Used to mix the ml with Vanness Wu. So when searching for the drama I used his name but then remembered the former ml actor's name was Eddie Peng. I was finally able to find this drama to rewatch. But unfortunately it came out the same year as VW's drama which had a similar name. You can find subs of Autumn Concerto (on Netflix and YT) but not The Concerto. Anyone know where I can find subs?
Just finished watching Shine On Me, then immediately started bingeing Love Between Lines. Now I'm almost done with this too. Already panicking on what to watch next. Any green flag ML dramas to recommend?
If they had adapted it into an animation, it would have been much better...i think..
I agree. Gave the movie a shot but it was meh. I'll just wait for the anime. Heard it's set to be released this year, an Aniplex and Crunchyroll production.
After watching Asian dramas for over a decade and a half, I've noticed that drama writers love using this type…
Paused watching the drama until Viki finished translating the episodes. That way I can binge the rest and hopefully pass through quickly with the noble idiocy breakup episodes. So found the original webnovel and now I'm more upset about it.
There was no noble idiocy plotline in the novel. At. All. Once they got together, Shan Chong knowing her parents might have a problem with him being poor started giving more lessons. His goal was to save over a million, which he almost already had.
And though the parents, more than the mother as the father accepted him quickly, did have a problem with him. Mostly because she didn't know him and practically watched Han Ming grew up. Her concerns was him being handsome wasn't everything if he wasn't a good person. He might drink and be dangerous and cheat. My girl refuted all that and even said it's Han Ming that does two of those things.
Plus the mother backed off when she saw how happy her daughter was with Shan Chong. And compared it to how she acted like a soulless dead fish when next to Han Ming. Though, you can tell she was hoping it was a rebellious phase and was waiting for them to break up on their own and for to choose Han Ming.
And when Shan Chong return to the national team to compete in the Olympics, IMO, was done better in the webnovel. When he went back to the mountain the national team trained on for the first time after his accident. And did his jump, when he landed his knees buckled and he fell forward into the snow. Everyone thought he fell but what really happened was that he was kneeling down. And kissed the snow. Because he was back where he belonged.
That was just so poignant. How it was done in the show was underwhelming. The breakup is unnecessary angst added in. The writers should've kept it like it was in the webnovel. Should've reversed the plot lines. Hype up the jump and return to the team. And have the couple fight together to stay together. Show an united front.
Plus the webnovel in the end shows them taking their daughter skiing for the first time. And she's a genius like her daddy. But she keeps breaking his heart because she wants to learn alpine skiing and carving instead of big air jumps like her daddy.
Then at first she's afraid of Bei Ci but becomes his best friend when they make secret plans for him to teach her all his half-pipe board tricks. Something Wei Zhi specifically told him not to teach her daughter any dangerous tricks. And the little girl promised Bei Ci she knew what not to tell her mother and to have him teach her a 180 spin.
All the while Wei Zhi heard it all and Shan Chong behind her silently praying for his daughter. As she was in trouble now and there's nothing he can do to help.

Ugh, that's the worst. Def agree with you on that. Doing that makes me so mad. Makes me think of how many hours of my life I wasted watching the drama. I prefer to feel the opposite when I'm done watching a drama. TY.
After watching Asian dramas for over a decade and a half, I've noticed that drama writers love using this type…
And if they have to use it, I'd rather prefer if it's done and resolved quickly. Instead of unnecessarily stretching it out over more than two episodes. Or worse, until the second to last episode or very last episode of the show.
Just finished. Over all it's a good drama. As always, Esther is funny and she does "cute" successively although…
After watching Asian dramas for over a decade and a half, I've noticed that drama writers love using this type noble idiocy trope to create tension. IMO, it's unnecessary to the storyline, and feels like a cheap trick to elicit viewer's emotions. Plus, it comes off as cliche due to overuse. Never mind, that such an action is harmful to the characters involved. Would like to see less of this trope and more of characters of staying and fighting together as true partners.
I'm hoping it was not taken down long-term as Thippy is one of the last remaining english subbers for Thai lakorns…
Great news. Started panicking when I went to her site and got the 'Not Found' message. Viki used to have a lot of subbed Thai shows 15 years ago but not anymore. And its people like Thippy that I always go to for my lakorn fix.
You can try reading the original novel the drama's based on. Not that many irritating plotlines. You can find the fans translation version of the novel on a Wordpress site by Lilypad translations: https://lilypadtl.wordpress.com/accompany-you/
Trying not to spoil too much with this question but, which episode is the episode when the ML found the villain's, Hyun Soo, "friends" across from the FL's old apartment?
Recently re-watched GYH and read some of the comments and I stand firm, although I do like the drama, one of my faves. But still say the original webnovel was better. Here's why.:
1) In the C-drama, the Mi Ya scandal overstayed it's welcome. And didn't like how Qui Ying backed off because of Mi Ya's sob story on how much she and Xiang Kong meant to each other. In the webnovel, Xiang Kong nipped that in the bud and introduced Qui Ying to Mi Ya as his girlfriend. Even before officially asking Qui Ying to be his girlfriend. He wasn't wishy washy at all. He wanted QY and only QY and made his intentions known. He was always handsy, kissing her whenever he had the chance and possessive over her, so much so QY called him a pervert.
2) In the C-drama, there was that awful PR guy manipulating things to kick XK out and assaulting QY. In the webnovel he doesn't exist. XK wasn't kicked out for losing the beta bet but because the owner reneged on his promise with Gu Fang about making XK captain. In the webnovel, XK's mental stress from always being belittled by the e-sports industry and keyboard warriors is shown in depth. Pei Xi does replace him as in the C-drama and the reason was the same. But in the webnovel they shared a past. They met and battled before. After Pei Xi lost, it was XK who invited him to play again and PX wanted to keep the promise.
3) In the C-drama, Qua Xin only got a slap on the wrist for all the things she did. Did. Not. Like. That. At. All. In the webnovel, she was truly horrible, dreadful, a true green tea b@#$h. So was very much excited when everything was revealed, and all the people involved in helping her got outed and got their just desserts. She was humiliated and hated.
4) One thing I didn't like in the webnovel was how QY didn't go back to being a commentator after the truth was revealed. In the webnovel, she remained as Phoenix's manager although she did keep up her streaming channel, commentating there.
5) And the reason she got into streaming/commentating was more real in the webnovel than the drama. In the drama, it was because she was being stubborn and angry at her father. In the webnovel it was because her stepdad was a douche who felt and treated her like a beggar. Not wanting to live that way anymore and beg for his money she left to make it on her own. Plus she was in college getting her Broadcasting degree.
And when there's a Thai drama remake, you know it'll eventually happen, I hope they write the script based more on the webnovel. Truly show QX's evilness and her comeuppance. Truly show QY and XK burdens and triumphs and vindication. No breakups and have open communication. Have Mi Ya fade to the background. And truly show how bad the cyberbullying and keyboard warriors gets, like in FIYS.
But who would play XK and QY roles? Dew or Win from F4 Thailand as ml? Or how about Euro from Hak Lai, My Lady? And Baifern from Beauty Newbie or Fah from Nabi, My Stepdarling as fl? Or Prapye from Hak Lai, My Lady?
Just started watching this and omg, the fl's mother. Is she trying to get the fl fired or sent to jail? All for a wedding/marriage where the in-laws have no respect for her? And she's doing all this because she cares and worries about her? Who needs caring like that?
Oh for the love of....WTH is with this noble idiocy going on!? Have a few episodes left but the FL not revealing the truth is making me want to drop this.
Thought I'd give it a try and I just couldn't. Could not see myself watching past episode 1. As a remake I understand how the storyline will be the same but it was a straight copy. At least go to the original webcomic and use some scenes that never made it in the Korean drama version. Like how Ha-Ri was the one who proposed to Tae-Moo.
