star power also needed when they wanna make an adaptation. so maybe there were no chubby actress that have a star…
That's just lazy work. There are multiple chubby actresses out there I'm sure and if they had to cast her , she could've transformed herself for the role. Many actors do that . Not doing that just defies the purpose of the manga
One thing i really dislike in this adaptation is they casted a petite woman to portray Yomogi when she's clearly a little bit on the chubbier side in the manga. I love how the manga portrays all types of body shape women have without sexualizing or demeaning them but choosing to ignore that in the adaptation is just ....
Oh it's about how her mother is never allowed to speak in the house and how her father always talks over her and her fiance is exactly a man like that, who looks over all of that and accepts and embodies all of that misogyny but it's also about his inability to express his vulnerability because men cannot in this patriarchal society and he has to continue to make himself the butt of the joke because that's what someone "stupid" is good at but he's hurting too but can't express it and that's patriarchy at its core. Oh i love this show.
It's not unreliable protagonist because Hiro genuinely thought he was getting bullied
No, unreliable narrator is someone who INTENTIONALLY lies or witholds information from the audience/readers. Hiro genuinely believed that he was getting bullied. In personal weatherman, the dude forgot that conversation ever happened or the significance of the conversation...
I dont get it why were those kids calling Hayakawa disgusting or gross when he was just singing???
Japan is a very socially rule abiding society. Since Hayakawa was singing every single time imhe wasn't even supposed for example in class or going back home it's something weird to them so they called him disgusting just to bully him
Guys pls watch my video of them!
