I think he is a metaphore of fate. Yoyos thread is red, afterall.
It would have been easier if there had been a warning at the beginning of the drama:
"Before you see this drama, read Alice in Wonderland". ;-)

feel bad for the director who developed the grand vision for the drama but was told to do the editing works instead…
Production companies always try to use consensus formulas for the general public.
In reality, if you say the director is going to do the editing, it's like saying he's fired, and now he's cleaning toilets.

Actors have little impact on the huge mess that is this drama.
They're the last ones to be responsible for this fiasco.
If you played the lead yourself, it wouldn't make much difference. ^^

Rewatch episode 4, it's obvious. Except last good scenes, no one want to see a Tv show so messy.
You ask a lot of questions that I don't have the answers to either!!!
Like you, I'm distraught. There are so many elements in this drama that I should have liked. On some scenes, the KES dialogues are magical.
I'm not done being surprised yet, and for the moment, I anticipate something really bad: the horrible mess of scenes and secondary characters will finally be completely useless. Not only if it had been useful, it would have been bad, but useless, even worse. The Save-Me drama had a similar (albeit much less serious) problem with secondary storylines having no importance to the main plot.

Ah ah ah! Get ready for a big laugh!
Nooo ! I don't work in this, I'm an amateur. Anyone could make this video!
I just have a large library of ambient sounds and sound effects, and then I use video editing software in a basic way.
The only added value is my experience as a spectator/musician/melomane. For example, the series of music/noise on this video, you'll notice that at the end, I chose a descending sound until the music disappears. If you know the cartoon "Akira", there is a music that uses this feeling in a scene: it's like the heart of the scene was a kind of fleeting dream. An event that seems banal and real, but is in fact supernatural. The sound effects reproduce this fleeting impression of how this kind of event is perceived in real life. It's like a daydream, it's so extraordinary.
If an incompetent and inexperienced moron like me manages to do this, I really wonder about the production team, who are supposed to be professionals.

I'm wondering the same thing. The mistakes I see in the drama seem impossible for a writer as experienced as KES. Yet she makes a lot of them, such as the multiplication of isolated situations. As far as readability is concerned, the director must play an important role. Lack of experience as a senior director. The majority of the scenes are flat and empty, they all have the same atmosphere. Little ambient noise, no background music. This does not match the style of the actors or the situations. For some scenes that are terribly bad and useless, I wonder if KES did not entrust the writing to her assistants, and kept only the scenes she wanted to write (the best ones in the drama) for herself. It seems that the work on the structure, the logic of the story and the key scenes has been done, but the rest is a mess. The editing work is minimalist in the drama, as if they didn't have time to do it.
I seem to be speaking harshly, but I took notes on the majority of the scenes with glaring flaws when I revisited the drama. I wrote down how and why it's bad. There is no doubt about it.
I redid the sound editing of an important scene, which goes completely unnoticed in the drama:

This drama is such a mess that in episode 9, after reviewing the episodes twice and reading some analysis on the drama, I still don't know if the bookstore is in the world of QOK, ROK, or both. Even more impossible to know in which world are the characters inside the bookstore.

I've never seen so much incompetence in making the content readable as in this drama. Instead of wondering about the mysteries of the story, we're just trying to read an illegible writing that would have been written by a fly using its droppings.

the product placement in this drama is atrocious like i don't mind when they have brand names shown on screen…
Until now, I was Ok, but Episode 9, it's really abusive. Because the scene and dialogue are not natural to the drama, but are real dialogue of an ADS.

My predictions:
- Tae Eul will get a death fight with Shin-Jae. I have a feeling about that but don't remember the clues.
- Prime Minister Koo want power, hate social classes, don't want political power be limited by monarchy. She will ally with evil oncle. I don't know the issue, but she could be Korean president in Republic world.

"why can’t lee Gon share why he is able to travel between worlds? What’s so precious about that information when he was able to share more personal and traumatic experiences to ET?"

Maybe because plot imperative. Remember the very first scene of the drama. Tael Eul interrogate evil oncle LL, look like a flashforward. And she don't know what the flute is. It's juste a speculation. As there is no context about this scene, it could also be a flashback from an alternative time loop reality.

Worth watching? I wasn't necessarily blown away by episode 1 but it wasn't bad. Does it improve?
It's worth seeing. I get upset about this drama a lot, but I'm watching it anyway because it also has qualities.

Yes, there are huge flaws in particular areas. Extreme confusion on the side plots, heaps of characters difficult to recognize or memorize, badly distributed isolated scenes without a follow-up storyline, badly managed elipses, bad choice of director/scriptwriters to make it legible. It becomes very painful when such a scene later has an impact on the main plot, and causes misunderstandings.

If you focus on the screenplay frames that have follow-up, it's pretty good. Not really thrilling or addictive, maybe it's a writer's choice. The directing isn't hectic either. There are often good ideas, surprising dialogue, and no inconsistencies. Great logic even on details.

The romance is good but does not please the audience. It's a bit too original because the personality of the characters is different from other dramas. In my personal opinion, sentimental scenes are strong. This screenwriter has always been good at it, at least!

The actors are correct, Lee MinHo equal to himself, rather flat, but good charisma, without overplaying. From time to time, he wakes up and is more expressive. Gentle character, intelligent and sometimes funny. The lead actress is perfect, taking into account that she doesn't have a face as expressive as other actresses like Kim Tae-Hee. Kim Go Eun is more subtle.

Lots of funny and surprising scenes. I'm not bored with the romance! ^^
Very beautiful piano music too, at the beginning of some romantic scenes.

Seriously, why are people allowed to write reviews with only 1/2 of the show aired? It's ridiculous. MDL should…
To make it even worse, these people are winning votes ahead of time. Which means their inaccurate reviews are going to go to the top of the list. ><
