Poor JiHoon. You can see he loves Do Ba Woo but he's too afraid of losing him. He buried his feelings so deep, he's living in Denial. I like the series but today's episode pissed me off. We're going circles now. Something gotta give in ep6!
Good season but compared to S1 it lacked heart and sincerity. I couldn't believe in the friendship cause it was too fast. I couldn't believe in high schoolers acting like gangsters, beating each other up and going to school the next day with few wounds, like nothing happened. I couldn't really understand Beak Jin's motivation. S2 has 8 episodes like S1 but it felt rushed, with not enough characters development. S1 haunts me till today but I know I won't remember much of S2 in a couple of months. 8/10.
Thanks for replying. I see what you mean but I don't agree for this series. Having a gay main lead doesn't make a gay storyline. Proof is Heesu's storyline was seating at the back for the majority of the series and only got 10min resolution in the finale. How "forefront" is that ?
Also, despite what you said, Heesu in Class 2 is a standard BL series. Isn't Heesu the guy who has a crush on his bf and tries to undermine bf's relationship with JY ? Isn't Heesu the guy who's then in love with his neighboor and tries awkwardly to confess ? Isn't Heesu the love guru of his school ? The whole story is about his love for guys. Yet, they failed to make a GOOD standard BL by refusing to give the main lead the storyline he deserved : more quality screentime for Heesu (he's mostly there as a prop for CY and his sisters), proper development for his love interest background, gradual and meaningful progression of their relationship... They took a standard BL, as you call it, and removed its spirit. That's why the final result is wonky and mediocre.
Honestly, I donโt get why people are hating on this. Sure, there was no kiss. Sure, there were no explicit scenes.…
People have been pretty clear about their disappointment. They gave long ass comments and at no point they highlighted the lack of kiss and skinship as the main issue. Maybe read the comments and try to understand them objectively before commenting.
What censorship some of you are talking about ? We have gay kdrama every year, with love confession, kiss, sex etc. South Korea isn't China. This is purely a directing choice motivated by profit. It's obvious they made this series to appeal to mass viewers, wanting to gain popularity while not shocking conservative SK.
Mediocre and predictable from start to finish. Not once did they surprised us with unexpected tropes/characters actions. Even CY's reaction to HS coming out was predictable, considering he was a bad friend throughout the series. Everything was so straight kdrama coded. It had potential but it's so obvious the writers refused to invest in the gay romance. They botched the romance every chance they got.
As predicted, ep 9 was a lot of nothing. They dragging this shit to make the confession happen in the final episode. Ffs, was there a need to make HeeSu confess his old feelings for CY ? No! CY doesn't care and we don't care! What we wanted was HS and SW confess to each other and then HS could tell his secret to CY in ep10. The writers priorities are fucked cause why everyone and their mother have their shit progressing but the "main couple" ? Ridiculous. I don't even care about the finale episode anymore. Whatever happen will not appease me.
Who said a ML has to be a nice/good character ? It's good sometimes to have flawed characters. DBU is dumber than JiHun cause he doesn't know how to communicate properly his feelings. He's so deep into fear he can't think rationaly and understand that he's the one making things complicated. So what, does that mean he's a badly written character ? Does that make the series bad ? I don't agree. I like it cause for once, he's not a victim but his own tormentor and I believe that's the point of the series : he needs to wake up and express himself. Even Jung HaMin told him.
So the question is โ was he even truly in love with Chan? The contrast is striking: back when he was in love…
I totally agree with you. Heesu didn't love CY. It was a little crush, superficial; It can happens with the people you've grown with, people you've known all your life. However, it doesn't negate my pov. The issue isn't about the love Heesu had for CY but how the series failed to depict Heesu's growing affection for SW.
I felt like it was more like heโs finally started paying attention to SW & realized this v.sweet guy has always…
I agree; but the series is trying to pass it as a crush/love. It comes late and suddenly. It would have made more sense if Heesu had became aware of SW in ep 4 or 5, thinking about him more and more. Then after learning about CY & JY, he would not have been affected much. Leaving 4 episodes for him to get close to SW and falling in love with him. I understand what they tried to do but the romance is off because they chose to present this story as a youth drama instead of a BL.
Despite everything, my biggest disappointment is how quick Heesu developed feelings for SW. They focused on everything (ChanYeon & Jiyu, ChanYeon's tennis sessions, the carrot juice mystery and the sisters shenanigans) but Heesu falling in love gradually with SW. How do we go from Heesu barely talking to SW and going circle around CY to Heesu having a crush on SW ? If only they had given them more meaningful scenes! The two moments I can think off are when SW sleeps at Heesu's and Heesu learns SW has two moms and when SW takes the blame for loosing the foods during the group outing. Is that enough to like someone ? Especially when all you can think of is your bestfriend ?
Slow burn doesn't even apply for the series cause we didn't see the main leads interact enough and meaningfully for 6 episodes, thus removing any chance to witness real connexion and growing romantic tension. Slow burn imo is Lost in the Woods, ATOTS or Futtara Doshaburi. Not whatever Heesu in class 2 is giving us.
Seung Won telling his business to everyone expect the one that needs to hear it. I like him but at this point he's a real coward. I'm tired of his ass.
Good series, well acted and nice chemistry and skinship. Maybe my favorite couple from Suki films. However the ending is disappointing; I don't get why they did that. And there's still no news of season 2.
