Once you finish this, you can also check out The Untamed
Yes, in the drama it's only played as strong brotherhood/friendship. The source novel is romance but the producers had to change it for Chinese censorship :)
Ah the latest ep!!! T_T I'll come back again later to cry more coherently lol but I just want to assure everyone there is like 0% angst in this ep lol I was worried for nothing
LOVED the anime when I watched it as a kid and currently loving the series as well! I didn't even recognize that Chu Ying was Juck Zhang until I looked at the cast list lmao, he was my crush in Somewhere Only We Know T_T Also huge props to the kid who played young Shi Guang, what an amazing actor tbh
I swear Yoshitaka Yuriko always picks the most interesting movies and roles lol
Anyway good list! For me I also liked older Korean movies like Old Boy and 3-Iron. Watched these when I was literally in grade school (idk why we have CDs of these at home lol) and I wonder how I didn't grow up scarred tbh
This is a very raw story and a wonderful watch. If you haven't started it yet, I highly recommend! I alternatively…
Thank you! I read about this a bit and I think I'll wait until the last episode to check if the end is not too heartbreaking lmao. My heart is kinda weak with sad endings, plus this show is in a language I can understand so it'll probably hit harder lol.
I haven't really watched this but dropping by here because I was curious after seeing a recent review I saw on the main page, where someone rated this as 1 with no legitimate explanations at all and the status is "Dropped" after watching 7/8 episodes...tbh I think watching that far for something you don't like is some kind of weird dedication lmao
Anyway I see that this is getting lots of good ratings and reviews so things are cool I guess :)
Anyway to answer the questions below, this is a movie for Guardian novel with entirely different actors and most likely also a different universe as the drama. The teasers released so far show concepts of the Republican era, a library, and stuff reminiscent of The Lost Tomb. In other words, no one knows what to expect either lmao
Xia De is giving me STRONG SLS feels, I haven't felt this way since, idk, mid-2000s kdramas lmao. I also got the urge to punch XHT so many times during the start lol but oh well, anyone who makes sure YXG eats well is an ally.
The preview for the next ep seems a bit angsty and I think we'll also get some flashbacks from Kurosawa's POV? Tho I hope the angst won't take the whole time and we'll still be getting some sweet moments T_T

Oh nice, I will :) Thanks for recommending!

But yeah I read the tag and the comments below about the tragedy so I'll probably pass :(
