They can breathe even if it's mysterious. The hero evokes the subject and thinks that the area of limbo has different physical laws. That's not put under the rug. There are relatively few logical errors in this drama. Even the fact that the heroine had little money. I was mistaken, it was actually intended. I was more blamed for the confusion generated by a poor presentation of information and a pace that was too slow, or without a clear plot.
OST songs are so bad. No originality. Soup that's already heard, ultra mainstream. The chord lines are cut and pasted from other songs from other dramas. I hope that new songs will appear and that there will be at least one good one in all of this.

Same. It's bad, but there is enough good points to keep me watching. I'm curious to see if the writer do some good plot with all stuff of exposition, or if it will be just lame in the end. I bet on the last, so I prefer and won't be disapointed.

You got it all wrong! This writer's previous dramas were very bad, and yet they were very well ranked. I was very surprised that this was not the case for this drama. I observed that the drama was slightly better than her previous ones. Maybe that was why the ratings were not as good. A real blockbuster drama in bad taste has theoretically good ratings. It's supposed to be of a coarse quality designed to appeal to the masses. The lowest common denominator.
Also: she is a cop, surrounded by armed guards, and the first idea is to aim a gun at the King?:-D
It is not a problem with the explanation, it is obvious and it is said. But the method she uses makes no sense. What cop in the world would do something so stupid and dangerous? That's more than enough reason to get shot without warning...

The only rational explanation: because otherwise he couldn't come to her rescue unannounced by helicopter. :-D To add other elements to the complete lack of logic of this situation: the King's bodyguard stalks the heroin everywhere. So he can see that she is in trouble, and could have sounded the alarm. But............No. T T
Any historical kdrama fan know than the best character ever is Lady Mishil, portrayed by actress Go Hyung Jung !!!!! No character in your list is memorable... there is so many better one.
Man to man wasn't good drama. As for Goblin, the only person I could advise on this is my worst enemy. The most boring drama imaginable, devoid of any plot. Childish characters, no humor. I don't call the forced, childish agitation of the characters "humour". Totally artificial, consisting essentially of filler from episode 2 to episode 13. Even if the drama was summed up in a 2-hour film, it would still be boring. I rather advise people to watch Empress Ki since they have time to deal with 51 episodes.

The main thing that could be fun was a gifted actor, able to have cat-like attitudes. Not taking a fantasy situation seriously and logically is the worst thing. A lot of comedy scenes could have taken place if the cat had difficulty getting used to his life as a man. Just like the mermaid character in "Legend of the blue sea". If you saw the drama "Master Sun", there is a comedy scene in the last episode, where the female lead is possessed by a cat. I'm sure she's much more talented. The scene is only 5 minutes long, and it was very good.

Both dramas have similarities in the way it's told, the style. Again the opening scene is a flashforward, and again the last scene is a very moving flashback. They are both gigantic frescos. In "Giant" we feel the same thrill and the same epic emotion. The same strength in emotions in general.
"Giant" is slightly less accomplished. You can feel it when you look at "Empress Ki" which erases the flaws of "Giant". But the context is more serious to compensate. So someone might also tell you that he slightly prefers "Giant", but one thing is certain: if you like one of the two dramas, you like the other one! Personally, I saw "Giant" after "Empress Ki" because of the writers, and because I wanted to relive something so strong. I wasn't disappointed.
If you like cinema, you may have seen Sergio Leone's great films, "Once upon a time in the West", "Once upon a time in America". The feeling you get in "Giant", it's like "Once upon a time in Korea". There, the viewer's involvement in the story is deep. It's really the kind of work that has nothing to do with romcom and everything that's coming out today. The story stretches over 30 years, and this is the only drama I know of with "Sandglass", which is set in a background of years of dictatorship, political changes, until the arrival of the democratic republic.
Look at the casting on the drama sheet, you'll fall off your chair !!!
There's this fabulous supporting actor, Kim Jung Hyun. He can be seen in Sandglass, Empress Ki, Queen Seon Duk. In "Giant", it's also his best acting performance. A role radically different from the others. Bonus: Nam Ji Hyun, Queen Seon Duk's child actress, about the same age.

"Giant" was written by the same writers as "Empress Ki", it's almost as good. Lee Moon Shik often plays characters that are a bit comical, and this is more dramatic. I had no idea how talented this actor could be when I've seen him in so many other dramas.
Very good article, but it's a shame there are so many actors missing. How can we not include Jeon Gook Hwan, Kim Hae Sook and many others? If you like LEE MOON SHIK, I recommend the drama "Giant", his acting performance is sensational!
