W two worlds Season 2 sc

Season 2 had good moments but alas, also draggy ones if I compare to season 1.
Now I watched many dramas of Hong sisters, they often write amazing parts of a story, but in some dramas get lost in late part. Not that what they do then has no meaning, but it's boring.
Big plus for me was Go Youn Jung, who was the original Naksu in first episode of season 1.
She has this feminine charm that makes me believe a romance.

Ep12 starts with a bang!
Now the king confuses him with his son, scary.
Woo, the scene is good and even Prince acting too now.
Sadly, the music is again out of topic.

"the document of truth is..." TWIST... Lady Jo enters, and breaks my nerves.

Wait, she makes a false accusation, but takes opportunity the king is busy to discretly leave the throne room now. Ah!
As a revenge for us about bad actions of Princess Whawa, she must do what she fears and hate the most: gives the royal seal to the new king. hehehehe.

Lady Jo is under arrest, as a result of the king investigation.
Scene of her death is nice, but I'm not a lot moved.
Bad choice of music again. I'll stop to say that, it's a general problem of the drama.

Scene with King and grand-son. A strong one.
He says he won't forgive grandfather, and also he fears everything.
Yet, he's not a coward, but it's true we feel fear or hesitation in him since a long time.

Ep13. After two slow and sleepy episodes, the drama comes back to life.
Good comedy scene with King and Bodyguard sure to be expert about seduction.
Then I missed a step because I don't know how the guard guess the court lady is a killer.

Hong meets his parent. The dialog looks like he's just in exil, but surprising:
At the end, guards come with a bowl. I guess a bowl of poison, for a honorable death.
Next, Princess Whamwa son is dead in exil. Mmh, sounds like the King ordered his death.
Transition between the two scenes is a bit confusing, giving sens Hong Parent is the son.
From now on, ML is more and more sinister, and FL can't really stand that.

Then, ML is drunk. It's the idea I had since the start:
Due to difficult past and education, he's not as strong as many kings we see in historicals.
Killing is an inner conflict difficult to accept.

King almost force a kiss with Duk Im, once drunk.
We saw in a previous scene he was threatening her (many episodes ago).
Something dark and twisted in this, making I enjoy the dramatic.
However, he falls asleep dead drunk, and the scene didn't push to make him doing something bad. At this point I was ready for anything, as it could turn into tragedy.
And excellent parallelism to underline here:
In the comedy scene with bodyguard, bodyguard advice to look weak and pityfull to make a woman have interest in you. And as irony, it's exactly what happens now.

Ouch. The dowager queen (so pretty she should be the FL, lol) killed morally the king:
In resume: "you killed many people to survive, but you didn't achieved anything".

It was fast and put into ellipsis: we have a young queen now.
This girl was shown before with Duk Im but I forgot the scene.
Now Duk Im wait for the king all night, while he's at the queen bedroom.
Tssaahhhhhhh!!! But she could get him if she wanted.
So, what to say? She suffers, and her decision leads her to that.
I'm asking myself if she really love the king, and I don't think now.
Maybe she loved it once, in the past but not enough.
Now I just keep watching to see that more clearly.

Ep10.
There was tension when they visit the secret lair. There is no one in this place, it's strange. I have no idea how they run away from this. They need to use another exit than the way they enter in. I was expecting it would be difficult, but it just cuts when Lady Jo finds the empty cell. We don't know if they could get the list of names. There were high-chance they could be catch, but they would end their days in a cell, like Lady Park. So, end of the drama!
Also, Lady Jo asked to look for Duk Im, but this point is like forgotten.

Ep11.
3th degree burn, but the Prince takes it easy.
Later, what I was waiting: Lady Jo meets Duk Im.
At this point, Lady Jo should be 100% sure Duk Im liberated Lady Park.
By the way, last night, she asked for Duk Im, but she couldn't be find.
We didn't see it but it's logic.

With such a lunatic king, drama is always next door. ^^

Now a scene with Duk Im and court lady Seo. She says she could love the Prince without needing to be royal consort (concubine). While she's already in big trouble because of Lady Jo. I find Duk Im deluding herself. Her only way to live this love now is to get enough power to stay in the palace. I'm curious to know where it leads, but I find it strange.

Ouch... many sleepy scenes one after the other in this episode.
The sleepy feeling is strong, with the soft music, and every people on the set seems tired.
Plus, it's at night. It's great luck I watch that at morning.
The guy delivering the most energy is the 83 years old king in a flashback. 😄

Something bother me: what are the consequences of the attack on the prince?
I remember Lady Jo wanted to win time, if the King requires an investigation.
But all of that seems gone in the wind now.
Another point under the carpet: The prince is supposed to be regent?
I don't remember one scene where he rules the kingdom.
At least an intendant giving him a paper and PAF, he stamps it.

Oh, here I find back the writer.
Duk Im solve the puzzle, but when she meets the Prince at the entrance, no time to explain.
Kind of twist breaking audience nerves. So, it's nice.

Pleading in the throne room. Yep, I didn't mention before but now for sure:
Main actor is too light. Not really a bad actor, but he doesn't stand enough.
I have this problem with many young actors in recent dramas.
Cute boys but they don't have a face, enough charisma and energy.
I prefer main actress about acting, or some other characters.

Next Duk Im goes to see the queen, because we need to solve the previous twist now.

See here the problem about directing/editing:
- When the King throws the list of traitors and Prince reads it. (it's his secret organisation)
It should be a hard impact! First the sound, we should get a big freezing effect or a bang, then something sinister and powerful, anything but not this sleepy music.
- About acting, sure the actor maybe in cause, but also the director who's in charge to lead actors. So everything is well made from a esthetic point of view but often it lacks dramatism.
- We see in this scene it's not a writing problem, dialog and situation is good, and the King delivers lines with his point of view, different from the Prince. The King actor is very experimented, then he doesn't need a lot of lead.

Scene with Duk Im and the Queen is interesting. She choose a risky strategy by almost saying what the Queen should do. And only when she convices her, she talk about the "document of thruth".

Last instants for the cliffhanger were well made. Let's continue with Ep12...

Clearly no, and even not at all. But most of people here will say yes.

I like occasionnaly romcoms, but disappointed by recent ones. As there are many older romcoms I didn't watch, I have a long list for the day I'd like to see that. Since I've drop NGNL, I do a cure of Sageuk. 😄

I told it in my review, but people don't want to believe it.

You don't take any risk. There is no plot.

Once the overhype is over, the truth is more and more obvious about this boring drama.

Ep6. Some light comedy scene with court ladies. I appreciate because it feels natural.
I like the drama show us real life of this time, like the silkworms building.

It's however a quite slow pace now. Not high on dramatics.

Woo! Now the FL has the light-green outfit! Feels like a promotion.

Next, Duk Im meets the queen. And she can be helpful for the prince. It's not the first time something like that happens and of course, the script create many situations to show how she help him.

Ep8: I like when an element set up in episode 1 comes to bite in episode 8.
The book!
26:00 - It's not supposed to be comedy, but the meeting with the king turns in a funny way, when out of patience and without really caring about that, he makes FL situation worst.

Next the scene is well made and of quality I could expect: When Duk Im tells the story of her visit to the funeral, and it mixes her speaking and the king with flashbacks in that place. It also gives us the feeling the king remembers, but there is also an awesome line which was hidden in this scene of episode 1 when the king says "I will never come back here"... and... in a way he comes back here now, as Duk Im makes him remember. Brillant! Emotional peak when the King cries, then a small twist (just few seconds) when he pretends to not remember. Then, more: while the king is supposed to be the one who forgot, it follows with Duk Im who forgot why he gave her the book, and the King tells her. Irony. Damn good scene.

Princess Hwa Wan is spectacular, it's as if she had hate instead of blood in her body.

Ep9, 22:00 to 27:30 - Slow scene, explaining why I prefer older historicals. There are more reasons, but this example is significative. I noticed scenes like that in many recent historical dramas. Long discussion about plot. No tension, people speaking in low voice, and music is soft and sleepy. It's not writer fault only, but also directing and editing, using too much time on that. When a drama accumulate too much scenes like that, it's over. To compare to the classic narrative of historicals, using often short scenes about plots, many cuts for suspens or different people perspective, a bit like a comic book, with punchy or dramatic accents in music.
Else, there is also the difference about directing, dramatism, acting and theatral feeling, but I won't speak about that now. Just using older camera and less budget didn't make the directing less good.

Next: first time I find main actress cute. She's asleep, eyes closed. On the couch her face is more round and we don't see her jaw. I've probably a problem with her eyes and jaw.

A king has zero chance to survive in a palace where court ladies are a secret organisation wanting him dead. They could poison his food anytime?

Always nice to get: a previous scene about kite was used as set-up for this moment when they are on the beach and unable to alert the palace. For sure, kites would be used. It comes sooner than expected, and so doesn't need a flashback of the setup scene.
2nd setup: The piece of wood given by the King is also used in the situation, to command army.

Nevertheless, for suspens, it lacks tensions.
As a step adding some energy: the fight of the bodyguard vs court lady assassin.
Next a battle: The Prince is almost Arrow!
It's something we could see before: he's very strong with a bow.
Lot of action now, it's first time in the drama, and enjoyable.

NOTE: it's a bit messy to put my impressions in the comment section, so I'll maybe cut-paste that elsewhere, doing a forum thread, or use a review thread, I don't know yet what's better.

Maybe ask a MDL editor?

It's not wasted time, it's a selfless attitude. MDL is a kind place where altruist people help each other to avoid bad dramas. It's very healthy.

It needs to add "weak female lead" to the tags. Or at least "immature female lead".
