"why can’t lee Gon share why he is able to travel between worlds? What’s so precious about that information when he was able to share more personal and traumatic experiences to ET?"

Maybe because plot imperative. Remember the very first scene of the drama. Tael Eul interrogate evil oncle LL, look like a flashforward. And she don't know what the flute is. It's juste a speculation. As there is no context about this scene, it could also be a flashback from an alternative time loop reality.

Worth watching? I wasn't necessarily blown away by episode 1 but it wasn't bad. Does it improve?
It's worth seeing. I get upset about this drama a lot, but I'm watching it anyway because it also has qualities.

Yes, there are huge flaws in particular areas. Extreme confusion on the side plots, heaps of characters difficult to recognize or memorize, badly distributed isolated scenes without a follow-up storyline, badly managed elipses, bad choice of director/scriptwriters to make it legible. It becomes very painful when such a scene later has an impact on the main plot, and causes misunderstandings.

If you focus on the screenplay frames that have follow-up, it's pretty good. Not really thrilling or addictive, maybe it's a writer's choice. The directing isn't hectic either. There are often good ideas, surprising dialogue, and no inconsistencies. Great logic even on details.

The romance is good but does not please the audience. It's a bit too original because the personality of the characters is different from other dramas. In my personal opinion, sentimental scenes are strong. This screenwriter has always been good at it, at least!

The actors are correct, Lee MinHo equal to himself, rather flat, but good charisma, without overplaying. From time to time, he wakes up and is more expressive. Gentle character, intelligent and sometimes funny. The lead actress is perfect, taking into account that she doesn't have a face as expressive as other actresses like Kim Tae-Hee. Kim Go Eun is more subtle.

"I love you" ???? ????????ma'am hold up what??I'm gonna need you to repeat that for me please lmfaoHonestly?I…
Lots of funny and surprising scenes. I'm not bored with the romance! ^^
Very beautiful piano music too, at the beginning of some romantic scenes.
The first meeting alone is worth its weight in gold:
Grab the girl, and crash hugging her on your shoulder, in slow motion! :-D

Seriously, why are people allowed to write reviews with only 1/2 of the show aired? It's ridiculous. MDL should…
To make it even worse, these people are winning votes ahead of time. Which means their inaccurate reviews are going to go to the top of the list. ><

the show still gets 8.5% ???? this show deserves a 7,5% its so outdated.
Too high ratings are often what makes a disappointing drama even more disappointing. :-D

Just watched 1st episode and the music as well as the rain just made me miss memories of Alhambra :(
I love MotA so much that I prefer not to compare, which I made the mistake of doing at first. It was so much more exciting and more readable, while it was just as complicated, if not more so. Anyway, now I prefer to focus on TKEM for its own qualities, although it is difficult.

Yah! It's nice to meet someone who feels exactly the same way.
I also like the sentimental story in this drama. My problem is that I would also like to enjoy the rest of the story, especially since I usually like this kind of story.
For the moment, and in doubt, I ended up considering that this kind of story was not appropriate for translation and a western audience. You have to pay attention to the details rather than read the subtitles. And recognizing so many Asians and Korean names is not easy.
So I'm going to rewatch the episodes to compensate for this problem. There I might have a clearer vision, or be just as disappointed. I expect to be disappointed, because after Secret Garden and The Heirs, this writer hasn't written anything I liked. But you never know...

Can we just think for a moment how amazing actor Woo Do Hwan is? ♥He plays little clumsy, funny and sweet guy…
Nothing special about this support actor. He does the job, no less, no more.

Exactly! That's why I don't believe in these so called low ratings since the amount of comments, apology letters…
You're a very empathetic person.
I dare, shyly, to ask you if you'd like to go on a date.
We could eat chicken at a fast food restaurant.
Hopefully it's romantic enough.

Ratings match comments.
Ratings match a genius like me.
It's mathematical, like Euler's number, and 0s and 1s.
I know the truth hurts.
Now, I love to hate this drama.
That's why I watch it.
Just like everybody else, or almost!
Please don't spoil what little pleasure I have left.
Consider that the one who suffers the most in this story is me.
Have a little compassion!!
:-D
I'm the King.
So, love me, too.
Because I'm the King. ^^

I'm two episodes in - but I came in with absolutely zero expectations from hearing so much negativity/backlash…
I understand you perfectly well.
Even better, I had negative expectations, I was ready to be disappointed!
And I was pleasantly surprised at first.
And then...
I wasn't disappointed about being disappointed.
About being disappointed, there's no chance of being disappointed. ^^

This was explained in the drama. Maybe luckily, the scene was more legible than usual. That makes me remember…
If the drama was well done, there'd be no need for you to be asked that. Did you see the movie "Inception"? Did you have to go back and think about something? No, everything was crystal clear. And yet it's also a complicated concept. It's only after the end that it's nice to see the movie again, to try to solve some riddles, like the end of the movie. TKEM is a mess that asks the viewer to do what the director and/or the screenwriter has the laziness and/or incompetence to do.

Lemme make a list of them from ep 8 right here:1)Tae Eul's multi-purpose moisturizer 2)Jangmi's Kimchi 3)Prime…
The main actress is very good. I didn't spotted that the scene with the lipstick was a product placement!
All the scenes in the drama were boring at the time. And in this boring scene of hiding in a car, something original happened, which helped me to remember the scene.
But : it was just a commercial !!!
Ok, I'm pathetic..... :-D

LG explains that there was a historical difference several hundred years ago. He also explains that the kingdom's technology is lagging behind that of the republic. That's why some characters have 2G phones in Episode 8, which is a bit like how you spot dooplegangers, when you don't have sophisticated means like a cylon detector, or intruders with twisted little fingers. In Korea, 2G phones are so primitive that they must have already been used during Joseon era by king Sejeong the great himself. :-)

So turns out Sin Jae is from Corea. Ah some people had predicted it. Young pretending to be Eun sob was hilarious.…
It's because Yeong is so faithful and obedient, that very good comedy scenes can appear. In episode 8, he takes the initiative, then he is punished. The king threatens to behead him, then finally, he draws a dot on his cheek. This relationship is hilarious. And it was well restored, unlike the comedy scenes of episode 7, which were just as good concerning the gags, but whose cinematography lacked rhythm.
At this stage of the episode, I finally thought that the drama was going to catch me. The beginning of the episode was perfect, but unfortunately, the sequel was terrible. Why does this drama persist in disappointing me? After giving me false hope?!

So just when the drama the drama picks up (and I start to enjoy it) the ratings go down? I guess it's too late…
I don't think ratings always tell the truth. Sometimes, some dramas are too unknown to have good ratings and yet are excellent. Less famous actors, for example.

But for TKEM, the drama was highly anticipated, the actors and the production team famous. A lot of potential fans. So there, I think the ratings are telling the truth.

What's a bit sad is that despite TKEM's huge flaws, I think that TKEM should have better ratings than Goblin, or rather that Goblin should not have had such ratings. This drama was much more boring. On the other hand, it wasn't awkwardly and/or unnecessarily confusing like TKEM. This aspect perhaps outweighs the general disappointment. Well, personally, it's my main cause of disappointment. Otherwise it's quite the kind of story I might like, and I'm one of the few viewers to be satisfied with romance.

Contrary to internet viewers, a viewer who watches television doesn't have the possibility, the time or the desire to review scenes or episodes, to clarify situations (if it is clarifiable because it's so badly rendered that it's perhaps useless). And it is these viewers who make the ratings! But even as an internet viewer, I don't want to see these scenes again, because they are boring and painful, and I don't like the story enough to be motivated to do that. It is indeed too late, from the first 4 episodes.

So this drama can't be a masterpiece. For that, it requires an effective, addictive, readable and attractive storytelling. A source of motivation that then pushes the audience to go deeper into the subject and review the drama to understand the unsolved mysteries. It doesn't work the other way around.
