Here we go. Jom is playing with fire, the way he teases Yo with his words and skinship. He's not ready to have this young man seduce him. Wonder if he'll accept his feelings or fight it because of the age gap. Though they're not that far apart (20 to 26 I believe). Can't wait to see that.
It's been years but I still don't like Saint's acting. Like, is he even acting ? Imo he doesn't emote right. Poom, on the other hand, is fantastic.
I completely disagree with your comment, aside from acknowledging SmartBoom’s undeniable chemistry and acting,…
This kind of reply is pretentious and condescending. You're not trying to engage in an objective conversation, you just want to negate my opinion and how I experienced the series. You say TopForm isn't perfect yet you didn't provide one flaw nor did you agree with one of my points. So you do think the series is perfect and your intention is to prove me wrong.
I said the characters didn't interact enough before falling in love and your reply is "Akin gave Jin a candy and helped him cry". Ok... And what about Akin, why did he get feelings for Jin ? Cause Jin tried to kiss him during filming ? And so what ? I mean if it's enough for you, that's good; but it's not for me. You say the series wasn't about ticking plot points but they sure did. They ticked off every single trope/plot so fast I couldn't get anxious or immersed myself into it cause it was resolved at the end of the episode or halfway into the next episode.
When someone doesn't love a series as much as you do it doesn't mean they missed the emotional intention or artistic choices, it just means they didn't connect with it and/or weren't convinced by it. I can appreciate a series and still objectively say when some things aren't good.
Anyway, there's no point arguing cause we don't have to agree. People like what they like.
This was a weird viewing experience for me. I wanted to love TopForm but I couldn't. I love SmartBoom's chemistry and acting but once you remove that from the equation, the series was average. I've issues with the directing and narrative choices. The series felt like a collection of scenes of JinAkin's romantic moments and work struggles but it didn't flow properly. They resolved subplot quickly and move to another one literally the next episode. The pacing was at time too fast and sometimes too slow with nothing happening. - They sped up important moments I needed to see to really feel and care about the characters individually and the depth of their romance : Jin's growing popularity (the 2min montage pissed me off), more JinAkin's interaction for at least 2 to 3 episodes before the timejump in order to show us why Akin fell in love with Jin. As for Jin, he's a fanboy who had a crush on Akin before working with him. But imo a crush isn't love. So how and why did Jin move from a crush to a love so big he could sacrifice anything for Akin ? I wanted to see that. Cause from the get go, he was all in. - The whole series rest on Akin's character and Boom's excellent acting. I understand the series is an adaptation (I read the manga years ago) but they could have made the narration more balanced to better flesh out Jin's character. Throughout the series I felt like I was watching the "Boom show" with all the major drama revolving around Akin and seeing Boom crying repeatedly (yeah sometimes too much of a good thing...). And Jin was more like a love interest, a side kick to Akin than a main lead.
I think TopForm is the perfect exemple of a series that has viewers completely immersed in the acting and the chemistry to the point some of them get critical blindness. I've read a ton of comments about the series but very few were about the storyline in itself and the film directing/production. So I don't expect people to agree with me.
Anyway, I hope to see SmartBoom in another series cause they're amazing together and deserve a better script.
I love it. And I'm not saying this as a KristSingto fan. I genuinely like the story and the directing. Excessive use of flashbacks is my pet peeve but here I enjoy it because they're perfectly used to show many things : how PhiTam fell in love, how they're different but complement each other, how this difference can be their strength. Flashbacks are also used to highglight the characters progression : Phi was a carefree and fun guy but today he's a perfectionist with anger issues. I believe the unexplained breakup hurt him so much he's full of anger and sadness. As for Tam, he was sweet, a bit shy and quite accommodating to Phi. Now, he's more confident and assertive. Thanks to the years apart and experience.
IIRC, Singto said in an interview that before they split he used to let Krist lead in most aspects of their partnership, not always daring to speak up his mind. But now, after maturing, he's more assertive and gives more input. I guess they also took this dynamics in writing the series.
Just wait, drama is coming, in ep 8 I believe (if they follow the novel).
The novel (you'll find it on wattpad) is 40 chapters, 1 epilogue and 5 special chapters. I think 1 episode is at least 4 chapters ? It's difficult to say because they added Thai & Champ' romance and now June & Penny's scenes. What I can tell is Jun meeting Sorn's brother is the turning point. And since we'll see him next week, I guess the drama will start in ep 8 or 9.
I don't agree with how Mon's mom dealt with the situation. Mon shouldn't have lied but she didn't have to threaten the teachers and ruin the trip for the other students. She used her position for her personal benefits. Shameful. And the discussion after Mon came back was weird. Like, the boy is 16, let him breath! Kim is his first boyfriend, no one talking about marriage and kids. Let him experience first love, big chance they'll break up in a year or two, so what ? Ain't no one dying from a first heartbreak. She really is a helicopter mom.
That's being said, I hope we'll know more about Kim's background cause I love him but so far he's quite a 2D character.
I've just finished the novel and I loved it! The series is quite aligned with the novel so far, and the actors play the characters really well. Some people say you have to read the novel to understand Sorn but I don't really agree. Of course, the novel gives a clear understanding of Sorn's thoughts but it's pretty clear in the series why he's acting like that and what's going on on his mind. I mean, if you know how to read between the lines and know basic psychology 101... The series isn't going to outmatch the novel but it's quite faithful to it and it's a guilty pleasure.
So this practically remake of 1000 stars is supposed to impress me, sorry for the bitterness, but so far I’m…
I love 1000 stars but don't talk like it invented anything. There are many thai stories with this premise. And MSJ isn't even the same story. You can dislike the series without trying to compare it with another one. It's like saying MGB is the temu version of Buffy and Twilight. Please, be serious.
Good start. Didn't like how they used flashbacks (a flashback within a flashback is my peetpeve) but well... This ep was funny and Poom is very good at comedy. Can't wait to see how the age gap plays out.
If you are expecting saucy scenes, you won't get any satisfaction from this series. This is one of the best C-…
Did you even read my post ? When did I talk about sex or intimacy ? Wanting the characters to interact more than 2 episodes before they fall in love is asking for saucy scenes ?
HATERS always come here to comment bad things about the series. Why not go over to your favorite artist dramas…
Having read the thread, I know you're talking about me because I'm the only one who posted a negative comment in the last months. Watching a series and not liking it doesn't make you a hater. Posting your opinion on social medias, especially on platforms like MDL that are made specifically for this, doesn't make you a hater. You, on the other hand, need to chill. You're not the gatekeeper of Eternal Love. I don't think you know the actors or worked on the film production so why are you so pressed by my comment ? I saw you come here every time to discredit people who don't appreciate the show. Don't you have anything else to do? You commented on my post, I explained to you my pov and instead of replying to me, you posted a complain about haters. That's some kid behavior here.
