Maybe if he told her then she will somehow follow him to fight SY and he can't risk that. Just like when he said he's going to pull his sword that one morning and she said she will go with him and he said she didn't need to but she ended up following him afterwards.
While that being said I agree that the writers can try something new instead of going the misunderstanding route.... But to me I felt like this works out for their character development both individually and them growing as a pair because we will see how much TY will do later to earn back her love and forgiveness.

He told her. She agreed to hand over the heart protection scale. But then what? Do you think YH is someone who will just be sitting idly by and wait for him to come back? I don't think she will because a part of her will be worried for him. This could be one reason why he didn't tell her. It was an emergency as well and SY said it that every 2 hours... She will kill an elve... He didn't want YH to go with him because he can't risk it on his end. When he took the heart protection scale out it was only intended momentarily and he have every plans to return it to her once he's done...
In the end... I don't mind the usual trope IF the writings later gets better development on the character and pairing.

Since all this time we see YH actively pursuing and showing him her love but by going the misunderstanding route it is probably more showing us how much TY will go through to earn back her love and forgiveness.

I want to see TY putting in to show his love for her and him chasing after her to earn back her love and forgiveness.
So part of me don't want YH to make it easy for TY since I want to see TY expressing and chasing after YH(to be the one to pursue the relationship this time), as some form of character growth.
Looking at this emotionally, I understand TY and what he's going through in that moment.

At the beginning, he's a character I was sceptical about liking but I did ended up liking him as a shipper to TY and YH
But now... I am just disappointed with what BXS is showing me in episode 16....
I just hope the writers won't push him down further into the path I don't want to see him become... Give me back the BXS who I came to like.....
But for now I can sleep in peace knowing that misunderstanding will be cleared later although I don't know which episode lol
