The ending is horrible in every way you can imagine ,, really horrible
Seriously? T_T Is this real or just to keep my expectations low so I won't be disappointed? T_T I'm not even hoping for a super happy ending, just as long as the both of them are alive and are still friends or something T_T
Serious question: Is the ending going to wreck me? I want to prepare myself as early as now lmao. I'm not half-way through the series yet but I think the ending is going to be a sad one :( Please don't spoil too much though, thanks!
Maybe you'd like Guardian, it's also a mystery-action thing and the censored BL romance is strong. I also just started it among a few cdramas (even the top-rated ones) and this drama was the only one that successfully stopped me from rewatching The Untamed lmao.
Seconding the donghua/anime suggestion, if you're into it. The anime for this called Mo Dao Zu Shi is extremely good :)

That is SO NOT subtle lmao, Tencent ain't playing around
I really want to love this, but I'm 10 episodes in and struggling not to drop it. I'm not really into all the…
I also didn't like it right away, but it was the highest-rated drama here so I wanted to stick to just at least the 20th episode. Come episode 19 and I was HOOKED, not just "hooked" but "HOOKED" lol. I suggest if it really doesn't get better for you by then, you can drop. Or if you still want to see what happens in the end (I mean you already invested 19 hours of your life lol), you can take a look at the shorter 20-episode cut of the drama (Special Edition).
Just want to drop by to say that if you haven't watched Fatal Journey yet (The Untamed spin-off movie), WATCH IT! It tied some loose ends of the ending (WWX did say he doesn't really care anymore, but I do lmao) and it better explains NHS's motivations. I mean if it wasn't for him we wouldn't get additional 20 episodes lol
Anyway my spoiler-free comment would be, if you want to understand the ending of The Untamed better (plot-wise, not WangXian-wise lol) and NHS's motivations, WATCH IT WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR
When JGY told NHS that he will teach him how to play the Song of Clarity, I was like no way he's gonna teach him the "corrupted" version. I mean JGY is evil but he doesn't really involve the ones who didn't betray him. So I was really REALLY disappointed when I first heard NHS play the flute, JGY really used the poor guy as a tool for his revenge :(
And I won't stop talking about it, BUT NHS'S FINAL SCENE LEGIT GAVE ME GOOSEBUMPS
Although, now that I think of it again, an EVEN BETTER ending scene would be NHS meeting MXY :(
I think my mind played the correct voice when I read this lmao
Anyway thanks!

Btw I didn't really get what your last sentence meant lmao, but I love this drama so much I hope it never loses its top spot ❤️
Anyway watch it!!!
