Been a long while since I last watch a TVB drama, there were some action scenes that was a little more dramatic than I'd like but the essence of what make TVB drama so great and compelling to watch like in older HK dramas were all there. I'm up to episode 10 atm and the relationships between the couples, colleagues, friends and family were all fun to watch. Each cases has been very interesting and touching along with the mysteries behind Julie which kept me even more invested. Nicely done.
I have heard that this is a toxic love story .... Is it?
lol if by toxic mean he killed FL a couple of times...but to be fair, he accidently killed her once thinking she should already be dead and then he thought she was some sort of spy from demon clan out to harm him so he keeps running away from her. Sure remind me of Love in Eastern Fantasy, her deaths in the beginning serve more as comical relief. After all her sacrifices to save him though, he became gentler and more protective of her welling being. There are also many deep conversations between the two that brought them closer to understanding each other inner nature that can be quite mature and philosophical.
Theres no love triangles or annoying SFL/SML (well beside the villains who just want power and to destroy the world) so love story is barely toxic.

well, during the opening theme song, I saw scenes of ML happily shooting arrows and under an umbrella with another girl that is not the FL... thus I asked the question
Am I the only one that think costumes here is pretty and at least on par with the costumes in Love of a Thousand Years? They're both from the same universe after all so it wouldn't make sense if one drama have fancier costumes and hairstyles than the other.

I feel bad for Mei Shan Jun, hes right when he said Hannu really don't deserve to be a divine goddess, one setback is enough for her to want to destroy the world. I still don't understand how she became goddess in the first place, did she invent the sewing methods or something? Was her merit that great? Hm i didnt say WJY needs to show big emotional feelings in return. Ofc I do know that her role there is an assassin. Its the eyes and facial expressions thats needed to be portray in the right moment that I thought was off like she couldnt completely grasp her character. I think AvenueX did a better job explaining this, I don't always share the same opinion as her regarding dramas but for KMLM, I agreed with her points.
Just came from A Moment but Forever and I'm also glad theres a new Xianxia drama to dive into to break the sadness/boredom but lol why does the trailer seem like this will be such an emotional draining drama to watch? Seem like too much hatred and misunderstanding going around here. I may have to put it off till more episodes come in

In any case, LXY and Tiffany did such a wonderful job and match each other so well. I think this is the most chemistry LXY had with a female lead so far. Perfect example of expressiveness that's on par with each other; you can totally feel the love in both their gazes and gestures.
In previous dramas, it seems like LXY was carrying the FLs instead, like with Kill Me Love Me, god when responding to LXY's burst of emotional expressions, Wu Jin Yan little to dead expressions was so unbalanced, it keeps breaking me away from their love story. (Ofc I'm not trying to say WJY is a bad actress, I love her in The Double and Story of Yanxi Palace. Just don't know why just KMLM was so weird)
