As much as it is uncomfortable to watch, i have to admit i stayed and finished the series. Cooper always gives…
Yes yes same here. I have been somewhatvof a fan of Cooper eversince i saw him in My Bromance, its such a shame that he isnt in any big company productions.
Moon sang min shouldnt have taken this role, it was a bit of a downgrade after his brilliant performance in Under…
OMG yes i agree. Initially i thought he will be the Solomon of this series , but he wasnt, such a wasted potential cause that prince in UTQU was definitely someone to pine for.
Nalloogi my friend! Do you really want a long boring explanation of why i didnt like this at all?
Exactly. I think they didnt shoot them continuously, thats wjy there was a shift in narrative and continuity. I love Won Bin and not seeing him without any explanation is just not right.
CUTE cast, you say?Just looking at the "actor" portraying Bohn - his earrings, his bracelet, his OBVIOUSLY dyed…
Hi. Thanks for writing, even if this an old show.
I guess calling someone cute is kind of subjective, but I know quite a lot of people will call Cooper cute. He is the reason why i watched this show and he is the only reason why i tried so hard to watch My Bromance, even Past Senger.
But it isnt just Cooper - Lay, Perth, and my fave in this cast are Intouch and Ryan, that is if we are strictly talking about looks
Hi! I am not sure if it is the same as the books as ive never read it.
Thanks for that!
"it focuses more on how the kids have to suffer on the system created by adults, both in academics and military" - i guess thats why i liked the part1 more. They did show the kids suffering (which is the mroe dramatic part) but at the same time they kept it high adrenaline to keep the audience engaged. But part2 is only drama without the action. And to be honest i came only for the action.
I what to know if you liked Part 1. What are your thoughts about it?
hi RH, thanks for reading my review.
This is a hard question, Im giving the part 1 a solid 7. I didnt make a review about it simply because making the review for All of Us Are Dead is a bit traumatic. To make the story short, the series on its own has too many plotholes - so many unnecessary deaths for shock value. However overall, it is an enjoyable mess with thrills that could make you forget your life problems.
Nalloogi my friend! Do you really want a long boring explanation of why i didnt like this at all?
i thought i sent a reply last night cause i spent about 30 minutes tyoing a reply.
Before anything, id like to point out that I dont hate the way the drama was made (some part of it are made beautifully), my problem is it doesnt feel like its the actual continuation of part 1. There are some strong points, I specificlly liked the quiet moments - like their time bonding over food and the theme park scene (but more on that later). I also liked that they somehow got over their spoiled whiny stage and that most of them are acting like they matured over the course of the war. Part2 as a whole became a social commentary and disection of the effects of war to the people.
But in the risk of being boring and writing a WAY too long review to explain myself, as much as i hate giving review ratings less than 5 or 6, this time i feel like it was asking for it. 1. I had the feeling of being duped and forced into watching something i wouldnt have watched. I came for the monsters and the gore. If i was told this is a drama about kids being psychotic after being ravaged by war i would have ignored it. 2. Are we just to ignore the fact that they pretended WonBin didnt exist at all? Was he one of those in the drawn pictures? 3. All characters became secondary characters. There is no main lead or secondary leads, just everyone sharing the same screen time almos equally. The problem with that is there wasnt anyone to latch onto. There wasnt anyone to love and be attached to. 4. And Yeong Soo- just when they made us care about why he cares so much about the college exams they had him do that. 5. The penitentiary act. Like who came up with that idea? Dont they remember telling us that its been a month since the ending of the first part, and it was an longer time since the start of the kids military training and the war and the evacuation. So how did these criminals stayed alive inside those cells all those time, they dont look hungry at all, were they very recently abandoned? They did mention that the prisoners said they havent eaten for days. They couldnt have lasted weeks inside those cells without food supplies? Or can they? If that whole act was part of the first part, then i would be ok with it. 6. When i said earlier i liked the quiet moments, i also felt like these moments are way too extenced just to fill out the time. To be honest, when i was watching it i had the speed settings at 1.25. Most of the the scenes are fillers and are just boring, 7. The fact that there was almost no aliens. This is what really confused me, was it not an alien apocalytic show? Where were those little (and big critters)? After the climatic horrorfest monster-filled ending of episode 6, this is what we get? Is there an explanation to the sudden shift of tone? There were so many things from the alien side that i want explained, like how are the big monsters killed, or who is receiving the communication from the spheres? What happens to people absorbed inside the sphere like Yeong Heon? Like i said in the last part of my review, there could be a wealth of ideas to mine from the story that could have been used to extend the span of this series into multiple season and make this a full pledged SCI-Fi show. Sadly that wasnt the case. 8. That sad ending. Its not that i wanted those who died to survive, but it is more like giving the characters their most deserved death - as soldiers wile fighting, otherwise what is the point of all the other episodes of them showing us these kids forcibly growing up to be survivors. Thats what weve been watching from the start- KIDS doing their DUTY after shool. 9. Part2 as a whole became a social commentary and disection of the effects of war to the people. Do i think its bad? No. Do i think it is needed for this series? Hell no!The sudden shift in tone is an artistic choice that should not have been made, because again, it is not what I signed up for. if they wanted drama that could have been the focus of the show from Part1.
"don't deserve their endings"? excuse me? this is not a jury court, this is the story about war. There is no justice…
Thanks for writing, its good that you are invested with the drama as I am altho were looking at it from the opposite sides. Yes i think we didnt watch the same drama. On some level, i do agree with you when you said there is mo justice in war, but thats not what i meant when i said they dont deserve their ending. For me it felt like they spent too much time on unnecessary and unrealistic things only to end up rushing the ending of the characters because its the last episode and because it will add shock value.
