Ah yeah! You found a good one here, about the bridge.Writer needed first to force him to a call, so she's alone…
Rewatching is good. I always rewatch kdramas I like, and ones I prefer more than two times. Once you already started to decypher the drama, you come in the rewatching with a lot in your hand, what makes you can more easely spot what you missed. And we probably miss things in this drama. Just see: Until someone speaks about the wallet, I didn't see it! While I watch rather closely with notes.
her life's very messy & frustrating which will make you frustrated as well. dropped it mid way of ep1
I was about to drop it on episode 1. lol!! But I was hooked by what's coming next. Then I rewatched bits of episode 1 because I missed some information in it.
Thinking back now, I think there might be more to why Hyunoh doesn't want to marry Eunho other than the grannies…
I bet on a scene later about that: could be he tries to check if he could say her about grannies, but her answer sounds like she couldn't stand it, so he didn't reveal. After all, she has lost her grandma too and it was very hard for her.
JY did fall for a illusion as Hyeri do not exist but an fragment of EH mind, so clearly he have no change and…
It's that. I bet on healing relationship, BUT... as we are now many episodes later, let's see how he adapts to Hyeri changing, as he should change too. We have a hint that EunHo final personnality could be a developed version of Hyeri one. SO... maybe... if JY too change and stick with her new self... Well... it's a kdrama, anything possible.
I'm just amazed with every small details and analogies in this drama.the broken umbrella, the hanging necklace,…
Ah yeah! You found a good one here, about the bridge. Writer needed first to force him to a call, so she's alone on it. I noticed the strange effect she goes Right to Left. Because the natural move for "going forward" in a picture is rather Left to Right . So it sounds "she need to go back on something". Maybe herself? So he's alone too, further away. Sounds like maybe: They can't be together if she doesn't go back first to heal. We get same dynamic than in the stair: - He's the one who doesn't move.
I didn't notice something like that at all. When was it? I want to see it too.
I found also Wallet next scene, Episode 5. Added to notes:
10:48 - HyeonO +EunHo He says he can't find his wallet. I guess he pretends and it's an excuse to stay with her. Because mainwhile he was moved and want to help her for a while.
Yeah, just after he put wallet in his pocket, he sees her crying during sleep.
OR because there was time between moment he looks at her and she wakes-up: He really lost his wallet, what means... at some point EunHo (or Hyeri?) woke-up at least for a short time and stole the wallet. What could be a move from her because she want he stays by her side.
I didn't notice something like that at all. When was it? I want to see it too.
I found it for first appareance and add to notes.
Episode 5 08:06 - Long insistant close-up shot on HyeonO hand when he quits table. He hold a wallet + another object, hard to know what maybe a lighter?
It can't be by chance because the shot is too long. I'm ok the drama is slow but something like that, hu? So, it's foreshadowing. π
I'd need more info to check the next time this wallet comes in.
βpls get sick from time to timeβ is his way of saying pls give me a chance to take care of you more often…
It's a great line, screenplay wise. Shocking, surprising. Obviously understandable with your explanation. But it makes also a link with him taking care of sick old ladies. Just saying my opinion: it's great writing! π
Flashback. Staircase, day. (The one of the breakup)EunHo+HyeonO have been dating for 3 months.Excellent: when…
The whole thing is thanks to the writer. People often confuse what do writer or director. First it's a screenwriter, not novel one, so most of what we get on screen comes from the writer. Then the director put his talent too.
Here a point, I wonder about how it's in the script: When HyeonO stops in the stair. I wondered if the writer put an intention or not at this point, because it's possible to do it like that: - HyeonO, !!, stops short. She doesn't notice and continues to climb the stairs. But there isn't a close up on his face, so it should rather be: - HyeonO stops. She doesn't notice and continues to climb the stairs. Or course, not exact wording, but something like that. Maybe writer precised more about her state of mind too.
Now what did the director with that, because he has a good understanding of the script (not only this scene, but as a whole): As the writer didn't focused on HyeonO expression as he stops, the director chose to show only his shoes at first, when she continues to climb. He also put HyeonO in a blur. It suggests that now, HyeonO became a blur in her mind. He vanishes as a real man. Becomes a kind of dream she's the only one to have. The effect is strong.
Just to say the writer isn't the only one to manipulate what run above our eyes but under our mind when we watch. But at least I could explain what roles have the two different creators of the show. Writer and director.

Some external items used to reinforce internal of character + useful for TV writing that needs to be visual. My interpretation can be imperfect, but as it's obvious the writer put that on purpose with strong links....
I've even have a theory that some metaphors don't need to be explict, but they run under audience surface mind, giving depth to a story.
Just like the scene in the stairs. She speaks about mariage, and he stops. We can get a surface understanding. Ok, it's normal, he said he doesn't want that, so he doesn't want to hear more about that.
But deeper sens run under that, we maybe don't catch it, but it stays with us. First the stairs, it's like a metaphor of life, climbing toward greater goals, but he won't climb with her. It's like he refuses normal way of life. It plays wrong for him here.
But notice also: she continues to speak, speak, speak, and doesn't even notice he stopped. So she's in a foolish and selfish dream, not taking account of reality and care more about her dream than him. It plays wrong for her here.
Each of those details were skillfully introduced by the writer on purpose. It's why I take notes, because on a normal binge watch, I'd miss that. So be normal audience, without awarness of what run under the surface of my mind and the writer used.

Something like: as he got out the pendant and put it in the car Ep3, probably a way to say he opens the door to her, and ready to do something she wanted but he refused before (put the pendant in the car). Now, she closed the door, and this time of opportunity is gone on his side, like he won't try again to comes to her, so he put away the pendant of the car.
Let's see what comes next.
Then what motivates him to send her to the therapist.
About wallet: makes a light link to notion of identity, as people put their Id card in their wallet.
But I was hooked by what's coming next.

Even hair stretched comment or when I was wrong.
When I've time, will share the file on a googledrive.
