I know it's important to separate the actor (or in this case idol) from the character, but that very last bit was par for the course re: his Souzou / 50 shades era. My phone flew across the room (happy to report it landed on the sofa).
isnt the male lead an already famous idol? i guess he already have a successful career... i liked the FL in memorist…
Wok of Love is fantastic eye candy and the otp has some of the best skinship and chemistry. All else is a throwaway, sadly, but totally worth it just for that 😁
https://youtu.be/ng_mclTi__o mbc releasing all sorts of content now. They’re really working hard hahah
Most MBC Drama YouTube videos are geolocked (at least in the US), so here's the same video on Twitter (it's also on their ig).
Besides this color grading video, they have one on cgi which also includes a peek at the storyboard for the dragon screen scene from ep3. Love all these technical videos 😊
Somebody explain to me how some oppas looks so much better in costume, period dramas then they do in modern day…
The best thing about Wok of Love was all the shots showing him walking *away* from the camera. Guy knows his best angle (especially back then when he had a bit more weight on him)
It's based on a novel with a sad ending, based on historical figures with a sad ending. Odds are this one will…
There's also a lot of information that was only available after the novel was published, so despite the excellent research for the novel, the drama has a more expansive source material to draw from. I'm hopeful the novel will be available in translation in the future, but I'm even more hopeful a script book for the drama would be 😁

Open it with Chrome and choose to translate through the three dot menu on the mobile app version, or on the right side of the address bar if opening on the desktop app version.

Gotta love Junho chastising Seyoung for being shy at seeing him in the tub ~ "you'll see everything anyway. "
My god.
