Did we watch the same drama? Baiqian/Siyin is not even a weak character. She's not obsessed to Yehua, Sujin is…
I commented while watching ep 21. It was not yet revealed that YeHua was MoYuan's twin brother (at that time I thought he had put his soul in the lotus flower and reincarnated as YeHua). I binged the series and finished today. It was a weird viewing experience. I found the series lacking in so many ways but I couldn't drop it, I wanted to see if it got better. Unfortunately it didn't. When I said the female characters are weak I really mean all of them, for different reasons : Bai Qian doesn't do anything interesting or inspiring during the whole series. As SiYin, she's a disciple we don't see studying, we don't see her improved. She's her master favorite but we don't see why. She's not that smart and she's not a better student than the other disciples. And when she does fight it's not believable, but somehow she's supposed to be strong enough to seal/keep sealed Qing Cang... And why did she do except waiting for MoYuan to wake up ? Second arc as Su Su ? What's interesting about her now ? We don't see her interact with the village people, we don't see her working, getting money, trying to get her memories back or whatever. No, she lives in a cabin in the wood, she finds a little snake that turns out to be Ye Hua and oh, surprise they fall in love and get married in 2-3 episodes... Final arc, what does she do except wandering here and there, drinking wine and being seduced by Ye Hua ? Su Jin, Bai Feng Jiu and Xuan Nu ? All obsessed about a man. All their actions and motivation are linked to their love for a guy.
Removing all this weird misogyny thing going on with the women, the plot and narrative choices are not it imo. We follow too many secondary storylines. The characters wander here and there, in their respective "kingdom", or visiting one another, they talk a lot, repeating what other characters said or summarizing what happened previously. The writer uses too many time jumps, especially on parts we should have seen in order to get involved emotionally : MoYuan/SiYin, SiYin during the 70 000 years she waited for MoYuan, YeHua/SuSu... Eternal love is a perfect example of "telling instead of showing", and that's absurd considering the series has 58 episodes.
Maybe the series would have impressed me 2 years ago when I started my journey into fantasy and historical cdramas but I can't appreciate it after watching series such as Back From the Brink, Till the End of the Moon, The Legend of Shen Li, The Double, Moonlight Mystique. Those are series that are really dynamic and keep you on the edge of your seat : tight and engaging plot, good action scenes, a romance that takes its time to progress, main leads that work well together to win against adversity and that are also interesting individually, and of course strong yet flawed female leads.
When does it start to be good ? I'm at ep 21 and I'm bored. There are too many characters and sub stories and the FL is weak. She's supposed to be this strong high immortal princess but we don't see her do anything deserving the title. I was baffled by the few fighting scenes she took part in, not convincing at all. Actually, all the women in this series are weak. They have no personality, no agency in their lives, they're just 2D characters obsessed about men. Also, it's an odd narrative choice to skip the student/master 20 000 years together cause how and why should I care about the beginning of their eternal love if I didn't see it blossom ? Same for their second love when they're on the mortal realm : everything is going too fast, the romance and chemistry are barely there.
Synopsis is all wrong. Jun is the calm and mature one and Sorn is playing games and pranks. He says he doesn't like kids but he acts like one. He pissed me off in this episode! I need Jun to scold him and tell him he doesn't own him. He doesn't get to act like a controlling boyfriend while imposing a fwb relationship.
I stayed for Baabin and Bua. I like them individually and together and I believed in their developing feelings. Meanwhile I disliked Fou4mod and Chian games. I still don't get why Fou4mod got obsessed with Chian. I guess I'm too old for that shit. Very good acting from everyone and I loved seeing Bangkok's daily life (I want to go back!). But imo the series is overrated...
2025 and kbls keep giving us misunderstanding and no communication until the very last episode. We don't see their daily life as a couple. We don't see them being lovey dovey. It's tiresome.
Please spoil me : why is Sorn refusing to confess his feelings for Jun ? It's obvious he's been in love with him…
Thank you! So it's confirmed that Sorn is aware of his own feelings. Some viewers think he doesn't know... I belive he knows but doesn't want to admit to Jun cause he's afraid to be rejected, afraid to be in a relationship and somehow hurt Jun. So he rather be in this dumb sexfriends situation.
So what I understand so far is : - Sorn has been in love with Jun for a while. He's trying to make him his boyfriend, using subterfuge. Was he already in love two years ago or did he catch feelings after the garden handjob ? But why doesn't he admit it to Jun ? - Jun catched feelings for Sorn. I feel like he knows Sorn is interested but he's playing dumb. Every time Sorn is being too obvious Jun puts a wall, acts annoyed. Why ? Is he just afraid of loving a playboy or did something happen in the past to make him wary of Sorn ?
That's only sexually. Charlie seems to emit wifey vibes in many other ways. Waiting at home for Babe wearing nothing…
It's a Top who like pleasuring their partner (they put their lover's pleasure above their own). And outside of the bedroom they also tend to do the most to meet their partner's needs. As we can see Charlie doing sometimes (cooking, giving massage etc).
Season 2 and there are still people yapping about their dislike for Pitbabe. But why are you even watching it? What are you doing here? This is madness to give so much energy hating on a show and a specific character (Charlie).
