I started watching it. I have a daughter who has this level of anxiety and low confidence and it was actually a bit painful watching the beginning. Her aunt is so harsh. Hara Sachie is so good in this. Anyway, 6 minutes in and I've joined the Atari Kiyomi cheering squad.
It's taking me awhile to watch this but I really related to Ep 06. I didn't have a food related issue like the MC but my mom subconsciously favored my brothers in similar ways. She woke up my sister and I first even though our brothers took longer to get ready, and she also always asked us to the dishes and never asked our brothers and this was in relatively liberal 80s California too, but it came from my mother's background, where she internalized this from how her parents treated her different from her younger brother.
I'm glad there's going to be a season 2. Hope we can get more towards coupledom.
The plotting and comedy is formulaic including the Amami character's predilection for ridiculously spicy foods. After awhile this gets maybe just a little too over the top even for a running gag to me.
What is saving it is the the refreshing dynamic between Matsushita and Amami and okay even if it's formulaic it's still amusing to watch. They also have some excellent guest actors as well so I'm enjoying the ride.
Shiraishi's character is boring and doesn't seem to add anything to show so far (ep 4) though.
I love female led shows, but I also kind of like how this is about two male nurses and a female doctor even if…
You're absolutely right. In general I prefer female leads but Japan's just like anywhere else : it's a lot harder for older women to find good roles with a few exceptions like Amami Yuki and Yonekura Ryoko.
I thought the veteran nurse was going to be female.I think it would have been an interesting dynamic to have a…
I love female led shows, but I also kind of like how this is about two male nurses and a female doctor even if Nanao is more of a supporting role. That's also important.
Wonder if this gets subbed. Every actor except for Machida and Yoshikawa are older than 40. I'd watch this for multiple actors and also for Inoue Yumiko.
okay no offence but in a choice between obnoxious tsundere blondie Key (played to perfection by Sakaguchi) and sweet cutie Asakura (thank you Matsushita Kouhei) the choice is obvious. I'm up to where she has hermarriage fantasy scene and I don't care what happens. If she ends up with Key I'm going to be annoyed. Come on they're so cute and he's a LIBRARIAN. What more do you need???? (spoilering this just in case)
watching the first ep. The actor playing Kaburagi is way too bishie. Even his so-called "bedhead" just looks like a loose perm. Honestly none of the main characters really capture the characters from the manga well. This might be one of those situations where knowing the manga makes it harder to like the dorama.
I also thought, for an established couple, they were a bit stiff. I would have really appreaciated more hand holding,…
Agreed. in Kinou Nani Tabeta? there's really not much contact but from the beginning it's clear they're an established couple and even the actors said they acted keeping in mind that they obviously have a physical relationship and it shows. Of course Nishijima and Uchino are more experienced actors but still. They could have had better direction here.
the last scene of episode 5 gave me so much stress! sorry i need to vent it out here. bankers in this drama are…
Right? I've never seen him play a role like this before. But he's fairly under stated (except for the end of ep 5 where he's smiling diabolically. it's more like Hanzawa Naoki level hamminess at least for him.)
Okay not understanding how a government agency would choose Sagas to be in control of quality of online games. Isn't that obvious conflict of interest?
