If you know any other dramas that shows woman working outside the office or restaurants, tell me.
Arimura was also in a movie where she became a Train driver (Our Departures). There's also Tuna Girl (not quite working but studying something unusual). Love's Water Drop, which is about sake and wine. Shiranakute Ii Koto about a magazine reporter (kinda office, but mostly outside trying to get scoops). Kono Koi Atatamemasu ka where a combini worker becomes a pastry/desert chef. Night Doctor/Doctor-X/etc... a lot of medical dramas with female leads. Hakozume about a police officer. Kinkyu Torishirabeshitsu about a female lead interrogator. There's actually too many to list.
I'm backlogged on a few shows and movies to sub, but once I'm done with those and this show still hasn't been…
I'm not subbing this as others have picked this up (aiuddin at D-addicts and OngoingAnimess). I am however doing another series (Hachigatsu wa Yoru no Batting Center de).
The Blu-ray has just been released, so should be online soon. Of course subs won't be so soon. HPriest might do it since he subbed the TV series. If no one subs this after I'm done with my other projects, I might do it (Chinese subs are available already).
Most of what she's doing in the trailer just seems like physical assault? and does she also have a terminal illness?…
She doesn't have a terminal illness, you would think that watching the trailer (although she does have a secret that does somewhat explain her behavior, but not directly). This is an amazing movie, you should give it a watch. And with the English subtitles, you have no excuse, haha!
English subtitles done: https://subscene.com/subtitles/god-of-novels/english/2552368 Important tip: Read the Song lyrics! The music is so integral to this show and the songs add a lot of impact. I was wondering "why did the Chinese subbers sub the lyrics to the songs?" so I dug deeper and even searched for the official lyrics to translate the Japanese source. And BAM it hits you when you read the lyrics together with the show. It's very likely the movie has collaboration with the song artists as the lyrics have so much deep meaning to the characters (and each character has their own song). I can't stress this enough, if you don't see the lyrics you're almost missing out a whole portion of the movie. (And because I put a lot of effort on the lyrics too, hehe).
I can sub this to English if there's enough interest. I am however translating the Chinese subs mainly and then…
I'm more than halfway through now, and damn, this is a good movie. The music is great too, I'm even translating the lyrics too as they are so meaningful to the story. Look out for it this weekend.
I can sub this to English if there's enough interest. I am however translating the Chinese subs mainly and then verifying (as best as I can) from listening. There is a tiny chance of some loss in translation, but I find that most Chinese subs are very good and accurate. Should be out by next weekend.
For those of you waiting for subs, it's not going to happen. Gem TV Asia has licensed this for broadcast on Asian cable TV channels, so fansubbers usually avoid doing shows that have been licensed. If you're lucky to be in South East Asia and have Gem on your subscription, you could watch it there.
Hey! I can help with getting the script synchronized and ready for translation. In fact, I'm currently fixing…
If you have done it, I wouldn't mind it. Saves me a few minutes of time per episode. Usually adjusting the timing is not the bottleneck, but the actual translating. If you are also getting from jpsubbers, don't remove the arrow icons as they indicate that the sentence is incomplete and moves on to the next line. I usually merge these lines so that the machine translator gives better results.
Can the Internet Download Manager work on duboku? I'm trying to download some raws from there
Seems to work for me. You just need to install the Chrome browser extension and if the download button pops up on the top right of the video, you should be able to download it. So far I've only encountered one Chinese site that doesn't work (can't remember which one it is), but it usually works 95% of the time :)
There's actually too many to list.
Looks good!
Episode 1 now up.

Timed to NSBC release. Enjoy!
Don't forget to install the Chrome plugin. The program will provide the instructions.
