If you paid attention in ep 17, Chi Cheng had said to WSW mother again that it is best to tell WSW but it was the mother that stopped him.
The one who didn't want WSW to know is the mother. I don't agree she should keep this from WSW and for that when she keeps stopping Chi Cheng in revealing this to WSW, this is her responsibility to be the one to tell WSW herself, not Chi Cheng.

In the ep 19 PV really shows that Wu Ma genuine just want his son(WeiWei) to be happy and what she said to Chi Cheng was what I see a good and loving mother would because they changed it in the drama, she knows, yet what she is afraid of is the road ahead of them will be difficult(because same sex is not openly accepted in CN), yet her concern and what she said showed me she love and accepts the relationship between Wei Wei and Chi Cheng. That really touched me. More tears to come next episode 🥺
