Yeah too many touchy feely scenes for me as well. I don't look like to see too much of that in this kind of show.
For me it's not the romance. It's for example Hongyi analyzing the maps for the entire episode and production using almost exactly same shot of Yibo's worried face while we see incomprehensible maps. Or in earlier episodes GBJ running through the same looking woods for 20 minutes looking for the Clan. There is a reason why cop shows do not show police paper work or long drives/walks to the next suspect or witness. It's boring.
There are other, narrative elements that started bothering me. If it turns out that all three of them have 'evil' sibling, I am going to scream.
While the show keeps breakneck pace, I feel the story started losing steam in the past few episodes. I find myself fast forwarding certain scenes which I didn't do in the first part of the show. Hopefully, they can end it strongly.
I just started so I can't tell really. It's different, it's not centering on one character seeking revenge, but the entire family. I am enjoying it, but I don't think anything can dethrone original Nirvana in Fire. :)
After re-watching the last act of NIF, I decided that I needed more of that world and finally started NIF2. After only one episode, I can already see that it will rip my heart out at some point. Maybe not exactly like NIF (I was warned not to expect that), but tears will be shed. Tissues prepared, let's go!
I didn't see any previous versions and I am unfamiliar with the novel. So, this is all new to me. After 6 episodes, I quite like it.
There are some draggy parts in Dali Prince's part. He's an airhead who gets distracted by every shiny thing and forgets his goal for a while. He gets beat up and dragged a lot and still somehow comes out on top. He acquires skills like in a video game. His plot armor is made of vibranium, lol.
I just want for the three leads to meet. They are quite different, I think that will make for a great dynamic. It's also basis for a good conflict.
Let's talk about more pleasant things. There are other actors in WOH. Did everyone see the new Cadillac ad with Zhou Ye and Ma Wenyuan? They literally got their reincarnation AU. :)
I think what he did wasn't something out of naivety or carelessness. Because there were actually quite a lot of…
That's literally the picture from the post about his movie (remember I mention the coffee cup?) And that person is tweeting about ZZH exclusively since August 12 non-stop and the things they (she?) posted about him are making it difficult to see their side. Like, I've read almost all of their tweets (luckily not all at once) and they are literally presenting him as a cackling B movie villain.
I have seen it, so I know it's possible, for even the Mainland Chinese for whom this issue is the most serious to show at least SOME nuance about this situation. Don't mistake me, he effed up big time, people are rightfully pissed. But when I see a pile on by people like this linlin , topped with lies and 'lets kick him while his down' mentality, I can't help feel that something is seriously wrong with this situation.
Like his professional life in entertainment is most likely over. All the dramas, movies, companies etc. all dropped him in 24 hrs. I mean, what else can they take from him? And yet, the saga continues...

He's been unimaginable stupid or simply callously careless. No one with the functioning brain is going to deny that. People are going to be (rightfully) pissed.
But, a lot of lies have also told about him. Like the Nazi pose. See these pictures, it's clearly that 'Nazi pose' was copied from this post about his film 'Brother' (a very touching film) and used (and is still being used online) to additionally smear him. https://twitter.com/softsiv/status/1426588547755171843 Like that's the same photograph people compared to Hitler online (you can even see a cup of coffee in his hand). As the person said, people should criticize him for the right (stupid, callous) things. So, maybe some kind of campaign against him isn't as impossible to imagine. The things I've read about him in the last two days are bordering on ridiculous. Just imagine an awful thing and he has supposedly done it.
The thing is, both of these things can be true at the same time. He did something terrible AND there is a campaign against him.
It would be nice to see Gong Jun and some of Zhang Zhehan's peers come out in support that he made a mistake he…
That will never happen. No one came out to defend Xiao Zhan and he actually didn't do anything at all. No one will defend him publicly unless they want to be erased as well. Privately maybe, publicly not in a million years. The media continue to blacken him, and there is an army of people on Twitter doing the continuous smear campaign in the last 48hrs. I've seen claims that he is actually Japanese, that he is sexual offender, fascist, you name it. I expect to see that he is devil himself soon. So, no chance.
I understand why his fans in China are laying low, they don't want to be washed away in the avalanche. But, we shouldn't censor ourselves to placate someone. Our boy effed up (he really, really did), but he still doesn't deserve the public treatment that is worse than Kris Wu's (before the arrest). Why shouldn't we say that? We are responsible only for our actions, we cannot be responsible for anyone else's.

Anyone can be a WenZhou fan in any way they like and in any way that brings them joy. There is no required stipulations. Just enjoy them!
There's time. the drama just started.

And movie is wonderful too. It made me cry.
Re: WOH accounts, no wonder it's crazy out there, I completely understand them. :(
