A dissapointment, despite my love for the cast
I have a very soft spot for Choi Woo Sik. He is one of my favourites in Korea since Our Beloved Summer. I just love seeing him act and does his magic with his soft personality and great acting that makes every role he takes has depth. But unfortunately, even my favourite could not save this cliche and very superfacial story. The things i hate the most bad rom-coms is that there is no actual context of the characters to full in love. No fluttering moments, no time to bond, no details to make you feel like ahh please just kiss already. His confession was so badly timed, the emotional development was non-existent. Even the very beautiful Jung So Min could not move my heart in this drama.
OSTs were bad, nothing actually worth hearing..
I am all in for light rom-coms that let you watch the show without deep thoughts and just for enjoyment, but ONLY when there are actual real emotional attachement in them. "Empty" would be the perfect word to describe it.
It just make me upset cause since years, every Jung So Min drama was so good. Why would they agree to such soulless show. :(

What is this mess?
I rarely dislike a show. I am very easy-going and just enjoy most of the things i watch. But this drama despite it's GREAT casting, beautiful music it failed so bad.The story itsself is bad, especially for a veteran kdrama watcher. It just has many pieces of many hit dramas combined together, with a new plot. Even the build-up to the final plot was so confusing that i lost interest.
Very cliche adopted brother and sister relationship that just gets worse, and the relationship between Jay and Hongrang is even worse. You just can't feel what they are feeling and it makes no sense time-wise. When did all of that happen?
It was really boring with zero excitment for the next episode.

Healing. Warm. Fun.
I literally expected NOTHING when I started watching the show and I knew NOTHING about it. I watched it because I like the leads and wanted something that looks warm.BUT oh my god. What was that? It felt like a syringe full of medicine that heals your worries and gives you warmness.
It was a weird mixture of "Run On" and "Fix You". A beautiful drama filled with communication, talking, conversations and MORE communication. It's one that makes your eyes teary with simple sentences, makes you cry in one short scene and makes you laugh most of the time.
I loved the characters and everything.

Here is your positive review - i loved it!
I am so glad i watched the drama before watching the reviews here!!!I enjoyed every moment of this drama and it's a shame that it came to an end.
The best i could describe this drama is that it took a great parts of kdramas and inserted them in one.
The beginning reminded me of The King, fast paced, amazing bickering chimesty. Suzy (FL) personality reminds me of IU from Hotel del Luna, a character i longed for for a long time. A fantasy that reminds me of goblin yet less complicated/dramatic.
I really loved Suzy acting this time; her acting always seems lacking somehow and either a hit or miss, but this time i feel like she infused the role and the role became her.
Woo Bin character was so fun to watch, he had this very unserious funny role and i thought at the beginning that it would be hard to watch, but honestly he nailed it. And he never lost his charisma in the process, it's Woo Bin after all!
Regarding the story, it started very very quickly, never turned boring and never got too complicated. It was a delight watch.
If you are looking for something as heavy as goblin, or expecting some insane plot like mouse/signal, this drama is not for you. This drama was made to be easy to watch and to enjoy very lightly, and they ALL did amazing job doing that.
Highly recommended for quick laughs with beautiful emotions, and breathtaking visuals of the one and only Suzy.

I almost passed by this beauty
It took me two years to know that this drama existed. I found out about it accidently under another kdrama description on Netflix. Oh man, what a GREAT watch.I am not a huge fan of Jang Dong Yoon. I only enjoyed "The Tale of Nokdu" from his previous shows, never stood out to me other than that. But he did absolutly perfect in this drama. Man he nailed the very well written character with his stable and balanced acting. The chemistry between him and the FL is so good. I really enjoyed the cheesy feelings and the butterflies i got from them, i enjoyed their tika taka and constant cute bickering. I found myself smiling often due to their great synergy.
If you are looking for a very light drama in a small town near the beach about friends and cute love, i recommend this!

If you missed NANA, this will break you all over again
A love so strong, it lasts decades.A love so strong, it takes over your life.
You and Everything Else is about two friends who’ve known each other since elementary school, and whose relationship defies definition. Both live with an inferiority complex toward the other. There’s jealousy, insecurity, and a constant feeling of not being enough. And yet, they love each other so deeply that it hurts.
It’s not just friendship.
It’s not romance either.
It’s not family, but it doesn’t fall short of it.
If you’ve watched NANA (the anime), you’ll understand that weird, aching feeling, the one that lingers every time the two main leads interact. That sense of something unspoken, raw, and deeply emotional. This drama gave me that same feeling for a full 15 episodes.
The acting was phenomenal. Both leads were real, raw, and honest — you could feel the emotions in every glance, every silence. The production and music were equally beautiful.
I loved getting lost in the confusion, intensity, and emotional chaos of their bond. It was a deeply moving experience — and one I won’t forget anytime soon.

An Underrated drama overshadowed by unfair criticism
From the very first episode, When the Stars Gossip faced an overwhelming wave of negativity, and unfortunately, it never quite recovered. It seems that once a drama gets labeled in a certain way, the criticism only snowballs from there. With every new episode, people nitpicked relentlessly, dragging the drama down until it hit rock-bottom ratings.I understand that expectations were sky-high, especially with such a star-studded cast, particularly the male lead, who drew much anticipation. However, disappointment shouldn’t automatically translate into hate. A significant portion of the backlash stemmed from superficial reasons, such as the perception that the female lead looked older than the male lead. While I acknowledge that this might not have been what some viewers envisioned, I hardly think it’s a justifiable reason to completely dismiss the drama.
Despite its historically low rating of 6.6, I decided to give it a fair chance—and I’m glad I did. It turned out to be an enjoyable adventure, far from the disaster it was made out to be. While I wouldn’t call it the best drama I’ve ever watched, I genuinely appreciated the storyline, the plot development, and the overall acting. The chemistry between the leads worked well for me, and the supposed “age gap issue” didn’t feel distracting at all.
If you’re hesitant about watching this drama due to the harsh criticism, I’d say give it a shot and judge for yourself. You might just find it to be an unexpectedly delightful journey among the stars.

Weird hate towards a draama that does not deserve it
After watching some reels when the show first aired, i thought this was going to be a gloomy show. I read many comments from the audience talking about how the FL is not a good person and how the ML is helpless and weak. I was discouraged to watch it thinking this is going to be some pathetic drama with love triangles and such.NO. This was not the case. The unwavering love of the ML to the FL since he was a child is beautiful. It is something i always love to see in dramas especially when it is excuted properly.
The surprise for me was that the FL also loved the ML since the beginning of the show without a second of doubt. She never judged him for being fat and geniunly cared for him all the time, even after spending 10 years apart.
The complexity of the emotions and the traumas they share because of their familes is very understandable. I always understood the FL decisions to runaway and not allowing herself to be in love with the ML.
The friends group is very heartwarming and the atmosphere of the drama is noy gloomy or sad at all.
Another great acting by Lee Se Young.

You really really have to watch this.
If you love simple, warm slice of life dramas/shows/movies you gonna love this so much.Reply 1988 vibes. I never expected myself to cry watching a variety show, but in the last episode, I cried.
Very realistic and practical start showing us the ultimate hardships of the first day, the awkward communication between the actors and the locals. Slowly, everything starts to get in it's place and the actors become one of the locals and the show becomes just super heartwarming.

I hope someone ignores the bad ratings and reviews like me and gives it a try.
Most of the time I focus too much on the ratings and reviews when I watch something I know nothing about, I was really really excited about this drama when it was airing because of the cast but because of the ratings and reviews, I couldn't bring myself to watch it. It felt like even if I watched it then I wouldn't have liked it.First of all, I strongly recommend you binge-watching this drama. Don't watch it if you don't have time to finish it in few days. because it has so many events and it changes a lot so if you take some time away from it, you wouldn't feel the characters well, and that's why people hated it probably.
My favorite part about the drama was how realistic it is. A lot of us were in a dramatic love when we were young and this person can never leave our minds, just hearing their name brings so many memories back.
I really loved how cool the male main lead is in the first episodes and how he becomes a fool and pathetic but still in a way that we won't hate him. I loved how the female main lead finds love something really important and how she likes him no matter how many misunderstandings happen. I think the many twists are a disadvantage to the drama because you get tired a bit but i really loved how they still make you smile and not tired of their exhausting love.

this show IS blooming
I just finished watching the drama. I wanted to write a review because there are many negative ones, so I wanted to add a positive one.A very light-hearted Saguk that reminds you of the good old days. Great chemistry, comedy, action, and a bit of melo.
The drama IS good—the main story, plot, and development. There were no boring episodes at all.
I'd really like to mention the casting since no one has talked about it yet, if you're a veteran in the K-drama world you would know that all of the old actors in this drama are big-shot actors with long years of experience. The king, left counselor, right counselor, and prime minister. The friend of the female lead is a great actress who is widely recognized lately. I don't want to forget to mention PHS and how godly he is.
I loved the chemistry between the leads, they are so fun to watch and they had real appearance time in each episode. I hate it when side stories go on for episodes without focusing on the leads, which happens a lot in Saguk dramas, especially those with 20 episodes.
You can tell that the female lead was very nervous in the first episode since it's her first major role but her acting gets so much better going further.
Highly recommended if you're looking for a not-so-complicated historical drama with many funny and cute scenes.

A high quality light drama that ended too quickly
Amidst all the hate that this drama is getting, i have to admit that i really enjoyed it. I started this drama last week thinking that it has already ended, only to be surprised that only 7 episodes were aired. It was so hard to wait that long week. The start was so entertaining, the character buildup and realations between them did not feel forced or awkward at all which is so important to me.
Go Minsi carried and totally nailed the role. Her acting, face expressions, dialect, voice, everything about her was great for the role. Kang Haneul did great as usual.
The spin-off in Japan was a bit forced to be fair, wasn't really related or enjoyable. It would have been much better if they replaced it with more depth into the original story. The ending was good but again too quick.
Overall i enjoyed it a lot. It's not "deep" or "heavy" drama, it's a light story that was excuted in a fun way.

Too much negative reviews for this beautiful show so i'm writing a positive one.
Fantasy romance drama fans, hello. We love Korean fantasy stories and how they make super unique characters and make us fall in love with them and the story. Of course, there were many dramas that failed, but this one made it.
What I want to talk about the most is how this show didn't use any non-likeably characters just to make more content. All the characters in the drama are likable.
I really don't like when the characters fall in love too fast with each other, trying to emphasize the modern culture of fast relationships, I also hate it when the characters keep fighting the whole series and only in the end they fall in love with each other. BUT this show had the perfect timing for everything. not too fast, not too slow.
Super handsome Seo In Guk, amazingly adorable Park Bo Young, the perfect chemistry made the show even more beautiful. I also like how they talked without honorifics since the start.
It's been a while since I shed some tears, but this show was able to do it!
Very recommended.

The most underrated kdrama to this day -- A rivew after the 6th watch
Due to the male lead being the best friend of the ex husband of the female lead in real life, this show was not accepted well in Korea. For international fans that are obssesed with bad shows like true beauty, they don't get the maturity of this masterpiece. This drama is a wild ride, a ride of joy, healing and growth. A drama that shows you what a healthy love is and how to "love". It feels like a novel, like a poetry, like the warmth of the spring sun after a long european winter. The writer of this drama intentionally made the script feel like some sort of novel, every conversation they exchange feels straight out of a book. How they comfort each other, how they love each other, how they express their feelings.
Starting with cuba, the first two episodes make you so invested in this dreamy romance tale.
Acting is 10/10. I couldn't think of other actors that could express these lines, these emotions and the age gap so perfectly. FL is the mature Song Hye Kyo that have been through a lot. Very calm, mature and elegant. Park Bo Gum (ML) is the eptiome of youth. A good student like personality, the responsible older brother, the nerdy book lover.
This drama OSTs have been on repeat since 2020 for me.
I truly recommend people that love calm mature romance like "One Spring Night" and "Pretty Noona who buys me food" to watch this drama.

Back to korean melo romcom golden days
Love Your Enemy is a delightful melodramatic romcom that whisks viewers back to the golden era of romantic comedies, where love stories were simple yet irresistibly charming. This drama captures the nostalgic essence of old-school romcoms, beginning with the classic tale of two high schoolers who meet, bicker incessantly, and fall in love in the most endearing, childish way. Fast-forward 18 years, and the couple reunites, only to find themselves caught up in the same playful fights and undeniable chemistry. What truly sets Love Your Enemy apart is the unwavering love of the male lead for the female lead. His devotion stands the test of time, echoing the timeless romances of the past, where love was steadfast, pure, and enduring. This consistency in his feelings adds an emotional depth that will tug at your heartstrings.
The drama is a perfect blend of humor, romance, and heartfelt moments. It’s funny, light-hearted, and incredibly romantic, making your heart flutter with its simplicity and sincerity. If you're looking for a show that feels like a warm hug from the past while still delivering all the feels, Love Your Enemy is the one to watch.
