Thank you Wen :)I haven't watched Bali myself, but it seems really interesting. As for their older works, they…
The two writers of Fashion King were partners for more dramas.
Here I could find this one that I find intriging:
Love of Thousands Years (2003), I've found it on AviZ.

Fashion King remains my fav drama of my last run, when I watched a dozen, with some other good ones. And it was so cool to comment it live with screenshots when Loke started watching.

Hi. Your review is well written. When I'll have time, after finishing my rewriting, I'll take a look at "Something happened in Bali" or any other drama from Fashing King writer.

Title W Spoiler
I really like this series, but there are many things that are unclear. For example, why was the girl constantly…
All the answers are in the drama, in various scenes or dialogs, but as it's fast paced, it's easy to miss them. Here I answer:

"why was the girl constantly pulled into the webtoon world? Was there any particular reason for it, or not? "
First time, she's grabbed by Kang Chul via a small portal linked to the tablet.
Next, she goes back in W world because of Kang Chul thinks about her. However, it's a bit random, because he doesn't control that. Ep7, she come back soon in the police station, but Ep8, he spend lot of time waiting while thinking in the kitchen. Ep13, Kang Chul learns to summons. So he can summon anyone after this point.
In Ep9, Yeon-Joo goes into W, but it's not because of Kang Chul, it's because of the Vilain. As the vilains becomes self-aware, the are able to attract her in W world. The presecutor does it (not volontary) when he's thinking about who she can be.

"Also, it seemed like the boy fell in love with her out of obligation and didn’t actually have any real feelings for her, or at least he didn’t express them."
As it's my fav drama, I admit the romance isn't the best I saw. The hero is the mind/calculating personnality, so he's often a bit harsh. In episode 1 to 8, the romance is quite ok, or "classic". But when he's reset, it's more difficult to trust the romance. He makes a calculation because he has read the manhwa. "if my previous self was in love with her, I should be logicaly be in love too", it's not said, but it's what we guess.

"And why did the girl’s father give his appearance to the killer? I really can’t find any logical explanation for that"
He has no other option. It's said in the drama: Kang Chul saw the face of the final man who stabbed him after the faceless killer, and it was Sung-Moo. Because Kang Chul made 10 years of investigation, it's almost impossible to give him a new track without a plot-hole, so he has to see a face he can trust. In the scene in the station, he even ask "why this man isn't on other cameras ?". He found a plot-hole in the script of Sung-Moo. But Do-Yoon convince him quickly, because they now have the killer with a face he knows.

Yes, she initially thought of him/drew him, but she's not the author of the webnovel so there's not much of an…
Currently, I'm rewriting last episodes. I want to get a full version asap. Then I'll add pictures. If you are interested and fan of W, I'll contact you, in case you want to read the drama. I could even say "Watch", because the format is a visual-screenplay, with many pictures, I mean it's not painful like a fan-fiction, everything's done so it's pleasant to read. If you have doubts about that, just read first scenes of episode 1. You'll see by yourself.

I watch it after an intense melo, and it's probably not the right time.
Then I find it just watchable, no more.

Review Fashion King Spoiler
Unlike what many people think, the ending makes sens and is brillant. It's brillant because it's sudden and unexpected, but however we understand it in a flash, because it was well setup when JH father tells the tale of king David killing the husband of the woman he wants.

Many scenes, if we are receptive to detail allow us to understand better this dark tale:
- scene Ga Youn + JH in the kitchen, when she's receptive to his way to be, quite kind but most of all able to say to her his feeling.
- scene when JH is drunk and come in the party just to say he loves her, and he doesn't care if it's a shame to do that.
- Mainwhile, we have also scenes with YG harsh with her (first scene of ep18 shocked me so it's realistic).
- He's never able to say her his feeling, and it's a main point in this story, and it's the error making finally he looses her. She was waiting for him, dying from hunger and sadness and he never called her.
- As irony, the only moment when he confess is his letter (stolen by JH), but it's far too late.

Then the ending is terrible and is a punishment for who can't say "I love you".
I have an intuition Ga Youn knew he would be killed, and she called him as a farewell. She hears the gunshot, then say her last line. As she told to JH in a scene "you just have to forget me", it's her mindset. So at this point, she forgot YG, he could be dead, it's the same. But nothing sure about that, it's a bit open to interpretation.

Review Fashion King
I'm happy with your review and find nice some people today still like those older dramas, more harsh than today ones, with maybe tragedy, characters making mistakes, no clear couple easy to guess. I'll post in spoiler what I think about more detail, but as I speak about the ending, I've to put it into spoiler.

Person Kang Ji Hwan Spoiler
I loved his acting in Lie to me kdrama and came here for find more of his dramas but what have I found out about…
Sadly, his support team made the wrong move at the beggining of the case. Made excuse no matter what, because it's the usual thing in Korea. But the case made no sens, and while the motivations aren't known yet, it's quite clear he was trapped.
Last time I've heard about the case, his attorney was about to counter-attack, because all evidence pointed he couldn't be guilty. DNA tests, testimony, messages on women smartphone, even CCTV at this home. But I don't know the actual follow-up of this. Alas, his carrer is destroyed now. But we can still enjoy his older dramas. Amazing actor.

I find weird that a level 5 culture official servant doesn't know to speak chinese, and only english.
It's basically her job to be involved in tourism and welcome people from all around the world.
So, english and chinese as main language. China is so big and close to South Korea.

After 3 episodes, the fake relationship hasn't even started yet. It shouldn't take this long for dramas to begin…
It's what I like about many dramas. It's same for Secret Garden or My Girl. There is the main inciting incident (what you call "real plot"), but before, a setup and a first minor inciting incident.

Park Hye Ruyn, most of time, write amazing first episode.
And Really!! The best first episodes you can find in dramaland.
As a starting solo drama writer, how she did the first episode of that drama?
Really good. I could say any other writer had done it until the half and say it's the first episode.
But it's very dense, so first half is like a full ONE first episode.
And second half pushes the story forward, until the main dramatic question:
Is the girl can seduce again the man she betrayed??

About flaws, hard to say it's the writing or the direction, there are cheap effect.
I think it comes from the writing. For example, the scene in the elevator, when heroine strike a guy with her umbrella. The situation is really cheap. However, the writing use a "cartoon effect", and when she leaves the elevator (and her boyfriend into trouble), it says a lot about her personnality.
As a coherent detail, we understand later that the "umbrella strike" was really powerfull, because this girl is a master of Kendo. She has even a better grade than her father, a kendo professor.
For a fun clip about kendo, here one of my favorite song, with a drama-like clip (but not a drama):

And for this version of the song even more amazing (but without the story clip):
