I watched upto ep 2 and the ML is not a jerk so far... He is just an innocent younger guy having a crush on the…
First of all I just wanna tell you that I love your Profile Pic that GIF š. Also yeah Cdramas have gotten so much better since 2020 and there were so many great shows throughout 2021 too especially when Korea was/is busy with all the apocalyptic/psycho/crime dramas. Cdramas became a breather for me, I was in a slump tbh.
Oh I think "Perfect and Casual" can be added to the list as well although it was released in 2020 but the ML despite appearing cocky, narcissist and aloof initially is a sweet innocent guy and their relationship isn't toxic too. And "Forever Love" and "You're My Glory" are great shows too.
Shucks š„ŗ Just started watching E2 and the Subs are f*cked-up as expected from MGTV. Although they're in sync…
Yeah probably since most of the time they just rip off the subs from original source while ripping the video. And these subs are from MGTV App I guess Maybe they might've edited a lil before uploading it on YT.
Aww, I love long comments, you can see how verbose my article, as well as my replies are. You're good! :')I think…
The problem with K-ent industry in my opinion especially in case of Saeguks is that they can't "play" with the characters and they always tell story about a real person. Look at what happened with Joseon Exorcist. And tbh K-dramas are losing their good old charm while Chinese are improving. No I am not saying that K-dramas are falling short at the quality but the paradigm shift is serious. The definition of Kdrama is changing and with the pressure of producing more content without landing in a "soup" is what is making that charm go away. Like since Netflix-zation of Kdramas I feel the production quality as well as the budgets have improved but they're still not taking chances to make something which has not been made in the past. Same goes with Saeguks or Fusion Saeguks despite not having restrictions like China, they still play it safe and always re-tell the same thing about Gumiho, Joseong Saja (Grim Reaper), Goblin or otherwise the good old story of Taejo, Taejong and Sejong the Great. Like how many times do we need to watch how Joseon was founded? Why can't they show about Jurchens, Khitans, Manchus, Goguryeo, Silla, Baekje, Goryeo or Japanese Rule? Or even their interactions with Chinese Empires since Korea was feudal state of China. Sorry for the super long comment.
Thank you!! I too thought Lin Yi x Lusi x Song Zuer would make a lovely love-triangle! :) Esp since I find both…
Yeah I agree with you on keeping Hollywood away but only from the creative aspects. Like no involvement in casting or writing. They can still hire someone who has done CGI in any H'wood project for example the teams who have worked on projects like Kung Fu Panda although it was an animated movie but still that's totally CGI. What happened with Mulan was a typical example of whitewashing. They always overlook cultural aspects/background of a story and lose the soul of that movie.
Thank you so much for this wonderful article. Tbh I have neither read the original source nor watched the show completely cuz I can't stand Shin Se-kyung and well cuz the ratings were so low and everyone back then were lamenting about how the original manhwa was ruined. I'd love to see this C-drama adaption even though I don't really like Xianxia or Wuxia that much cuz I seriously would love to see that cast together especially Lusi, Linyi and Song Zuer. And also cuz I like content with supernatural elements mixed with mythology.
Though I'd love if they'd keep it around 32-36 Episodes and not drag it beyond 40 or 50 Episodes. Also if they don't dub the voices and make the CGI a lil more realistic give the work to someone with Experience of working in Hollywood perhaps. I mean I know the team behind CGI and Studios are mostly based in or outta Japan, China, South Korea or India but they need to have someone with H'wood experience at the top.
There are two love triangles actually, but the second one doesn't appear until later in the story, which is the…
I agree with you on "I've fallen for You" that show was really good with good fluffy romance and Love the way you are was rather mediocre. Though I completed it 2 years ago and watched it cuz of Daren but that show had too much plotholes. That's why I like post-pandemic era Cdramas more I mean the ones aired after 2020.
Yeah so many great shows have been ruined by this stupid channel. I had to drop Meeting You cuz the subs were outta sync after E14 and stayed like that throughout the remaining episodes and ultimately I couldn't find any site/platform to watch it with good subs :'(
Once again I cannot understand the score on MDL.. what's with the score? I can't believe it get this low. I'm…
Yeah that's the problem with rating sites. I haven't come across any site which is perfect... whether IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, MDL or Douban. A lot of shows that I feel should have high ratings are rated well below than shows like the Heirs, Goblin or Boys over Flowers not just on MDL but on so many other sites including streaming platforms. Hence I always read the synopsis, check the cast, read the comments apart from the reviews cuz comments gives you more details. And then I try watching first few episodes max till E5 in case of Cdramas and E3 for Kdramas and if I can't feel the "connection" then I drop the show.
Just completed it and am already searching the MDL profiles of FL, ML and others to check what should I watch next :\ Tbh it's not something extraordinary but it was a great watch for me and way better than Skate into Love. That one had too much drama going on with a lotta episodes. Although I wish if TFWY had a lil more of the Main Couple but it's okay... Loved that they didn't drag it unnecessarily and sorted things pretty quickly with no over-the-top drama.
Oh btw just found out that Zhu Lele and Beisheng (Wang An Yu) are gonna work together in Ode to Joy S3,4&5 and S5 will have Shen Zhengyi (Song Zuer) too š
Lin Yi and Yu Shu Xin š» hope this is true!!!

The premises sounds interesting although not something entirely new but I need one good Rom-com from Korea now :/
Nana needs one good show IMO.
Jang Dong-yoon needs a good comeback too after that "Joseon Exorcist" controversy.
Jin-goo ssi chaebal join the next season of House on Wheels too š
P.S. can someone tell me what happened to his movie with IU?
