I don't think JBR knew exactly where to look for BY. Instead he was driving to her house, when he saw the umbrella on the ground. The neighbourhood there isn't super developed and only has 1 road to travel by (that's why BY can't avoid crossing the bridge), so it's not unlikely he'll pass by the area.
When he picked up the umbrella, he realised it was the same one he gave to BY that time on the bridge. It was raining, so there were footprints on the mud which led to the scene.
Notice that he wasn't geared up yet when he parked by the road, and only went to grab his equipments after confirming the direction of the footprints.

You see, after he lost his memories everyone was telling him what a kind soul he was, how helpful he was... I think it's pretty natural for him to act like how everyone describes him to be, since he's in a blank state without memories. He believes that he is kind, so he'll behave in a kind manner.

I'm sorry but like I still can't get over Eo Bongyi's death, and since I can't get it out of my mind, here's a short narrative depicting that scene. - Bareum grunted, his head pulsing. It felt as if it was about to burst, and the tweeting bird didn’t make it any better.
Annoying.
His eyes flickered open, unable to withstand the incessant chirping noise. He pried off the tubes that were getting in his way, and limped towards the bird. His mind was foggy, and all he could feel was irritation. He opened the birdcage, placing his finger near the bird. Eo Bongyi innocently hopped onto his hands without second thought.
Bareum gazed emptily at the tiny creature, slowly wrapping his hands around its neck. The bird snuggled against his finger, happily chirping at the warmth of his hand...
Crack.
With a sharp twist, the bird was silenced before it even had the chance to screech.
Bareum breathed a sigh of relief as he opened the window. Wearing the same cold expression, he tossed the remains of the creature he once saved and provided for out the window.
“Finally, it’s quiet.” he muttered, unfazed, as he sat back on the hospital bed.
In peace and tranquility, he lied down and closed his eyes. (And we viewers lie down in pain and suffering.)
