Agree! Don't like a sickly man who needs constant protection. Sigh, so tiring to watch if he's like a stick; he's…
Actually, I don’t find this storyline boring at all. It is quite the opposite. Neither did I find Listening Snow Tower boring. It is just me, personally, I don’t like weak male leads.
He will. According to the trailers, he'd regain his inner energy soon and train for the Lotus Sutra with Xue Zhi's…
Oh, thanks the gods... A strong couple with fantastic cultivation or inner energy will be the perfect cherry on that cake... Their romance is already to die for; merveilleux!
Agree! Don't like a sickly man who needs constant protection. Sigh, so tiring to watch if he's like a stick; he's…
I don’t want an another Listening Snow Tower where the male lead started extraordinarily strong and agile then gradually became weak and measly. And finally had to depend on the female lead’s constant protection. I am an old fashioned type of girl... I like my Wuxia male leads strong throughout or gradually acquiring more cultivation.
They better turn Shangguan Tou back to his glorious self. I don’t care what they have to do but they need to bring back his full cultivation or full inner energy... Whatever the hell he gave her. My number 1 pet peeve in all Wuxia dramas is a weak and a measly male lead.
Yukee chan can only play one role. Watched all of her drama now. naive, gullible and inexperienced character.…
- In Ashes of Love, her character was pretty strong and independent. She did a great job portraying that demon princess. - In Heavenly Sword and Dragon Slaying Sabre, her character was an intelligent schemer who was one of the main villains at the beginning of the drama. - In The Princess Weiyoung, her character was a playful little princess who was very loyal toward her family and her love interest. Are you sure that you watched all of her projects? And are we talking about the same actress here, Yukee Chen? In my book, she is a very versatile actress with strong acting skills.
IKR whenever Leo flirts to yukee even I get butterflies and blush lol ?
I didn’t know that he had that flirtatious side in him... I am like... Wowwww... He is actually pretty good at it. I am seeing him in a different light. I like when actors surprise me.
Leo’s character in this drama is a mixture of both leading male characters from “Love Better Than Immortality” and “Love of Thousand Years.”
I don't understand everyone's beef about Yukee's acting, I honestly don't really see any problem with her acting.…
I am not even a fan of Leo but I can not find anything wrong with the lead couple or their romance. I find them extremely believable and very convincing. And you are right. I keep on smiling so much at their interactions. I might even get a permanent joker’s smile by the end of this drama...
This is how romantic scenes are done... Hey director and actors of Legend of Awakening, take a moment to take good notes on this subject. It really might help with your next project...
As for Luo Yunxi, I may not like his looks but Oh Man!!! The man can act. His lines are like honey if you eat too much of it, you might actually turn into a bear...
Yukee Chen, she can play strong and independent character or naive, gullible and inexperienced character so effortlessly. And in this drama, her character is very impulsive and overzealous, in addition of being young and naive but she still very much likable.
@HV -- likewise couldn't agreed any better, just hope the upcoming wuxia dramas won't be added to the list lol…
We will see... I started a betting game with my friends about which one is going to be worst... Care to join? My money is on Novoland since those series have a history of disastrous storylines.
And the winner is love (Leo Luo & Yukee Chen) Legend of Fei (Zhoa LiYing & WangYiBo) The Wolf (Xiao Zhan ) Immortality (Arthur Chen & Leo Luo) The Long Ballad (Dilraba, Leo Wu & ZhaoLuisi) Novoland:Pearl Eclipse (Yang Mi & William Chen)
Even for modern Chinese dramas, they repeatedly use the same voice actors and actresses. How many modern and costume dramas that I have watched where the actors and the actresses have the same recognizable voices...
i don’t think the fl was the only problem. if you’re someone who have been watching wuxia/and xianxia dramas…
You put Ancient Detective in that horrible list? That is just delusional. That was one of the great detective thriller of this year if it’s not of the past couple years...
Was there any kiss in Under the Power? I can’t remember. This is ridiculous; why married an actor if you are…
Hmmmm... I found Under the Power more romantic and I am a huge fan of the female lead in that one. I did not finish Destiny of a White Snake; both 1st and 2nd female leads annoyed me.
I agree with u on guardian of the ancient oath, novoland, great ruler problem are the young actors..... But ever…
Ever Night 2 was my 2nd biggest disappointment this year. I could have dealt with the change of male lead and some of the key characters. I could have dealt with the change of tone. What I could not deal with are the 180 degree change of the male lead’s temperament and charisma as well as the “I don’t give a rat ass about the directing anymore” from the director... For lack of better terms...
I am not sure. Probably, most all of them are, anyway. Too many Chinese dialects. And I pretty sure the leading couple, Johnny and D., are not classically trained. If it is, the voice dubbings this time is pretty good.

She is very versatile so I really don’t understand those issues against her.

*So far, it is really good.

Well described.
Well rated.
I can’t agree with you on this one.
