it's really meh I want to like it more but too many Ahole characters. Too much infidelity being glossed over stupid…
Hi Rahul and Kbeauty, I love your rage-wording! It's refreshing and a pleasure to read you. I'm more tolerant about annoying characters, as they make drama and problems. So about the script, I find that nice. I agree with both of you, the writer wanted to be uselessly edgy (western like) with the FL. And to boot, used even the sister to trash that more. Nope, I don't subscribe to this kind of easyness in storytelling!
Yup it gets better but it definitely depends on the person watching it too. The person before me said that they…
Hello. I can't remember when, but at one point, kdrama romcom started to use the same sound effects there are in TV shows. You know "wiip, zoop, flop" on every eye blink, head rotation and so on. Just the first time I saw that, it pissed me off. And with horror, I saw more and more kdramas using that... until this one, which is a guiness record about that. So it's quite obvious I'm infuriated. Sad thing is it comes from the editor, not the writer. And about writer I could find some nice scenes along the way. Just on the whole, I can't endure that more.
Now, it's a bit off topic, but I would be curious to know the cringey famous kdramas you are talking about. There is high chance I find them even more terrible! 😉
I feel like i’m watching a different drama than everybody else? Does it get better after ep 2? Because it’s…
Yep, it's meh. I think Ep 1 and 2 are average, so it's not better after. Ep 4 is the more boring one. I could focus during first two episodes on good lines. But overtime, it's difficult because as you can see, it's drowned by painful OTT comedy, with annoying sound-effects. To divert attention from main story and win time, there is a lot of secondary characters. I've drop the drama after ep 6.
Sure, I can't break my TV when I've falling asleep before it.
At least one more, and not just re-using the concept with a new manhwa but expands it with new mysteries and phenomena, like did the original writer. People who watched the drama know the logic of this concept but what if it goes wrong, and new and unexpected logic jumps in? I liked how the heros of the drama were often puzzled, not understanding new events, even during last part. Now they are experimented with that, so I wanted to create new challenges and make their life going in the unknow again. This is this mind-blowing feeling we get while watching the drama, when something crazy happens during a cliffhanger. Our jaw drops with a goosebump, and we try to understand, along with the characters.
Take that as you want, but FL is also toxic. But ok, it's a kdrama, so it needs some toxic characters to create drama. Just, FL is too unlikeable here and I have big trouble to stick to any romance, on top of comedy scenes often cringe, slapstick or parasited by silly sound effects. Anyway, I've drop the drama.
Kdrama needs annoying people to create spicy situations. So, it's an Ok character. I can't understand his motivation because from my point of view, his wife is better in everything when I compare her to the FL of the drama.
Guys, I saw people complaining about the age gap between leads. I know they are around 12years apart in real life…
The gray man told he is 40 and he was 13 when ML is born. So ML should be 27 years old. I don't know the age of the FL, if it's said in the drama, I missed that. She looks older, in her 30s.
Yep, sexy jokes doesn't work half of the time, because it's cheap, vulgar and common. But what I find the most…
Yeah, I remember this scene. She acts like "she has more experience" or something like that. I found that cringe too, and it wasn't even a comedy scene. I don't know if the writer takes this situation seriously, because FL life is a failure, and there is nothing to rant about when she scared any man she have meet until now. Her supposed sexual skills were of no-use for finding love and happiness, and I even doubt she's that interesting in a bed.
Anyway, good sexy jokes are difficult to make, and choosing the cheap way doesn't work. It looks more like the writer is a bit obsessed with that, and as you say, hope that being edgy would be enough to make laugh. But it turns out it's just vulgar, with the meaning of "being common". Like you are with someone dumb and drunk, and this person yells a bad sexy joke, and every people in the train station hear that.
I think there were some good lines or situations in the drama, but as time passed, I started to miss some of them because it was drowned into other bad comedy. With lack of attention, I couldn't catch them anymore. It doesn't need to overdo it to be funny. Slapstick doesn't work on me, and I can like some burlesque comedy like "The Pink Panther", but not something that rely on silly sound effects.
I remember an interview of a screenwriter I like, when she was hired for writing comedy in a sitcom team. She said "but I'm not a funny person?", and the producer told her: "I want you because you are good at creating situations". Good comedy comes from well written characters and situations, not with artificial stuff. And often, the comedy needs also a dramatic situation you can take seriously.
I wasn't expecting a lot, but still disappointed. I find that boring too, not only because of slow scenes and fillers, but when the comedy isn't funny, it turns into boredom.
This is not bad I could watch Shin Min ah folding laundry she is one of these people you look at and say wow how…
Yep, sexy jokes doesn't work half of the time, because it's cheap, vulgar and common. But what I find the most terrible are the sound effects on every gesture of the characters.
This genre is" screwball comedy" ( started in Hollywood in 1930s) it's a legit genre of its own, only ignorant…
I watched some but hardly find similitude with this drama. Or maybe it's the drama is drowned with cheap comedy. Sound effects are unbearable and put on every gesture characters do, as if it could turn into comedy something not funny. I'm not totally negative about the drama, but it's difficult to find good comedy or good lines, and I could easely miss them, because of the general pollution from not-funny slapstick stuff.

Anyway, this drama isn't for me, I just drop.
But what I find the most terrible are the sound effects on every gesture of the characters.
As it's a 12 episodes romcom, there isn't much room for a breakup.
