This was actually explained by Jing Yuan in ep 38. He said "My physical body was indeed destroyed 60,000 years ago, but the Divine Mantles of the 3 Supreme Dieties never perish. I was so desperate to find Xing Yue that I forcibly tore apart my Divine Mantle. Half of it went to Baize(FY), and the other half stayed in the world continuing to search, until the 15 year old Fan Yue accidentally fell off the cliff, forcing the two halves of my Divine Mantle to reunite."
That's the time when 15 year old FY lost his memories. Those flashbacks of Jing Yuan was all because of the Divine Mantle that belongs to Jing Yuan who once experienced them on his end. They are his past memories.
This is also how BS can see flashbacks of herself in the past because of XY Divine Mantle
But both FY and BS are reincarnation from Jing Yuan and Xing Yue but they are still FY and BS because that is who they are.
About JY and XY (my overall feelings inside spoilers)
For me, I love Jing Yuan and Xing Yue too, and here's how I try to cope with their ending.
Jing Yuan and Xing Yue has a bittersweet ending. Jing Yuan loves Xing Yue and he did said he desperately want to see Xing Yue again.
At first he saw Bai Shuo is Xing Yue because she carried Xing Yue's divine mark, but didn't want to admit that Bai Shuo is not Xing Yue since Xing Yue is dead and its too painful for him to accept this fact.
Bai Shuo is Xing Yue's reincarnation and Bai Shuo is herself. She's not going to be Xing Yue because she's not.
How Jing Yuan was able to awaken after 60,000 years later into FY body was because he used his Divine Power(which can be like a part of his soul) to bind the hidden heart back then so a part of his remnants still exists in this world that was binded to the Hidden Heart. When Bai Shuo used the sword to attack ZY and injured the Hidden Heart this sets Jing Yuan free where he was able to enter into Fan Yue's body and awaken as Jing Yuan.
For me, Jing Yuan and Xing Yue back story is truly tragic. They wouldn't have gotten that tragic ending back then if Heaven Fate didn't forbid Xing Yue from being with Jing Yuan. But honestly, without the tragic backstory, there would not be the Fan Yue and Bai Shuo that we came to love.
I know it hurts Jing Yuan to accept that Bai Shuo is Bai Shuo and she's not Xing Yue anymore. Because that is him acknowledging that Xing Yue is no longer in this world.
Jing Yuan truly loves Xing Yue and just like how Bai Shuo cannot take Jing Yuan the same as Fan Yue(because Bai Shuo only loves Fan Yue), the same is with Jing Yuan because he only loves Xing Yue. He accepted they are two different people.
The moment he accepted that Xing Yue is no longer in this world, my heart 💔 goes out to him, because that's when he decides to join her in the stars. I like to believe that he did find her again and they reunite in the stars. Jing Yuan was selfless when he decide to give the body back to Fan Yue and that did make me love Jing Yuan better too 😭😭
To me, how I took the theme to their backstory and ending is, 60,000 years later in the drama(MM) is Fan Yue and Bai Shuo are reincarnations to both Jing Yuan and Xing Yue, and they lived on as their happy ending. Just like what Jing Yuan said to Fan Yue before he joins Xing Yue in the stars: that perhaps his awakening was to give them(FY and BS) a chance to be together 60,000 years later. He told FY to protect BS well and dont let their(JY and XY) regrets in the past repeat itself 😭😭 so to me, this is how I saw it... yes I was sad for JY and XY but their ending gives a sense of bitter sweet for me, and that their happy ending lives on in their next life. I felt like this was very poetic and sad in a way but it made sense if you look at reincarnation side of things.
Does this make me dislike FY and BS? No. Because FY and BS deserves their happy ending too and considering all their suffering and sacrifices they earned it and I am glad one way or another JY and XY can live on in FY and BS in that sense(in the next life).

For Jing Yuan and Mo Li case is different to Xing Yue.
While all of them died 60,000 ago and their body is no more but unlike Xing Yue, Jing Yuan back then used his Divine Power of the Demon God to bind the Hidden Heart(of Mo Li), that is why even if Fan Yue is "dead", he hasn't awaken as Jing Yuan yet. Because that part of Jing Yuan consciousness is binded to the hidden heart.
If you noticed that when Bai Shuo used the sword to slash at ZY, this injured the Hidden Heart but also sets Jing Yuan free and the purple thingy flew out and flew all the way into Fan Yue's body hence why he was able to awaken as Jing Yuan in Fan Yue's body.
Xing Yue died back then in that battle and her body is no more, but she was reincarnated into Bai Shuo, so this is why I think she cannot awaken as Xing Yue again because Bai Shuo is Bai Shuo whereas for Fan Yue, he "died" and remnants of Jing Yuan Divine power went into Fan Yue and was able to awaken as Jing Yuan.
The Hidden Heart which belongs to Mo Li back then was forced into Chong Zhao hence why Mo Li has control of the body.

That kiss I remember when someone posted that bts scene and they were saying how the kiss in the bts was intimate, and at that time, I actually commented saying "but that part havent aired yet, so have yet to see the full scene", and then when they finally aired that episode, omg that kiss had me blushing 😳 and I even saw comments in here when that episode was out from people apologising about what they said before on the kiss not being as intimate lol 🤣🤣 MM is definitely unique and I am so glad they gave us so many decent kiss and I honestly was not expecting a kiss at the end of episode 40. I thought the best was just a hug so when Fan Yue kissed Bai Shuo to reassured her that he is really back I totally was speechless 😳 and then I fangirl and rewind that scene several time and did you see the symbolic of the moon in the sky like it is binded by something(like tying the knot) omg!!! 😍😍😍
For Jing Yuan and Xing Yue, bittersweet is my feelings as well and I felt sad when Bai Shuo woke up, she called out Fan Yue and Jing Yuan called her Xing Yue (at the same time), that part really hurts 💔💔 but I understand how Bai Shuo is feeling because the one she love all along has always been Fan Yue and I love that it showed me that Fan Yue cannot be replace in her heart.
