okay but what kind of incest kink does the writer have? cuz it's gonna be so weird when leads becomes a couple…
Thats what I've been thinking the whole time as well. Thats why I don't ship ML and FL at all.
If only Qing Zhao were the ML and Lu Chang were the SML who could treat Ming Shu like his real sister, then this drama would be perfect. Qing Zhao's mother already likes Ming Shu so much now. In any other drama, they would be a true couple if not for the impending Lu Chang lurking behind.
He doesn’t put me off because he’s got a lot of things going on especially if you remember going back to episode…
Completely agreed. You worded it better than I did. I think FL deserve better and SML genuinely seem like the better choice. Most of all, I don't want her to get hurt but by how the ML handle things and confuses her, I can already see how much pain she will be in once she remembers everything. Can't wait to see her reject him and giving him the cold shoulder though. He reaps what he sows.

Clearing his teacher's name and helping FL are good deeds, I won't deny hes a good person. Relationship-wise, I think hes selfish and a jerk. They knew each other ever since they were young, yet he never truly tried to understand her as a person or learn how kind and dedicated she is. The way I see it, the reason he disregards her before was because of his male ego. She was from a rich family, so he did not want others to think he want to marry up from his station. He was arrogant, self-righteous, taking her feelings for granted and was bias against her due to her background. Yes, I also agreed like you said he had tunnel vision in regard to his teacher's matter but now suddenly thats not his main concern anymore? Now she lost all her family, assets and have amnesia, so he pities her and suddenly learns shes a great woman, its okay for him to change his mind after hurting her so adamantly? Lol so he said he made her his sister in order to protect her for the rest of her life, it would be better if she doesn't remember her dead family and live happily. Now that he falls for her, he hopes she can get back her memory so he can marry her and not hide his feelings... What about her and her feelings? He one-sidedly rejected her, lied to her, fall for her, get jealous and then wants to marry her again, all on his terms whenever he wants. He must think it would be easy since she was so obsessed with him before. God talk about selfish and self-centered. Regardless of how he redeem himself later, I just can't be on his side shipping him with FL. The way they write his chara is so annoying.
You know, I can't shake the feeling that if they had gotten marry in the beginning, her family maybe could've avoid being killed, maybe. Obviously, one reason her dad was so insistent about their marriage, was because he had important evidence to help vindicate his teacher, but he was too stubborn and judgmental to get the hint.
Srsly, ML has no rights to be jealous and getting all possessive. Guess he never told his bestie either (the constable) that he had rejected FL pretty harshly and wanted nothing to do with her before she got amnesia. I'm annoyed he kept trying to ship them together knowing full well FL believe ML is her brother. What kind of feelings are they trying to get out of her? Incestuous love? 🙄
I enjoy everything else about the drama but ML really put me off.
It's not AI, it's reshoot, she have work hard! other cast who have same scene with her also reshoot such as ML,…
Thanks for confirming. I knew they reshoot the scenes with HYX but wasn't sure if EVERY single scenes with FL was reshot as well. Like I was thinking, to save budget they could've replace some side face shots with AI or something, I've seen plenty of those on bilibili. Glad to know they did not cut any corners though. The cast and crew really put in double the efforts and now I look forward to it even more.
YBY got famous because of LAR but I was not able to tolerate her supposingly cute (but dumb) personality, it irks…
I didn't think YBY was particularly outstanding in L&R, on the other hand Cheng Yi really shine (his angsty tears tugs at my heartstring) and he took off from there. I love her chemistry with ZYC more in My Sassy Princess where her character was more mature and a little mean/naughty. I agreed with you that she can't play cute personality very well without seeming awkward or faked.
I know HYX from a few of her previous work, but most notable ones for me are The Sleepless Princess and The Blue Whisper. I think she can also do crying and serious scenes pretty well naturally despite her baby face and still seem very kindhearted and innocent.
I saw the new trailer with Hu Yi Xuan, looks genuinely good. I'm glad there weren't scenes that look like they replace the FL face with AI. I haven't gotten over Liu Xue Yi and Tiffany in AMbF but my heart really wants to watch this drama too. 😖 Maybe its just me but I actually prefer HYX over Yuan Bing Yan, she has a cuter and softer face that fit her innocent character.
Well I'll do my best to hold off until at least half the episodes are out before I start because seeing those 1 episode a day in the schedules is a pain.
Does anyone know, do I have to watch red moon pact before watching this one?
I finished Red Moon Pact a few days ago and there were some mentions related to how the story of Love in Pavillion will end and a scene of Dongfang Huai Zhu (with Liu Shi Shi in flashbacks) as well as more mentions of her son, Wangquan Fu Gui (which will be in Sword and Beloved, but Cheng Yi was not shown). An older actor played as Wangquan Hong Ye in Red Moon Pact.
LIP is more like the Prequel to RMP, so no, you do not need to watch RMP first unless you want to learn a little more about the ending to LIP.
Last episode turn into Squid Game and then Julie turns into Tindy setting up premise for a second season or just a never-ending net of cybercrimes involving rich psychopaths...
The revelations of the true mastermind behind Julie were a bit disappointing
What a pleasant surprise. I see it on iQiyi set to aired today along with Love in Pavillion.
I hope everything look natural in this drama. Doesnt seem fun for Hu Yi Xuan to reshoot scenes from another actress. I couldnt find any new trailers for this drama with Hu Yi Xuan in it though.
I just can't get behind these kind of dramas. I had stopped watching straight dramas for almost a decade, until…
Yep, I like those too. Short dramas have been direct & refreshing. Unfortunately, for this drama, they going to try to redeem the ML somehow, annoying as it is
With this type of drama where ML start out not appreciating the FL, breaking her heart and then later fall in love with her, I especially like it when ML feel pain. The more pain the better and the more regretful he is later, the better. I'm enjoying the process of him falling in love with her and then realize he sister-zoned her, making her fall in love with someone else. Its feels pretty gratifying.
at first I thought ep 25+ reveal the Julie's identity, but then i rewatch and realize Julie's identity still remain…
I'm wondering if Julie is more than one person or even a crime group, that can hack into everyone devices. Or else how were they able to get rid of a dead body so quickly and efficiently, cleaning up the crime scene like nothing ever happen.
I'll be damn if Julie turns out to be just some super AI computer that develop its own consciousness trying to help people in their own twisted way like in those Black Mirror series.
Omg this is getting unsettling. I'm at Episode 25 now and I'm thinking why they have to be so cruel to little Chi Yu and Cheung Long. Even if Chi Yu recover from her illness, how is she gonna get over the fact that not only he accidently killed her bio-father but also her bio-mother too? Already getting that vibe like his life will be over no matter what happens next. They were gonna make such a beautiful family of three... 😭😭😭
I'm bracing for impact once the last episode air to finish the rest of the drama altogether if so many deaths are anticipated especially for the main characters
The ML is such a pathetic LOSER in this show wanting to destroy the whole world just to make himself feel better…
The point is anyone can have bad thoughts if treated unfairly but what truly separate evil and good is whether they turn those bad thoughts into reality and acted upon it. ML is such a person who is on the verge of meltdown but is still consider good because he deeply thinks and weighs the impact he can makes and hesitated many many times over. Someone truly bad won't hesitate at all to kill and destroy things, given the power. Opposite of Hannu who had spent hundreds of years consistently scheming her way to destroy the world and hurt others in the process without a thought to stop.
He was presented with many choices throughout the drama, it all involve killing people/letting ppl die or saving them and although he hesitated, he always chose saving them and forgiveness in the end over the worst case scenarios. He is in no way a loser. The world has not been nice to him and he was locked up for decades thus he succumbed to despair and pessimism yes. He was originally an outgoing, kind young man who care about his friends and family even before he fell in love with FL and this evidently shown thru all the final choices that he made.
(Btw, lets not forget that the people he had wanted vengeance on, aside from inflicting him pain also killed his entire family. Pretty darn good reason to destroy them if you ask me, yet he relent time and time again despite it all)
As much as he like to think him giving up on destroying the world was for FL's sake out of his own selfishness (because he has such an anti-hero mentality), the FL recognize all along that he has always been kind not just for her but its just a part of who he truly is
I look forward to any Li Landi's drama, family ones are no different. The trailer already interests me and I can tell I'm gonna like the sisterhood between her and Jiang Xin. Glad it just wraps today.
