I am having a blast with this one, I hope it won't disappoint me halfway. The guards showing off before Ruyi was the funniest thing ever I swear. And Shisan has my heart and soul, he's such a gem.

It's been on my watch list for some time now and I just started it. I am genuinely in awe with its originality and uniqueness. I hope it maintains its quality to the end, judging from the comments, the ratings and the spoilers I've seen already, I know it will. I love it already.

I haven't been so invested into a cdrama ever since love and redemption and I have to say, I loved every second of this one. The story and the acting were beyond great, the chemistry between the leads was impeccable and the OST (especially the title song) genuinely makes me cry. I don't know what else to say honestly, a big congrats to the production, cast, crew, everyone involved into the making of this masterpiece. The drama was a perfection!

Could anyone who's read the novel tell me how closely they follow it? I've read a small number of chapters and from what I remember, they seem to have changed a lot. I like it this way as well, it just seems a little different to me.

Yes there is, one of the personalities has a girlfriend, but it's a highly toxic relationship despite the fact that there are a few fluffy scenes here and there.

OMG so accurate haha! I'm literally fighting to finish episode 1 because I really wanna watch a good kdrama and I don't really find any of the current airing ones interesting enough to invest my time in. I really missed Woo Do Hwan and honestly the fact that he's in the drama is my main motivator to keep watching, but I cannot get past that female lead for the life of me. No hate to the actress, but she has only one flat expression throughout the entire episode and leaves you guessing as to the emotions she's supposed to be portraying, because you sure as hell won't be able to decipher what her character's supposed to be feeling from her face only 😂😂😂😂 Judging by the comments here I guess it stays that way to the very end, which is a shame since there should have been someone better acting alongside him.

Same haha! I started this on a whim, I saw gifs on tumblr and it looked really stylish and aesthetically pleasing so I decided to give it a go. It feels like there's a key aspect of the story missing, like they didn't explain something. I'm only on episode 6, so I don't know whether any explanations behind the difference in her behavior will follow, but so far everything feels a little weird to me. I'm guessing she probably time travelled or something, since she suddenly woke up incredibly cognizant haha. Also, there's just something about that Marquis that rubs me the wrong way, especially how it feels like he took another wife just to mess with his first one and to watch them fight over him. It's kinda messed up.

After watching the other episodes that I put on hold, because I don't usually watch dramas that are still airing since I find it hard to wait for the rest of the episodes, I've come to realize that I love how this one deals with its side characters. Usually when it comes to cdramas I find it hard to like them and I skip most of their scenes because they turn annoying and are usually used as fillers instead of something to add further dimension to the plot and to the whole lore presented in the story. This one does it differently, they just blend in so beautifully especially that phantom girl and the fox prince, I just love them so much, I love their bickering, they have insane chemistry with each other and with the rest of the characters, props to the actors they're great. I've only skipped the Taoist clan scenes and most of Suying's scenes because I hate them, especially Suying, I feel the urge to break the screen whenever she emerges. To me, her hatred for Tianyao and her actions are completely unjustifiable, it doesn't matter how much they try to explain the reasons behind everything she did, no matter how respectable because of her power and cultivation she should be, I hate her and I can't stand her, so I skip her scenes haha.

Baby Tianyao is giving me a sweet tooth, he's just too cute to handle. I can't wait to watch the new episodes, when did I get this hooked omg?

Woah I came back to this because I wanted to watch something light and I immediately remembered as to why I dropped it three years ago. I mean it's quite obvious from the costumes, to the acting (Li Hongyi and Zhao Lusi excluded because they're the only ones who act in this one, ok let's be honest I wanted to watch this again because of them, there I said it haha), to the whole setup. I'm kinda convinced that the other male lead is an NPC haha because throughout the whole drama he has a flat face and shows no emotions, and he just awkwardly stands in places like he has nothing else to do. I mean, I get that his character is supposed to be serious and emotionless, but there is a clear difference between acting emotionless and being emotionless because you cannot act. I swear there was a shot of him just standing and staring somewhere wide eyed and I'm sure he was supposed to be sad or something, but instead he looked aloof and confused with emotional music playing in the background. It was so funny. No hate to the actor of course haha.

My thoughts exactly! The lack of emotions is what bothers me a lot too, these characters are experiencing some really hardcore things happening to them and their reactions are somewhat lukewarm and not properly conveyed. I can't feel anything when they cry, when they fight, I just stare at the screen blankly and even skip through the part without a problem, if it bores me haha. But I'm still hooked nonetheless, I wanna see how it ends and the whole story is kinda interesting as well, so I'm ready to overlook certain things that don't look good to me.

I genuinely liked this one, it had its own flaws, but I found it increasingly entertaining. Also Yamada Ryosuke surprised me, because so far I've only seen him play the cute lover and wasn't entirely sure about his acting skills, but this guy sure can act! Petition to give him roles like these, he needs to play more dangerous guys, heck even a villain I'm sure he'd be great.
