Jung Hyun case was very different with this case. He was with Time till Ep 13, only left for personal reasons. And, Time was not pre-produced like this one.
You're right, they killed his character earlier than planned.

For So Young, he could not trust her at that time because he never got to know her true nature.
I'm also one of the few people who was actually glad when the psycho cousin died. They should even killed him off earlier.
